October 2009 Code Watch!!

:thumbsup2 this looks very good for me. We're going oct 2-9th. I'm crossing my fingers another deal will come out for my trip like it did the last 3 years. i already booked my trip, its caribbean beach preferred room, hopper tix 8 days, 7 nights hotel with quick service dining me DH and our baby. came out to over $2600:sad2: im realling hoping for a code to knock off about $800!!! In 2006 we went and stayed at coronado springs same time of year 8 days hoppers, 7 nights with dining and it only cost us $1700!!!
:)

guess i'll have to wait til aug or sept. hoping to get free dining for visa cardholders!!!!! My trip is Oct. 24-30!!! my DS will be 6yo on oct 29th! told mickey is giving him a "credit card" so he can buy his birthday present at WDW!:cool1:

Keeping my finger crossed for Free Dining extended too. Not sure exactly when we are going in Oct yet. We are going to try to avoid Columbus Day week if possible.

We had to break up our reservation into 2 separate ones so right now we have a package for 10/23 - 10/24 with 8 day base tix. I then booked a second ressie for 10/24-11/1, room only with 40% off. I'm hoping to be able to take advantage of a package discount for 10/23 - 10/24 so I can knock some money off there.

Does anyone know if columbus day week is busy? We are trying to figure when to do in October and that week looks promising. Any thoughts?

ive been to disney the week prior, the week of and the week after columbus day in the last 4 years... From my experience, I'd say that it's not as bad as what the summer in Disney would be, but it is more crowded than the week before or after the holiday.
Have fun!

Last night my husband said "the only time of year we haven't been to Disney is fall. I heard "we're going to Disney this October, start planning". ;) so here I go again...Would love to stay at WL, hoping for a code.

Could someone post a quote of what they are paying? I am seeing about $3500 for 2 adults 2 children, moderate resort, hopping + water, with magic your way plus dining. My dates are the 24-31.

Thanks

That's about right. Our vacation is 4,000, and there are 2 adults, 2 adult children & one child, with dinning and hoppers, staying at POR. We will be there for 7 nights.

That is without any discounts or anything. Let's keep our fingers crossed that something is offered.

Columbus week newbie here. I'm used to Thanksgiving week. Is there weather good enough to get the water park passes? In late November we don't bother with the water parks. Seems like getting water park passes for all 7 days of a week would be overkill. Maybe I should just get 1 or 2 days of it? I don't even know if that is possible.

The weather Columbus week is GREAT! It's usually been in the upper 80's when we go! Definitely good for the water parks! Have a blast!

I had just inquired through a travel agent Friday morning about going sometime in the fall. Then in the mail Friday afternoon was a code for 40% off a value resort during certain "celebration" times. We are debating on booking a moderate or a value resort for Oct 25-Oct 30. The interesting thing is that the postcard said it was only for value resorts, but I think we are getting the moderate resorts for the same discount. Which is actually a deeper discount. Regular rates are $170 a night, and with tax our quote is around $120 a night with taxes.

The 40% discount rate I recieved ends in Sep:sad2: We have a fall break
in Oct. I'm waiting to get a one also to book. If I don't get any I don't
know if I will be able to go.:scared:

Silly question, but I'm somewhat new to staying on-site at Disney. I hear lots of talk about these codes, but how do you actually use them? I've never seen a spot on the disney website when searching for rates to enter a code. Am I missing it?? Also, how do i check AAA rates?

I'm hoping you don't say you have to call, 'cause I hate using the phone. ;)

*ducking said in a whisper* You have to call and have them add the code to your reservations. :)
