Tuesday 7th October Day 4
A rude awaking this morning at 4.30am fireworks going off in EPCOT - they seemed to be practicing for the Press Event. I was not impressed. Today we are heading out to Typhoon Lagoon my favourite of the water parks Dh loves the surf pool here he would spend hours in it if he could.
We had a plan, we got to TL for opening and then we split up DH goes off to get towels and rent a locker and I go and find a spot to sit this seems to work well. I found a lovely spot with shade to sit next to the structure with the big clock on. We tend to head off to do all of the rides first and then spend some time in the pool. I love the rides with the inner-tubes so we did Mayday Falls, Keelhaul Falls and then the family raft ride. Now on each of these rides I kept getting dunked with water, this became a theme of the holiday. I even tried Humunga Kowabunga the speed slide this holiday as I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to water. DH and I went down it together at the bottom of the ride the lifeguard said to DH was that you screaming like a girl he said no that was her! I was rather proud of myself for trying that ride.
My favourite thing of this park is the Shark Reef last year I swam across the pool as fast as I could. This year I took my time and enjoyed looking at all the fishes and big scary sharks.
We finished up here at 1pm ish and headed back to the Boardwalk to shower and change and then we caught the boat over to the Studios. I love being able to get the friendship boats much better than being squished on a bus.
We arrived in time to see the parade, this is a great colourful parade that we enjoyed watching. We went to Star Tours straight after and walked straight on, DH enjoyed this. DH brought me a lovely pair of Oakley sunglasses here..they were only £91.00 a bit different to the £149 I saw them for here in the UK.
Dinner this evening was a Hollywood and Vine this is a buffet meal we did the Fantasmic Dinner Package. DH really enjoys buffets and tries to have a taste of everything that is on the menu, I just enjoy desserts. After dinner and a look around the shops we headed up to the Fantasmic Stadium to see the show. Suddenly the skies came over very dark and it started to spit with rain. We brought our very first ponchos( I was quite excited) they are the clear ones with Mickey on. We sat there hoping that Fantasmic was going ahead, people started leaving as the lightening started though and after 15 minutes the show was cancelled. I was disappointed as this is my favourite show. We headed out of the park and the queues for the buses and boats were huge so we walked back to the Boardwalk we beat the boat back and was only a little wet.
We stopped by the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up Alans birthday cake it was huge!!
Tonight we were meeting Ann(snuggles) and her family at the Swan to say hello, so after a shower and change we headed over to meet them at the Swan Fountain. I recognised them straight away. We sat down on the sofas for a chat
and later their daughter Jenn joined us. We walked over to the Dolphin we had never been in there before and the lobby was very impressive. The rain was easing off now so we walked over to the shops at the Boardwalk. After this we said goodbye to Ann, Stephen and Jenn it was lovely to meet them and headed back to our room for the night.
