Ok, today was a downer all away around! The weather here stinks! The Big Guy has the cold/virus that Makenzie had late last week. They both have horrible coughs! NO ONE slept in this house last night! Garry worked in the ice storm and Brooke seems to have something wrong with her left eye. It keeps watering and getting "eye junk" in the corner of her eye. I think that it is a blocked tear duct, but not sure. I will call the doctor tomorrow for sure.

My sister in law's grandmother died this morning.

AND.... my mother goes in for hip replacement surgery this morning.(wednesday)! So please send some pixie dust our way! They said the surgery will be about 3 hours and then an hour in recovery. Hopefully she will do well and the doctor will let her come home this weekend. She has been in pain for soooo long, I know she will feel alot better once she has this done.

I definitely need the calgon here too! A whiny 2 year old, a fussy baby and a 4 year old who needs to whine too because everyone else is! I just really hope that Garry won't get sick working out in this horrible weather! He needs the calgon too! Boy are people dumb when it comes to bad weather!

Bonnie, so to hear about your co worker. What a way to go back to work. I'm surprised that no on e told you about her when you were out on medical leave.
Also, sorry to hear about Pam! Sure hope this doesn't scare her back into living with you! Sounds a little fishy about her being broken into already, wonder if there is "something" more to this apt. I'd be changing EVERYTHING from locks to window locks to door jams to everything!

Susan, glad to hear that you are ok! This icy weather is the pits! I don't mind snow, but when the ice and freezing rain hits, forgettaboutit!

No news on the AnnaMarie situation yet. We talk every Wed, so we shall see if anything was said at her mother's house. I told Garry that if Cheryl (the other mom) won't let Anna Marie change homes, that maybe Anna Marie could call down to the courts and tell them her situation and how to go about changing her residency. All I know is that this won't be settled over night.

Well, gonna go. Will check back in later today after my moms surgery.

P. S. Garry just called and said that our local dirt bag watering hole has cause a boat load of trouble tonight! So his gonna be running his *** oops I mean rear end off tonight!

Have a much better day today EVERYONE!!!

Stanley needed to go out and now I can't get back to sleep. So, here I am checking in.

Patty - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You all have surely had lot to deal with lately. I hope they can help Ken's mom. Little Dylan has a lot of prayers going his way. I hope they get some information that will help them. We don't always understand but God does have a purpose for al theat happens. Continue to keep your faith in him.

Bonnie - Sorry to hear about Pam's break-in. Be careful in this weather. You'll get through the email and get caught up soon. Just take it slowly and don't over do it.

Speaking of cruises. My mom's flight out was Monday night for her 21 day cruise around South America and northern Antarctica. She was so worried about the length of time they were going to be gone. At least they got out of Charlotte with no problem despite the weather. I really hope she has a wonderful trip.

I am so sore from the fall. I guess I'll take some more Advil and go back to bed. The alarm will be sounding soon.

Love to all.

What a wlk I am in for this morning! WIll have to leave extra extra early!

Julie-They may send your mom to rehab after the hip replacement...most go for about a week then go home. Hope all start to feel better. Pam's house was broken into...not the new apt...she doesn't have that until the 15th. She mentioned the possibility of me moving into the house with her until the move!! I just let it slip by!

Patty-glad you liked the frame...I thought you could put a picture of Dylan in it...the cruiser picture was a bit of a joke! LOL! Sorry to hear about your MIL.

Sue-your mom was really lucky her flight wasn't cancelled! Sounds like a terrific cruise! Keep popping that Advil!

Sandy- Maybe we can all go on the Alaska cruise!!!!!! Lori might like that one!

Not a good start to the year for anyone by the sounds of things...let's all make a pact that things will get better! 2004 will rock!!!

Julie - I guess you posted while I was typing during the wee hours of the morning. Here's some pixie duct!!!*'*'* Hope everyone gets better soon! Good luck to your mom for her surgery. Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's grandmother.

Bonnie - as I said before, BE CAREFUL slip sliding in this morning!

