October 2009 Code Watch!!

Sorry to ask and please do not blast me but any free dining news? I am a Visa card holder but have been away from the board for a while.

Is the free dining usually a package deal or just something offered? I'm florida resident season passholder so room only is what we usually go for. I also have a disney visa and have never seen promotions offered, where do you find the offers? I'm not real observant sometimes :confused3

I'm not sure. We always get packages. I *think* you have to buy a package, but I'm not sure.

I watch this board and mousesavers for codes and deals.

I'm really hoping for an AP code that will help us to upgrade to the Yacht or Beach Club! We're booking at Coronado now, but would LOVE to be able to afford Yacht or Beach Club so we can use Stormalong Bay. Here's for hoping!

Yes...it has been my experience theese past few years that the Oct codes start coming out in late July/early August.....and not all come out at the same time. Be pataient all. popcorn::

We are doing a Disneymoon on a 7 night DCL cruise on 10/24/09 and are hoping to be able to get a good rate for AKL for a few days before....or we may try to rent points from someone to stay at the Villas

Is anyone else here going to be mad if they don't offer some type of discount for Oct, or is it just me?

Anyone know anyone who is basing a trip on finding a discount for Oct? I know of two people right now that I talk to on a daily basis that are waiting.

Nah....I'm going anyway !! :rotfl:
I think you'll see discounts come out. Also know that not all resorts or types of accomodations are involved.....in the past..its been like POR not PORFQ, Poly consierge, CR, room only...etc.
I did get an AAA discount when I booked with DU...now waiting for that AP discount.:woohoo:

I'll join your list on being upset if I can't get a discount. We are going regardless. I am about to cancel book 4/3 free for June tonight or tomorrow and rebook for Columbus Day week since DS decided not to play football this fall. The week of summer school that I will now be able to work should cover the extra $$ we will have to spend if a discount will not work for us.

Oct of 06 we saved about $700 with a code. Oct of 07 we used a travel agency that advertised getting us the lowest possible rates. When the code was released - according to the TA - there wasn't anything available for our stay so we paid full price. Since I was not able to call WDW about our ressie, I am not fully convinced that something couldn't have been done. Never again - I book everything from here on out so I know for sure.

Since DD is now 10, I pay adult prices on DDP for 4 of the 5 so I am praying for free dining again! That will beat any room discount they can offer me! Fingers crossed and waiting

The exact same thing happened to us in October of '07! Interesting!!

I'll be upset if we don't get a code. We have gotten a code for the last 2 trips and now I'm spoiled. :rotfl:

Count me in! I'm planning a 10/12-17 trip to Pop, but if we get a 40% off PIN code (gotten a couple before but haven't been able to take advantage of them) I'm hoping to upgrade to AKL for only a little bit more.

So you are going to be there the same time we will be there. :cool1: We are staying at POR because there are five of us too, and I am also paying for 4 adults & 1 child because of their ages.

I am totally in agreement about booking your own trip. I like to be in control of it anyway, plus a TA is not worried about saving me money like I am. ;)

Had to move our vacations. We upgraded from Pops to CB pirate room. I booked at full cost - but if code released, can I still take advantage of it?

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I'm thinking of trying to talk dh into going around Columbus Day. The kids should have 3 days off for Fall Break that week, & I could pull them out 2 extra days with no problems, I think.

About free dining... was that offered all the way into OCT last year? I'm thinking they only offered it through the beginning of OCT? It would be GREAT if we could get free dining. I'm thinking they are more likely to just expand the "buy 4/get 3 free" promotion.

We usually stay at All Star Movies resort, but I'm thinking of "moving up" so we could have a bit more space, and a queen size bed. This last visit, we stayed in ASMovies-Dalmations Building and we found it to really be showing its age. I noticed mold on the ceiling and wall paper in the bathroom, and the walls were really dirty looking.

2poohbears....
I don't beleive that the dining plan is offered during the F&WF time period.

Cora's Mom.....
Yes..IF a code is released and there is availability.

I'm not familiar with codes ect. I've seen someone post that you can book a package and apply a discount later once they been released. Would this be applicable only if your package has not yet been paid in full? Our trip isn't till October, was going to pay it off this month, but if waiting for a code would save me some money, should I hold off paying it off (the balance isn't due till August).
