October 20 - 26 Fantasy Cruise

Just booked, first time on a DCL. Any suggestions of things to do on Castaway?

Do you do fish extenders?

You can do snorkeling. Rent a bike or a float. There is a game area with basketball and pool tables. There’s a 5K course that you can do and they give you a medal. Chair with umbrellas on the beach. You can look on the website for the port excursions that are available. There a family beach section and an adult only section further down. There are a couple of food areas where they will set up lunch. Also character meet and greets.

This is my favorite itinerary. We have done the Castaway Cay "double dip" several times because we really enjoy relaxing on the island. We are also really looking forward going to the new Lighthouse Point stop. Being able to go to the island twice typically gives us the opportunity to be more adventurous one stop by snorkeling and doing other activities and then the other stop just being beach bums. Skippyboo gave you a really nice overview of the activities.

As for FE's, we have done them several times on past trips. I am not very creative but have gotten some wonderful gifts. (My best work is the FE itself, as I quilt.) FE's are really fun, in my opinion, for the smaller children. It's fun to leave your cabin to come back to "mail." We aren't trying to find a FE group as we think the Halloween activities will have lots of opportunities for "goodies." However, we will be decorating our door with porthole magnets. I change the theme everyday, that way when I come home I can tell the differences between the days. Speaking of that I need to go check out to see if I can find some Halloween theme ones. Right now I have pirate hat, but I don't think they will have that night on this cruise? But have Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and themes that I can use. There used to be a good thread with some good examples for port hole magnets, I will have to check out if its still around.

Hope you really enjoy your DCL cruise, we think it is a great way to vacation.

On another topic I have been trolling the site to determine if we should change our room location. Originally, we were on Deck 10 which I have only heard about the deck chair noise overhead several times. My DH is not really a big Disney fan so I try not too agitate him too much, but deck noise may of done it. I just moved our cabin down to Deck 5, which is a smaller cabin and a bigger verandah. Hoping the smaller cabin for 4 adults won't cause other problems, but I guess I can send someone out on the verandah  if trouble brews.

I definitely think there will be a pirate night. They still do pirate nights on 3 night cruises. This one is 6 nights.

Well, just found out it is unlikely that our youngest son can join us for this cruise. He started a fellowship and it sounds like they don't have enough coverage to allow him to take time off. We were going to celebrate his graduation from college, but we will just have to plan another trip for that. Seeing there is a similar itinerary in March 2025, so that may be his trip.

He is being a trooper about it, and the rest of us are sad, but he still wanted us to go. He and I knew this was a possibility, so we were semi-prepared. The rest of use will just have to "bite the bullet" for him and go on two trips. However, on a serious note, since our cabin has room for him, I can always add him back into the trip if by a miracle he gets the time off?

Well, our plans are solidified. The three of us are set to go, my youngest DS may be able to join us for the pre-cruise part of the trip, which I am really hoping he can swing.

I finally settled on a cabin, I moved us from Deck 10 (which I heard the noise from above can be loud), to Deck 5 and then up to Deck 8. I think we will be happy there. Even though months away getting excited.

Hi everyone! We have an autistic teen sailing with us and trying to plan ahead, so I am hoping someone on this sailing can post their daily navigator info when they return please. We are sailing this same itinerary on the Fantasy’s Nov 10th sailing. I would love anything you can share, love to see a video of the activities in the navigator app or even a photo of the daily activity sheet they offer at guest services again. Thanks so much with whatever anyone can share.

A few questions you could answer when you return:

-Besides the 3 usual restaurant menus / 1 pirate menu, what other 2 menus did you get?

- Anyone have teens? Was Vibe open to attend during the day while docked at Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point? DS isn’t a big beach person and plans to stay on the ship. Hoping he can go to the club even if it is a little empty cause everyone is on shore.

-Anyone buy the Premium Surf internet package? Were you able to stream video without it stopping or pausing to much? DS likes watching his YouTube videos in the evening before bed. Not counting on it but also hoping he can play his Roblox iPad game on it too.

We leave this weekend for our sailing and hope anyone could answer any of my questions if you can. Thanks! :thumbsup2
