October 2 & 6, 2011 B2B Dream Cruising

We are a family of 4 going on this B2B cruise for the first time. This will be our 2nd and 3rd cruise on Disney Cruise Line.

We are very interested to see what happens when we get off the boat to just turn around and get back on...seems kind of weird to me.

Can't wait!!!!

59 DAYS AND COUNTING DOWN!!!

:welcome: Aboard!! This is our 6th & 7th cruise but first B2B. They used to not make you get off the ship, just checked in @ guest services. They say now you get off, go through customs and they take you back upstairs to check in and you are back on the ship before the teminal opens....we'll see I guess!

I wonder if the later port opening time will effect the amount of time it takes for us to get back on the ship. :confused3

i dont see why they make you come off to recheck you in...why can't they do both cruises when you check in at the first cruise, so much faster. but if it only takes an hour then that's not bad.

so excited. from 22 months down to 58 days!!! :cool1: :rotfl:  :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Actually the point of getting off isn't to check back in, it's to clear customs...it is too bad that they can't figure out a way for the B2B's to clear customs on the ship though so that we wouldn't have to get off.

I think it's just recently they have started requiring B2Bers to get off. Probably some new law or Customs regulation. :confused3

Ran across an interesting thread about Cabanas, Topsiders (Magic) & BBB (Wonder). I knew they were open @ dinner but had no idea they were a sit down, cooked to order restaurant with steaming hot food!! Actually sounds good. I doubt I will eat dinner there on this cruise since I want to try all the new restaurants, but good info for the the next cruise on the Magic or the Wonder.

I was reading that thread too. We might try it once on this trip since the menus will repeat. I wonder if the dress code is the same as the dining rooms? I was just thinking it would be a nice option if the kids want to do the aqua duck during dining time so there wont be a line, DH and I could head in there for dinner. :confused3

I'm sure dress is casual. People like to go there so they don't have to dress for dinner.

Hi BigRed1! I keep thinking the thread will pick up as we get closer....we ARE closer! :cool1: I think our thread has gone into hibernation....I'm still very excited though!

Oh yeah, I'm ready! I have been Dis-ing lately instead of Facebook-ing! I thought the board would have picked up by now but I guess everyone is still busy getting back to the school routine. I posted on the 10-2 and 10-6 threads to see how things are going. Maybe we can work out a get together with them on the ship. Some of the 10-6 folks are doing a B2B, staying on when we get off.
ANYWAY, we need to set up a dis meet! Anyone staying @ CI&S night before??

36 days before the plane leaves for Orlando! Can't wait to see the Dream first hand and spend 7 days eating until I can't eat no more. Just need to drop the last 2 pounds before going. :cool1:

We are also 36 days from departure! :woohoo: We are driving though. :drive:

has anybody gotten their cruise docs yet?
Not yet...:sad2:

HOWEVER, I have established contact with the folks on the 10-2 thread and they are interested in a meet with us, but guess what?? We don't have a meet planned! They are going to meet in the Atrium one day but don't know what day yet. We should plan a meet and invite them to join us, and maybe some of us could join them at their meet. :confused3
Any other ideas or suggestions??

From a B2B cruiser currently on the Dream, Castaway Cay has sustained substantial damage....
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=42409294&postcount=38

I am writing this from Olive's Restaurant in Nassau, on the Dream doing a back to back (this is the 2nd one.)

I was told by several staff at guest services that the damage is heavy and bulldozers are being sent in. A full team is en route today. They told me CC would be out of commission for at least a few cruises. Reported roofs blown off and water in Cookies II.

Looks like CC will be back in operation before we set sail, so that is a good thing for us. If I don't get to go to CC these two cruises and we didn't get to stop on the PC cruise in January I will not be very happy. That is my all time favorite stop on DCL. :thumbsup2
