Good Afternoon!

Thought I would check in. We moved into the new building
today. I am feeling a little overwhelmed right now. The building is about 3 times a big as the last one. I am still trying to find my away around.

We had a surprise Birthday/Anniversary party for my parents
on Saturday Patty came up. We gave them a train ride weekend. We staying overnight in Durango then riding the train. I am really excited, I have never been on the train. Oh did I mention that most of the family is going with them.

Barb

Barb, the train ride will be great. I have always wanted to do it. The price stopped us when the girls were little. Have fun!

Well, poor Heidi. From 300 down to 51 on jury duty and of course she is one of the 51. It will be a civil trial that will last about 5 weeks. It will mess up her trip to DC, an R&R trip to Vegas, and her long birthday weekend. Let's just say she is not a happy camper.

Back from my 16 day vacation marathon but I had such a good time! Just home from New Orleans & had a great time with Bobby. We did so much:hug:. Great company, great weather, great food & great fun::yes:: ::yes::. California was beautiful too! My daughter lives in a "studio" apartment that is smaller then her bedroom at home (that was a little depressing).

My birthday came & went while I was in the air flying home from California. Bob bought me a beautiful diamond heart necklace & gave me a gift certificate for a day at a Spa. He is the best! Still haven't discussed the cruise:boat: with him again but he doesn't do well in HEAT:headache:.

Missed you all :grouphug: but have to pay bills before I can catch up on the boards. After I pay bills I'll be back! Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Wow, took me half an hour to catch up on the board!
Barb, does Bob really have to go overseas?
Yes, to peanut butter and bananas.
Ditto on disliking woodpeckers.
Oh, I'm too tired to remember all of the replies I was thinking of while reading!
Crazy weekend just about over... and it's Tuesday morning. I need to get to bed so I can get up in 5 hours... but NO, gotta check the board. See how addicted I am to all of you? At the dear cost of sleep deprivation, here I am!
Saturday was a Girlscout activity from 7:30 till 12, then a baby shower for Katies teacher, then, oh I forgot what kept me up too late that night,,, then Sunday morning I volunteered at the 9News health fair (5 hours with a stethoscope going in and out of my ears doing BP's. My ear canals are raw!, then home to have 32 people and 4 dogs for Katie's birthday party/family BBQ/Gracies birthday party. All arraigned by Katie. Then off to the pet store till it closed, for Katie to spend her gift cards on things for JoJo. Then up this morning to get the kids off to school, home to burn the first batch of rice crispy treats for Katie's class, to store for more marshmallow, next three batches were good, then to school with JoJo to Katie's class birthday treat, then serve lunch, then prep tonights girlscout meeting, then go pick them all up from school, then, the meeting, then I think I was in a Coma for an hour, because it slipped by... then a paper on Calcium for Katie's science class, then go by report covers, ..... Oh, I'll spare you all the really busy part. I need a couple of hours sleep before tomorrow LOL:crazy:

(wow, that sounded really whiny-butt) Sorry, thanks for listening:rolleyes:
Love ya'll, meanin' it.
Lori

Lori - I always love your posts that remind me that I am not too busy (compared to you)!lol

Poor Heidi. I hate that she will miss her Las Vegas and DC trips. Maybe something will happen and they will settle out of court this week!!! If so and DC happens, as long as we are not somewhere else for a hockey tournament, I'll make the roadtrip to DC. Gotta see you guys and meet Heidi! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Having 5 boys wasn't so bad until Turner had enough! Thanks goodness that was when it was less than an hour before they all went home! I think Turner finally had meltdown. They all had a lot of energy. So, we hauled them in the van and put a video in and they settled down. Problem solved. They all live 30 minutes to 60 minutes away!! Long story short, we had 2 of them while there parents were out of town looking at houses. Their Dad got a new job and they are moving. We had to drop them off at a neighbors Sunday evening to make it easier for them to get to school on Monday. Then, what's 2 more right?? We took 2 more home with us from hockey practice. They are all good kids and we'd do it again. I will admit I had to open a bottle of wine mid day on Sunday!!

Gotta run. I've spent too much typing and now I'm running late! My usual morning routine!!

Later!

Sandy, I love it. Thank you for posting.

Boy, you guys are so busy. The weather here is unbelievably fabulous. Yesterday was about 80 and today it's in the 70's.:sunny: I LOVE IT!
Day off today, go to run lots to do.
see ya all later,
Faith:wave:

:wave2: Hi Jeanne, welcome back. We sure missed you! Can't wait to hear all about your trip(s).

Denine, how is that house hunting-decision making coming along? Sure wish it was ME!

Lori, yummy (not)! Burned rice krispies. I got tired just thinking about everything that you did. Gotta go take a nap now.

Faith, I KNEW YOU would love that site. I would love to figure out how to burn it so that I could have the music and the pics. Maybe Eugene would know how. I know of another spot where he has put on more pics. I will send it over to you via email.

Nothing new with Heidi. She will find out her destiny today. Either way she will be back into work tomorrow through the rest of the week. The trial will begin next week. It would be so great if she can go to DC. I would love to see you again Susan and Heidi would be so tickled to meet you.

