October 2 & 6, 2011 B2B Dream Cruising

Yay BigRed1! I'm happy you will be joining us! Still no plans for designer speedos, right? :scared1: I wish they hadn't canceled our fall break, our oldest is going to miss a week of school her senior year, not too happy about that, :sad2: But changing really wasn't an option for us.

No Speedos here, but I can't guarantee what Mal Hombre will or won't do!! We are glad it worked out and can't wait to see the Dream!!

Well, I have started preperations here at home....other than making reservations for rental cars, hotels, etc. I've started on our magnets, and the kids and I started decorating the links for our countdown chain. This one will be much shorter than our last one. The last one we made we still had 16 months until our cruise, this one willl only have 5!
Anyone have plans of rebooking onboard? I was hoping that they would do Bermuda out of NY. :confused3 If they don't chage the iteneraries for 2013 I think we will be booking a 7 day on the Fantasy in Feb 2013, if they are booking that far out in October, otherwise we will be booking a dummy date. It will be our first cruise as a family of 4 instead of 5 since our oldest DD will be in college by then. It is going to feel strange without her, only needing one cabin will be nice though.

Hi there everyone. I am going to be on the dream from oct. 2 -6. Not doing back to back but I was just wondering if the other thread for the dream oct. 2 to the 6th can get in on the fish extender list with all of you. Or should we just have our own little list apart from b2b cruisers? It would be nice to meet all DISers cruising that week.

:welcome: Aboard!! The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned!! We don't have an FE going on here yet, but I'm sure we will eventually.

Hey BigRed1....everything OK where you are? I know you're in Tennessee and I just wanted to check in with you after all these tornados. My parents are in Tennessee too, but they are safe. Was just wondering if you were?

You are so nice to think of us for the FE! :flower3: I can't speek for everyone here, but I know my group wont be participating in FE's this time around....:scared1: We had lots of fun doing it on our last cruise, but that was a 7 day, and I was just worried about doing the B2B and having two seperate groups to do it for and delivering twice on such a large ship, twice the expense etc. I know this is very "unDisney" of me...but I know everyone who does participate will have such a blast! Since the kids did love finding surprises we will be putting our FE out, but we will fill it ourselves, so when you see some out that aren't on your list don't think you forgot someone, it's just us being "unDisney". :hippie:
There are others on here that I'm sure would love to join the FE though! I hope you guys have a great time with it!

Thank you. We are fine. The worst of the storms were south and east of us. We are in Lebanon, 30 miles east of Nashville on I-40. There was some damage in the area, but nothing like what Alabama got. I have a friend in Tuscaloosa who is safe, and he says it is absolute devastation in Tuscaloosa. Thanks again for asking!

Glad to hear you are OK BigRed1!

It looks like we will be booking Comfort Suites for our first day in Nassau so we can go to Atlantis. I'm going to try to get it done this week. We've been to Nassau before on another cruise line, but not to Atlantis so I am really excited. Two out of my 3 kids love waterslides, and my youngest loves being in the pool, so I'm hoping it will be a good day. Anyone else planning on going there during our cruise?

We have been to Nassau 2 times. We will go to Atlantis and drop a few quarters in the one arm bandits, but I suspect that would be about it. Will probably stay on the ship one of those Nassau days. Where is everyone staying before the cruise?? Radisson has a great pool beverage center that is great to meet around, great place for a dis-meet!! :scratchin

We are planning on staying on the ship for our second stop in Nassau. We also have our hotel booked already for before the cruise. My family, including extended, is staying at the ressidence inn. I do like the pool at Raddison, we stayed there in 2006, but we booked with points, and we need the bigger rooms....:teacher:

On a side note....WE ARE ON PAGE 7! :cool1:

Hey BigRed remember me from the 4 day in 2006? I was this close to booking the 10/4 and ended up doing a mid December instead.

If our plans hadn't chaged it would have been great to have a drink with you on CC...hopefully not in the rain!

Have a great trip and don't go into the hot tub with your wave phone! :lmao:

Oh yeah I remember Spectrum-Turbo!! I was the list keeper for that cruise. I just recently deleted all of my old cruise lists. I'm not good with names, but it's Stacy, I think, from the Houston area?? Would love to have Konk Kooler with you again, however it was the other Alan, 1971Visitor, that took the beeper for a swim! You would think they would make those things waterproof!! I am jealous!! I would love to do a Christmas cruise. Maybe we will get together on another cruise sometime! We all had a great time thanks to The Dis!!

Well, the girls and I have finished our countdown chain, and I must say....it's not that long! :cool1: Our last countdown chain was completed about a year and a half before cruise time, so this one seems very short. ;) We also have the majority of our magnets printed and about half of them laminated.

OK people, it's time to wake up! We only have 4 1/2 months to go....and for people with kids, that includes summer vacation and we all know how FAST that goes by.

OK, I'm awake! :yay: I have been reading several trip reports from the Dream cruises and have learned lots of interesting stuff!:surfweb:

We are staying at the Hyatt at MCO again and taking DCL bus to port, so was really happy to learn we can now totally check in there. (KTTW cards, boarding passes, the works!)

Also as Platinum Castaway Club members, We are already planning our reservations for June 4th & 8th. We know we want Palos for dinner and brunch and thought we would like to try Remy's as well. However, after reading Remy's menu and seeing the price for dinner, we have decided not to book it. I don't like seafood of any kind and my wife doesn't like lobster or shrimp. Also I wouldn't care for "sweet breads" or other exotic fare. :scared1: Neither of us are wine drinkers either (we prefer cocktails) so I just couldn't justify the cost for food I won't eat. So, we will just peek into Remy's during the day and maybe book an extra dinner at Palos instead.:thumbsup2

Hi SIL. We're here too. I think that I'm going to need you to quit your job so we can talk Dis everyday again. This East coast West coast time change really doesn't make planning easy when we both work..:lmao:

Laura, I was thinking the same thing....this job does cut into my disboards and planning time.

Glad to see life on the thread again. We will be staying at the Hyatt also, but we will be staying there Friday night only. Our flight gets in at close to midnight. Then we will get our rental car on Saturday and head to the Residence Inn at the port(maybe with a detour to Downtown Disney).

It's time to start planning for our cruise! Just got done making the car rental reservation for the return trip back to WDW after the cruise with Budget. Staying at AKL Kidani 2 days prior and 1 day after the cruise!

Now just need to determine if Remy will be on or off this cruise and of course make Palo reservations. We haven't been to Nassau before, so will look at the excursions to see if anything strikes my fancy. seems like a lot of people I talk with just stay on the ship at Nassau. That can't be a good thing, but since we'll be making two trips I'll find something to do.

A little over 4 months before the trip starts and about 2 before making reservations. Anyone know if your move up to Gold after the first cruise can you make reservations sooner than 75 days?
