October 2009 Code Watch!!

Hi all! Haven't been on in awhile. Hubby and I were supposed to go this September for our 10th anniversary but with some family problems and money issues we were unable. So we are planning to take our daughter next Halloween and celebrate our 11th anniversary!! So bring on those codes!

For those of you staying at POFQ, you will LOVE it! It's beautiful!

i have got to confirm this its so peaceful and one of the best in my opinion we've been there two times and both were awesome!

I'm here too! Our family of 6 is hoping for an ASMu family suite discount for either Oct 7-14 or 14-21. :) It's never too early to start hoping for a discount!

Hey all quick question ....ok maybe 2

1. I booked bounceback last week for next october, I am guess you can't, but can you combine bounceback with a code from Disney Visa

@. If you can't, what is a better deal, POP with free dining or a 40% off a mod with ddp basic? It seemed the one poster said that with his discount at CBR, it was around 1900 with ddp.

Just questions, thaks for the help!

Hey we are staying there for two nites before our cruise oct 1 2009. we have been to disney many times, but never at pofq. what bldg do you recommend? We will only be there for two nites, don't want to pay for preferred view, but looking for a good location, one that is close to bus stop and or food court
hoping for a code too. right now we are using AAA cod.

I might have some information on the last week of October price discount. PM me

Here is the link to my TR from March. I put a map in there showing where our room was and the room #. It was great! We were in Building 1, but towards the back of the building so we were away from the street but still pretty close to the food court and the bus stop. It really is a great resort!

The only thing we didn't like is that is that it shares buses with Riverside when you come back from the parks so they can get kind of crowded. On the way TO the parks you have your own bus though.

looks like we are going to stay at one of the all star resorts for our 10th anniv in the beginning of Oct 2009

Hi there! I started the other October 2009 thread, didn't see this one. Anyway, since yours was first, I've asked everyone to jump over here. Hope you don't mind!

I'll jump over too! Anything to find a discount for Oct '09. I want to go in '09 anyway, but a code, or free dining will help me make it a longer stay!:thumbsup2 We would be using the free dining when Visa comes out with it in April, but with the Celebrations promo, we thought the first week of Oct. (grandson's BDay) would be better, (he is off school that week, too). But if there are no codes or free dining offered, it may pay to go in Aug- Sept instead.
I am really hoping to swing Oct. for the lower (hopefully) crowds, and better weather!
One way or another, CBR, here we come! :goodvibes

So, DH, DD(5), DS(2) and I will be going to WDW in October. We've gone a couple of times in February and want to try something new. Plus DD's birthday is Halloween, so I thought what better than to celebrate at the World! :thumbsup2

We are shooting for Oct 24-Nov1, but I got a 20% off pin for Oct 25-Nov 2. I'll stick with that unless I get something better! Here's hoping for something better!

1. You may not combine codes; you must pick one.

2. Depends on your travel style. You need to evaluate that for yourself by seeing how each one fits you, run the numbers and then pick the lowest bottom line.

For us, free dining isn't worthwhile. The dining plan doesn't work well for us. We are not CS people. We aren't into fast food and one of my kids has food allergies. We also end up doing a few signature restaurants, which is never a good use of dining credits. And then you have to pay rack rate for the room. Plus, we have APs, so I don't need tickets and must buy at least one-day base tickets. It really ends up costing us more money than a good room only discount, which is almost always available at the same time (at least for AP holders).

A good way to evaluate the dining plan in general is to make your dream dining plan. Use the menus at All Ears. Then go and see how that fits into the dining plan credit use. Remember, not all things are included on the dining plan (like tips!), so you have to add in that cost. If it works well for you, then go for it. If not, then you know it isn't the way to go.

When is the 2009 Fall break for Orlando area schools? We try to time our visits for the week afterward.

I keep hearing that we may have to wait till about Arpil. I'll be ready! I should have my reservations well before, and hope for something to break for first week of Oct.
I would also like to know if the Orlando, and surrounding areas have a fall break around that time.
