October 1st, 2011 Western Caribbean on the Magic!

One thing holding us back was going there by ourselves. Maybe we all could group together.

it is still very hot here in florida so expect warm weather, especially if you will be going to the parks before the cruise
we are all getting very excited
the kids are looking forward to making new friends

I am so excited - 3 more days of work (Sat., Sun, and Wednesday) and then next Sat AM we'll be headed out to Port Canaveral for 7 lovely days on the Magic - WOO HOO!!!

May I ask where/when is meet up ? I'm traveling with three other couples who are not DIS'ers.....but maybe I can sneak away ?

We have two DIS meets on the ship. Add these dates to your list of to-dos!
DISers wanted a second option in case they could not make it to Saturday's meet.

DIS Meet on Saturday, October 1 at 3 pm
Promenade Lounge - deck 3 midship​

DIS Meet on Monday, October 3 at 2:30 pm
Diversions - deck 3 forward​

Kids are allowed in Diversions until 9pm.

Two weeks ago I triple checked with my husband that he had 2 weeks of vacation for this trip. He said "yes" His vacation weeks run Thursday to Thursday so you need 2 in order to take the cruise. So I found out today, just by accident that he only has 1 week of vacation for this trip. For those following along the story that means on Thursday the 6th while we are sailing from Cozumel to CC he needs to report for duty at 3pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOO irritated with him. Now he has to scramble to find people to switch days with. Does anyone know if "stupidity" is covered under travel insurance??

Oh, Allison.

Hopefully your DH can manage to get 3 days coverage for himself. Is his employer/boss understanding about a situation like this and will give him 3 extra vacation days without finding coverage?

Allison ! Oh no.....that's a terrible amount of stress. How easy will it be for your husband to get coverage ? I know at my work, that would spell disaster. Keep us posted. Fingers crossed ! Pixie dust sent !



wmurphy1.....I've got today, Sunday, Monday and Tues Had to cram all my shifts together in order to get 12 days off. And to make matters worse, my Tues shift is an 11 pm to 7:30 am shift. And my plane leaves at 4 pm the next day. Somewhere on Wed I've got to squeeze in a few hours to sleep.

5pm. The ship was completely past the webcam by 5:21pm. It is great; they really get close ups of people! You can watch the Dream sail away at 5pm today if you want to get an idea of what it looks like.

Two more 12 hr shifts for me (today & Wed) & then packing to do before next Sat!!! Next Sunday we'll be in Key West
