October 2010!! Lets Plan Together!!

Just called and the rep I spoke with said there isn't nec a time they release, but she guesses by afternoon.

I am sure that regardless of this info we will all be checking iflyswa.com and the DIS religiously tomorrow from midnight on!

Good luck everyone!!! :thumbsup2

"We used our 40% off PIN for the Poly, too! We'll be there from 10/14 - 10/17! It's our first time staying there so we definitely plan on doing the luau. How about you?"

It is our first time for the Poly too, always been my dream resort!! :goodvibes We have done the luau in the past so we will not this time, we are on the deluxe dining plan and I am excited to try some of the signature (2 credit) restaurants on the plan. I am hoping for Cali Grill and either Narcoose's or Citrico's for while we are there. Maybe we will run into you one day! :)

I had to come here to confess; I just tried to "sneak" around the SWA website to see if I could get the fares to come up for our trip, but of course, no cigar.

I feel like the lady in those old Mervyn's commercials....
"open, Open, OPEN!!!" :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I actually sent them a question last Monday asking them when the October fares would be released (before it was posted on their site's main page), and they didn't respond back until yesterday morning. While I do hope they respond back to you today, too - I wouldn't count on it. :guilty:

Yeah, I'm not really expecting them to reply in time. By the time they do, the flights will have opened up and I'll already have them booked. :lmao:

I'm going in October. First time at this time of the year. I guess it will be a bit different to the usual Easter trip for us. We are staying at POFQ for 15 days. Soooo excited. Surprise trip for DD(8) :)

The website changed last night to say "Planning a trip in the Fall? Now you can book your flights through 10/30!", but the dates still haven't opened up when trying to book it. :headache: I mean, come on ~ don't they know we ONLY have 6.5 months before we have to board that plane!! :rotfl::rotfl:

It's funny you called it your "dream resort" because that is exactly how I've been describing it to people when they ask where we're staying. :lovestruc DH2B always wanted to honeymoon in Hawaii, while I wanted to go to WDW. After his first trip to the World in '08, he was hooked.....and I mean, HOOKED! (Lucky me!!!) We stayed at CSR that trip, but had gone to the Poly one night to watch Wishes from the beach. On our flight home he said, "OK. I want to honeymoon at the Poly". Just out of the blue with no cohersing from me :yay: Who was I to argue??
We're doing the deluxe dining for the first time during our stay there, too! With the 40% off, I think we're still saving a little bit of money even with the DXDDP! (We'll have the regular DDP when we move to AKV since we'll be there for 7 nights)

Wow! 15 days & a surprise trip for your DD ~ that IS exciting!! I love October, especially for the F&W Festival at EPCOT! I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Yup. Just as I figured. Didn't hear back from Southwest in time. They are already accepting flight reservations though. Just did mine. :thumbsup2

but not with Southwest. :sad1: We are flying Airtran from Indy October 16 and returning October 23rd. I really love Southwest, but their nonstop flights did not work for us. We like to get there as early as possible on a non-stop flight and leave as late as possible on the return flight home. SW has only one non-stop flight on those dates and they were at around noon.....Airtran had a nonstop at 7am on the way down and one at 9pm on the way back. AND they were @$120 LESS than Southwest. Even with paying to check a couple of bags each way and select seats we will still come out ahead. I wish I was flying Southwest, but they just didn't have very good flight times this trip. :sad2: Now just hope that Airtran does not mess with our schedule between now and then.....:rolleyes1

Airtran doesn't fly out from our state. So SW is usually the cheaper route for us. Their direct flight times worked for us thankfully. I have a Rapid Rewards Visa with them and had earned a free round-trip flight. One of my dates (Oct. 8th) was blacked out. Good thing I can use it for family as well. So I booked DW's and mine returning (Oct. 18th) flights using the free flights and paid for our flights going. We would've had to pay for DW's round-trip flight anyways, so this worked out for us.

For your sake, I hope Airtran don't change anything on you either. Look at the bright side, we'll be there in October. :dance3:

WooHoo!! Our flights are booked! We paid a little more than we did last time (then it was $99/per person each way), but we still got a great fare, especially since the bags are free. Our departing flight isn't until 5:45pm - we've never left that late, that's almost like a full extra day! We won't even know what to do with ourselves! LOL I'm so glad we added on the extra days to our PH ~ breakfast at Crystal Palace sure would be the perfect way to say "See ya real soon" :P

It's a bummer that SWA couldn't accommodate your times, but it sounds like you got a GREAT deal! :cutie:

Just remember to keep checking back. If the price goes down, you can always get credit for future flights.

Now I'm just waiting for April to come around. Get the park hours and show times so I can make our ADR's; and finalize our plan of attack.

Yes, I am happy with what we got, just a little bummed cuz I do love Southwest! :goodvibes Like a pp said, at least we will all be there in October, and that is all that matters! :thumbsup2

I am anxiously awaiting the October hours for our ADR's as well! :dance3: We have Deluxe dining, so I will be making a LOT of ADR's. I just wish it were here already, I am soooooo excited. :woohoo::yay::dance3::banana::cheer2::dance3:

1 more week until October hours are (should be) released!! :dance3:

202 days to go!! :goodvibes

Hey guys, the US website is now showing the hours (but I think they are still working on it also). If you go to MK (for instance) and click on park hours, change the month to October and then click on the date for the 1st Oct, then it will list the times etc for 1st Oct and then you can click for the 2nd, 3rd and so forth :)

It's about time they did this. I noticed this little trick also. Last time I checked, they still didn't have October hours posted. Thanks for letting us know. Off to plan my days.

I just booked for October 11 - 14 at POP Century with plans to attend the MNSSHP. I have never stayed at a value resort but am very excited about it after reading the refurb thread.

Tomorrow I get to make my first ADR. :woohoo:
Which reminds me, I need to contact the people who are going with us to see what time they want to go. :chat:

Not here. I usually wait until about the last month. I figure that's long enough for WDW to change all their park hours and me have to change my plans. And since I'll be solo in October, I can almost always still get ADRs.
