October 2002- Deluxe Resorts- Discounts??

I am planning another wonderful trip to DisneyWorld for the last week of October 2002. I'm not sure if I should book now and wait for a discount code or hold off for a better price than the regular rates. Does anyone know how far in advance they put out the discount codes/packages for the fall? Does the Walt Disney Travel Co still offer the fall fantasy package? We really want to stay at the YC/BC or BWI, but don't want to pay full prices. Also, does anyone know when MNSSHP tickets go on sale?? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP- THESE BOARDS HAVE MADE SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN MY VACATION TO WDW!

I don't think there is a set date for releasing discounts. We went last October and we booked our room about 2 months in advance. We were waiting for the AP rate to come out.

You could always book now and then cancel if something better comes along.

It's way too early for anything for October. YOu can book now and apply a discount to your ressie if one becomes available. I do believe the Fall Fantasy Packages are available right now. I don't think MNSSHP tix became available till mid-late summer, but that's just a guess, I really don't remember when last year they were available.

WE GOT AN AP RATE AT BWI FOR THIS SEPT. A FEW WEEKS AGO THE CM WE BOOKED IT WITH WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT FAR IN AVANCED OUT ALREADY.

Not sure, but you may be able to book at AAA or Disney Club rates!??
I can't remember if these rates were available through Oct or just up til Sept.
It never hurts to just call.
I would go ahead and book at a resort that you feel you would like and can afford. And then wait for the discounts.
You just never know what the future has in store, but Oct seems to be a pretty good month as far as discounts go.

Right now the DC rates are out . . .and for October for a Deluxe its 10% off . . .which is basically almost taking off the tax. Hey something is better than nuttin

Thanks for your great responses. I'll keep my eyes open. I appreciate your time and will probably book the resort that we want and keep our fiingers crossed that a great discount code will come out! Can't wait to go back....
