October 2011 Code Watch

Hello Everyone,
I know most guest and DISers are wanting Free Dining, but if you are staying at a Deluxe resort and the 40% comes out again and includes the dates you want. I am pretty sure, this is a better deal. I booked a good number of clients in September with the discount, instead of using their Free dining offer.
Just my two cents. Here is hoping and keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. Going first week of October here using TA rate.

Yes, I think for us it would be better. Right now, I am just hoping for something. I had a pin for 40%, but our dates were blacked out. I am hoping that something comes out that includes our days. Please, Please, Please... I'll take anything.

I’ve been part of this board for about a year now and I consider myself a “Dis-Reader” more than a “Dis-Poster”, but I’ve noticed that a lot of the current promo dates tend to end on October 1st, with nothing really beyond the Oct 1st date. Now this is just me thinking and obviously there is absolutely nothing backing this up besides my glass is half full attitude, but I’m wondering if they are waiting to release any type of “bigger” promo for their 40th anniversary that takes place in October (wishful thinking I’m sure haha). but, I would think that they would want to fill the parks up for this celebration right? In any case I’m confident that something will come out (I’m in the FD corner). I believe last year’s October promos came out beginning of May so we may just have to bit more patient.

I find the "Historical Information on Walt Disney World Resort Discounts" at mousesavers.com very helpful!

If we go by 2008-2010 discounts, we won't see anything until July-August. :scared1:

This code watching can be so stressful! I think we all need to learn some meditation techniques! :hippie:

I have read several scenarios on these boards of when & what type of discounts might come out for Oct. But for those of you who have already booked for Oct., WHY?
Why would Disney have any reason to give discounts when families are willing to book at full price. Seems like the more of us who book now hoping for a discount later are just reducing our chances for that discount. I have my Oct. trip saved on the WDW website but have not booked. I don't plan on booking until (if) a discount is released for my Oct dates. Unfortunately for me no discount no vacation, so bring it on Disney!

For dates through 10/3, last year FD was released on 5/3, with a little head start for Disney Visa holders. For the same travel dates in 2009, it was released 3/26. I am hoping for an April release for early October! I just need Oct 1st included!!

We don't stay Deluxe, so the % off isn't as good for us...but we'll take what we can get!!

I too have mine saved until Disney comes out with something and will wait to book until they do, however I'm going either way but I figure the less people that book the more inclined they are to put a discount on the table. So I wait and hope they notice that there are families out there that hanvnt commited to booking and they say lets offer them something. :O)

I totally get your point! It does seem a little "catch-22" to book while waiting for a discount... discounts they only give because nobody is booking!

I think for most here it's simply hoping a discount will come out. I know I'm going discount or not!

Also, I'd say us DIS-ers (wonderfully crazy pre-planners) are the vast minority when it comes to WDW travelers. Most "average Joe"s aren't going to book now for October. They are going to wait until they see one of those sweet WDW commercials that promise dreams coming true for your whole family for just $XXX a person! Wasn't there a commercial not that long ago showing that exact scenario (I think it was a the wife showing the husband an ad in a magazine ("I think we can afford it!")? I feel like it's similar to why Touring Plans work. While lots follow them, most aren't.

With all that said, I haven't booked yet. But will before a discount comes out I'm sure!

:thumbsup2 I have my October trip saved also, I am holding out for the discount. Hoping it comes before my ADR date.

I do hope something in the way of a good promo comes out soon for everyone still waiting, be it FD, %off room rate etc. I been thinking all along Disney will do a tie-in with the 40th Anniversary, but who knows :confused3

I have my fingers crossed for something better than the 20% pin offer I am currently booked under but I doubt it since part of my dates are not within the dates Disney seems to be offering in Oct.
I felt lucky that the pin# DH got covered from Oct 18 thru Dec, the downside being it was only for 20%.

I do think something will be coming out soon but will not cover my dates and with airfare already bought I think I will be stuck with the 20%. At least I have the resort and room type I want reserved.

Well, we are going one way or the other. I booked and I am saving money based on the rake rate. If a discount comes along, it will be great, but if not, we'll still be there. I am a teacher and we have a long weekend at the end of October, it happens to be my birthday, I don't want to go during the summer or Spring Break (we did Spring Break last year), etc. But, I can still hope that a discount comes along.

I too have my trip "saved" but haven't booked. I am holding out in hopes of a promo. However, as my ADR date approaches I'm not sure if I will get too nervous and just bite the bullet and book w/o a promo. I'm too afraid I won't get the places I want at the time I want them. UGH, why does WDW torture me??

For us we've booked (so Disney has our money) and they still have sent us a PIN, just received it today. It of course doesn't work for our dates, but PINS are totally random, whether you have booked or not. I booked, because we are going with or without a PIN. Would we love a PIN for our dates? Of course, but if that doesn't happen we're still going. I personally don't think any chances are lowered by waiting or booking.

What does the PIN look like? Is on a post card, or in an envelope?
Thanks!

Here is the email we got with pin.... It is a lot more colorful but it doesnt cut and paste

still no rumors or anything....usaually there is some rumblings going on but nothing???????no word on any discounts:surfweb:

I'm in for the watch...I think DD9 and I are going to go on our first-ever mother-daughter trip in October!!! But I'm not going to tell her! Big surprise for her birthday...

So disappointed in the new offer. The buzz on the dis was right!! 30% off Deluxe and Villas through mid Aug. nothing for Oct. STINKS!! My guess is they won't annouce another discount until this one is up? So does that mean May? Now I have to make a decision........ Book at full price to make my ADR's or hold out for a discount!! hmmmmmmm.....

I am also hoping for an October code, but will go either way since I can't move dd's birthday to another month. :lmao: In the past 3-4 years, no discounts were released for October until mid July and usually August. So dont give up hope, just sit tight a few more months!! Here are the dates that past pin codes/discounts were released.
