I am not waiting for the general code any more.

I almost have a heart attack seeing AP came out this morning!

I was able to apply 40% discount to 2 week BCV 1-br and saved 3,200.
I have to pay a couple of hundred dollar more for an AP, but I can sleep in peace for the next 10 days.

And the AP will provide entry to the park for the entire 14 days.
Like, if F&W gets really crazy, then quick walk back to hang out in Martha Vineyard, ha.

Should the GP discount likely be the exact same as the AP discount? Same dates, etc?

I checked Mousesavers and it looks like AP and GP sometimes vary by a day or 2 but they're mostly the same. And room doesnt usually have the heavy blackout dates that FD has, so thats consistent. Rates are the same as the last few room discounts that I've seen, except for that 30% for Value. That's high.

So I would expect them to be pretty much the same. Except maybe the value rate. No guesses on that one.

I got FD also for the 23rd - 27th this morning on the website. It came up at 9:30 a.m. so I got on and got my reservation.

I cannot believe I seriously wasted this much of my time. I sat on hold for 2 hours (a little OVER 2 hours, the CSR actually woke me up!). Just to be told that Oct. 9-29 is blocked out.

can you back back up to the 8th and start your reservation on the 8th to get it applied to your entire stay? I have several friends doing that - they are paying to get the extra night even though they aren't actually getting there until the 9th. It wound up saving them over $1000 even though they paid for the extra night.

I feel your pain - we are Oct 14th - 22nd. No discount so far. Our trip is planned to overlap with 7 other families. We can't leave before the 14th. 6 of the families managed to get FD - us and one other NOTHING !!! And to top things off - POR is showing no availability. I had booked two adjoining rooms at ASMovies and dumb me did not change the reservation over because I did not think there would be a problem. Now POR is fully booked and we have no discount. UGH !!!!!

Add me to the FD group! Called and got FD for the 23-29 of October. Had to do room-only ressie for the 22nd, but still saved over 1000 dollars.

Awesome tammyjeanm!!! Did you get a read on when? The CM's comment makes it sound like it could be released at any minute but I've read around mid-August. I didn't realize the AP discounts were coming out today so now I'm nervous I'm going to miss the big room only discounts I need... I felt so "insider" before the AP discounts came out! haha

She didn't say when just that I should keep checking the website. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a nice discount of some sort.

No, our plan was to come Oct. 15-22, as that's when the kids have a break.

This was discussed on one of the threads yesterday and if you do not check in on the booked arrival date you run the risk of your entire reservation being cancelled.

It took me 3 tries to get in this morning (40 mins, 20 mins, then 40 mins) and get a CM. The very nice girl immediately applied FD to my reservation. My package at CBR dropped about $1400 in price as a result. Got to call back to make another minor change unfortunately and I've been on hold for way over 40 minutes this time. Best of luck to all those trying to get through!

Can you use an AP holder's discount if they aren't? I've read people saying all you have to do is 'present it at checkin'. Not really sure what they meant

This is what I am thinking about doing. It would come out to be amount the same money I am now, but with the option of going back within the year. Not too bad.

Or I am thinking of going back to a family suite at ASMu. We loved it last time and really didn't have any issues with the buses. That would save us over a $1000 right there.

Since our dates are excluded from the FD and I saw AP rates came out I am in the process now of seeing if it makes sense to buy an AP for myself to get the 40% discount , I am thinking NOT since I would only save an additional$225 on our room (I already have a 20% pin) and not sure if we are going back next year or not.

I have thought about maybe downgradeing to CSR but WL is DH favorite resort, we already switched from BC and not sure if I could get him to give WL up. But like you CSR would save us about $1000.

I have the DxDP am I understanding correctly that I could still keep that but would need to purchase a one day base tix for myself & DH since my DH is also going and will not have an AP?

Got our free dining applied! All of your experiences on the phone with Disney remind me why I love having a Disney specialized travel agent (Dreams Unlimited Travel). I just got an email from her yesterday afternoon telling me she'd applied the discount and how much we saved! Hooray! We were already book for 10/29-11/5, so it turns out I picked the perfect week! Two adults, one child, and we saved 727.79! If a better discount comes out later, she'll apply it instead if it saves us more.