Gotta run. I am looking to buy Beauty and the Beat. I have to check out Amazon.com. for it. In case you don't know what it is it is Disney songs steel drum style.

Yeah!!! It's Tuesday. For REAL. My free time day, yippee. (I have so much to catch up on:p )

Got to run! So good to have this place to catch up with friends... at any hour.
Hugs to you all!
Lori

Lori: I need a nap after reading your post!

Poor Heidi. I hope it won't be as bad as Jerry's was last year.

I need some decision making help:
1.) sun in the back of the house where the kitchen and family room are OR a somewhat larger lot?

2.) A slightly smaller house and pricetag that I can add quite a number of upgrades to OR a bigger house that I can't really add any upgrades to?

3.) a "main" street view OR a "development" street view OR a farm view with silver outbuildings?

4.) 9' ceilings with 42" cabinets OR 8' ceilings with normal height cabinets?

5.) Open foyer OR closed foyer?

We are going to view the model of the house we priced out last night. We haven't seen it yet.

Jeanne: Welcome back! It sounds like you had loads of fun!

Sue: It sounds like you survived your weekend with 5 boys.

Wow, Denine, talk about decisions!

1. Knowing you, I think that you should go for the sun in the back of the house. Keep in mind tho, what side of the street for melting the snow in front of your house the fastest.
2.Slightly smaller home to get what you want now because maybe in the future you can't afford to do more.
3. Keep in mind that the farm view might turn into a housing development or perhaps even retail development a few years down the road.
4.9' ceilings with taller cabinets because you always need extra storage.
5.Closed foyer. Just cuz.

Hi Everyone!!

Still trying to find my way around the building!

Denine here is my 2 cents worth.

The sun is at the back of our house where our family room is
I would never choose another house like that. It is so dang hot in the afternoon it is unbearable!

Open foyer. It makes the house look bigger. We have a very open house and I love it.

I would go for the bigger house instead of the upgrades because you can always add later.

bigger cabnets for sure. Lots of storage!

Got my Mom and Dad's trip all planned now back to Disney plans!

Barb:smooth:

Barb has some good points about the open foyer. I am still mixed on the smaller vs. bigger home. Just depends on how soon you would want the upgrades. If you want it now, the smaller but if you are the kind that waits patiently, definitely the bigger home.

Definitely the 5th anniversary of the Columbine shootings. The neighborhood is crawling with the media. Katie Couric for sure. They have plans to close one street. I was thinking about going to the candlelight vigil but it is sooo windy and cold that I don't think I will. We would walk there and then have to sit out in the open amphitheater.

I bought the Beauty and the Beat, steel drum Disney music, CD. Now I can't wait to get it. I thought that I would use it when I burn my picture CD. I wish I had a Disney Christmas CD like they play in the parks!! Anyone know of a cool CD that is instrumental like when you are at the park??

Talked to Heidi. They like her for a number of reasons. One she is the youngest and another one because of her daycare background. She warned them of her migraines but they don't care. So......if she gets one they will have to turn to an alternate juror. Can't say she didn't warn them! She is already stressed and is having headaches over this.

Sandy I know the Columbine issue is a very emotional issue for you. You must live really close. Did the girls attend school there during that?? Did they have friends there??

I know it is not pleasent memories for you. I was just kind of curious.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the familys from Columbine, it's so sad. Wow it's been 5 years already.

I like the open foyer it does make the house look bigger.
try to get large closets and I would go for a very large kitchen. But if you buy a small home now you can always upgrade at a later date. Best of luck.

Faith, I KNEW YOU would love that site. I would love to figure out how to burn it so that I could have the music and the pics. Maybe Eugene would know how. I know of another spot where he has put on more pics. I will send it over to you via email.

**yes I did love that site. I will ask Eugene if he can do that. I love how the pics fit in with the music.

Barb, Columbine is very close. For some odd reason the dividing line was drawn kind of crazy. The girls could actually have walked there but had to take a bus or drive to a farther away school. (Thank goodness). We are so close that I could hear what was going on over at the school. I was home. We lost a friend that the girls played with, my mom's bf's family lost a family member and a friend's son was shot but survived. Of course we knew numerous others there but got away. One girl that I babysat for years ago from 6 mos. to 9 or 10 was actually in the cafeteria and saw a lot. Her brother didn't see anything.

faith, Ted and a friend is trying to help me get those pictures off the threads with the music. Cross your fingers. If I do, do you want me to burn you one also??

HEIDI WAS DISMISSED !! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :hyper: ::yes:: :jumping1:

Oh wow, you guys won't believe this. It has been a cloudy day with some sun and lots and lots of wind. The ceremonies are beginning at the park next to Columbine and now the sun is shining so beautifully and the wind has quit. We just saw and heard the fighter jets flyover. It just makes me so teary. I am glad for the families.

Quick note to Heidi:

YIPPEEE!!!

Now, let's get that DC trip planned!! I'm ready for a "non-hockey" roadtrip!!

As for hockey, we leave Friday morning at 6:00 for Pittsburgh and won't get back 'til around midnight Sunday night.

Denine - bigger house, open foyer, larger cabinets!

I'll try to check in before I get ready in the morning. Miss you guys!

Later!
