October 1st-40th anniversary and our wedding??!!

So I just realized that our wedding date October 1st 2011 is also the exact same day as Disneys 40th anniversary and im freaking out a little. Yes, we are having a memories collection wedding, so just us two, but im worried about make reservations as far as dinner and shoot, even the wedding(which I book on Friday AM!) Does anyone think that I will have an issue booking?

Does anyone else know of anything going on, or large crowds of people, espically around MK area?

Wine and Dine Marathon. Not sure of the route, but it starts at 10pm and presumable the crowds will hit MK during the day. May not be an issue for dinner reservations- they have to check in earlier in the evening.

You haven't held the wedding location yet? If it's held, it's held. Booked when the signed contract and deposit are received.

I don't think you have anything to worry about in connection with the anniversary—the online community is pretty grumbly about Disney's failure to commemorate the anniversary. I mean, they may have a small ceremony in the MK that morning, but so far Disney is pretty much ignoring the event other than slapping a 40th Anniversary logo on some merchandise.

Very good to know! Well for Memories Weddings you can only book 6 months in advance and on Friday it will be April 1st, exactly 6 months for our date! So that countdown of when we can finally book will be over!

I have been bugging them all week, and they keep telling me no until Friday...boo!
Normally after you call DFTW line how long is it until you can pay your deposit? They told me I had to get a cordinator first, but I just want to be able to call and get the date held on friday!

Prob not a problem as long as your venue's not already reserved. I have an event at Grand Fla that day. Breathe.

I agree with Lurkyloo and congrats!! That's actually our wedding day as well but we are getting married on the beach and will honeymoon at Disney starting on the 2nd!!
