i just called Disney to see if there is a discount attached to my account and she said no. She said that once your name/info is in the system you are on the list for these kinds of mailings but it all goes through marketing and she doesn't know how they choose who gets one. Sooo...I'm still at square one, unfortunately. I was thinking that maybe if we wait a little longer to book, that maybe marketing will be like "hey, she has been here in over year! let's send her a discount card and try to get her to come back!" But my luck would be to not ever get a card and then not get the room/dates we want...especially since we want to go the week before Halloween

I'd book now. I have never got a code. First trip was 2000, then briefly in 2002, then 2004, then not again til this past Oct. Still waiting for my code to come.

I just broke down and booked our trip! No discount yet, but I'm hoping that the Disney Visa Card discount this year will actually be helpful but if not...oh well! We're going back!! 10/16 - 10/25 at Pop Century!

You'll never believe this. Last week i received a 40% off discount in the mail. I'm planning on traveling in Oct 09 with another family. They were hoping to get a discount as well but didn't figure they would have the luck. They received an email 2 days later with a 40% off pin. Then today i received another one but this time in my email for 40% off as well! I'm not sharing to rub it in but to let anyone know who doesn't have a code yet..don't worry it seems like they may be handing out plenty of codes this year!

Im codeless too. I have a Disney Visa, have an account with Disney shopping, have two accounts with WDW online and get emails from Mousesavers. I go to the Disney site often to play with dates AND I ordered another DVD. I usually book online except our 2006 trip when I called to book my ressie. In order to go in Oct I must have a code or DH will say no way. Im going to call after my kids go to bed to see if there is a code or not. Hoping for some pixie dust!!

Before that my family went frequently, i have been 5 times in the past. I do have a Disney visa card and last year i requested a DVD planning video. I usually book with a travel agent but like i said it's been awhile. Is it better to book straight threw Disney or with a travel agent?
The other group i am traveling with does not have a Disney visa card but the requested a DVD last year at the same time as we did. Do they make new planning DVD's every year? Is so is the 2009 planning DVD available yet?

We usually book our vacations through AAA; one year we did book online through Disney. Typically AAA offers about 10% off of the Disney quote price so it works out better for us. We don't have the Visa card, but I have done everything else - set up quotes on the Disney web site, requested the planning DVD (I think they do change yearly) and I'm on every Disney "thing" for which I can be registered. Oh well - maybe they'll offer us a "bounce back" when we're there in February!

I just tried calling Disney. I was going to do it last night to see if there were any codes associated with my or my DH's name but ended up doing laundry instead. I got the "Were sorry, but all circuits are busy right now....please try your call again later." Whats going on?? I read somewhere yesterday that the same thing was going on then.

I would really like to luck out and get a great deal for something next Oct. We were originally planning to go to DLR, but are now looking at WDW instead. It all depends on if I can get a good deal and convince DH!

Ok...so I tried today, because I was interested in Deluxe Club Level at BWI. It wasn't available with a code before...but today it was. It was about 500 more than standard, but for us, the extra room etc will be great, as I'll have 3 kids at the time, 1, probably 2 in pack n plays.

There were too many pluses.

Now..does anyone know if conceirge will do anything special if there is a birthday during the trip? Especially this year w/the promotion???

In the 11 year time span that we have traveled to WDW, we've never been blessed with a deal.

I just read on one of the posts above that free dining was extended last year? How far into October did it go?
I guess I could quit worrying about a 40% off code and hope for free dining

OK so this is what happened to me last Tuesday... I actually got an email with a PIN code for 40% off!

It wasn't valid for the dates of our trip: 10/16 - 10/25 so I changed to 10/23 - 11/1 as the code was valid for 10/25 - 10/31.

I called CRO, all excited about my discount (that only took me SEVEN trips to get) and found out that they had crossed my account with my sister's account and the discount was supposed to be meant for her. Basically I told them that it's not my fault that they have the wrong email address on file...the woman was really nice and her Manager approved her to apply the 40% to me. The discount ended up saving me 200 bucks! At first I felt like it should have saved me more but it's valid on the ROOM ONLY, not the tickets/package and we ended up getting Pop for $63 a night with the discount. Keep checking your email everyone! It finally happened for me!