I think everone needs some Calgon!!

My back feels a little better but I believe I got a little whiplash when I fell. My neck is very sore this morning. I'll keep popping the Aleve and Advil.

We're supposed to get in the 40s today. I wish it would hurry. I'll be leaving around 9:30 for work this morning. Mybe it wil be above 32 by then.

I'll check in this evening.

Take care everyone, love to all!

Golly, we are a sorry bunch, aren't we?

Kaleigh is miserable this morning. Her cough loosened up and she just coughs and coughs then cries. I feel so bad for her! I gave her cough syrup last night so we could all sleep. She got tylenol t his morning and is now napping. She just sat on my lap with her blankie for about 40 minutes watching TV. She NEVER does that.

Julie: Hope you mom does well this morning. Let us know. Hope everyone in you house feels better soon. Keep us posted on Anna Marie. I imagine her mom is not going to make this easy!

Bonnie: Just take you time getting adjusted back to work. Don't stress out! Sorry about Pam's break-in. That can be scary!

Patty: Sorry about your MIL. I hope she makes a turn for the better soon! Let us know when you find out something about Dylan.

Sue: I hope you feel better. At least you didn't hit that other car.

Jerry and I are both fighting to stay well. I am battling a slightly scratchy throat, Jerry's is worse. Hopefully we will all be fixed by next week.

Unbelievable posts to read today. Pixie dust is sent to each and every one of you. I am so sorry to hear about all the ailments.

I almost feel guilty posting. We are doing fine here. Roads are dry except for the side streets. No big deal. I hear you guys just keep getting it. I am sorry. We are to get some more snow on Saturday.

Julie, I tried calling your cell phone today. I didn't have your home phone programmed into my cell phone. Anyway, I was at Mervyns and they were having a terrific clearance sale. The baby clothes were unbelievabley cute and cheap. I thought that if you had a Mervyns out your way that you might want to try going. Now I know you couldn't even if you wanted to. Hope everything went well for your mom.

Where is Jeanne? Too madly in love to check in?

Bonnie, be careful going to work tomorrow. Maybe it will be closed due to the weather. I'd love for all of us to go on the Alaskan cruise. It will be a Princess cruise. We need to save so it won't be for a couple of years.

Denine, sorry about Kaleigh. Jerry and you take care of yourselves!

Susan, your fall had to be a very nasty one. Keep soaking those poor achey muscles. I bet you wish you were on the cruise with your mom! I know I do!!

Patty, my gosh. When it rains it pours! You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope everyones day will be better tomorrow!
Love, Sandy

It took me 10 pages to catch-up & the last page was really depressing. What are you all the "Typhoid Mary" bunch? I'm afraid to post anything because I may catch a BUG!

Well Bobby & I left Friday morning for the Poconos in Pennsylvania for a LOOONNNGGG weekend & just got home today. It snowed everyday! We went skiing, to the flea market, outlet shopping, ate lots of different foods & sat in front of the roaring fire every night. He cooked a few nights too! What more could I ask for in a man!:love2: All I can say is that he is KIND & not just to me - to his family, strangers, friends, etc. He has a kind soul:angel: IT IS LOVE:happy1: but now comes the hard part - working out the logistics! His company just started & he doesn't know where he will end up living but it's nice to know I have "family" all over.

Sorry I missed the "CHAT" & present opening but I think I will be mostly home this weekend because I encouraged Bobby to go home to Virginia without me so he can see his son (he is going to Iraq soon).

I rambled on again...... Hope you all have a great week. My Dodger dog is coming home today. I miss my boy! Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Feeling better today and most of the roads have cleared up since we made it to the 40s today. We may hit 50 tomorrow. My neck and shoulders are still sore but I'll be OK. I worked today and it wasn't too bad.

We need a good rollof the dice for all of us. Unfortunately, Sandy, I hear your next storm may be our next storm for Monday/Tuesday and then there may be another one the end of next week. I sure hope that far out that they are wrong.

I've been thinking of you all today. I hope everyone had a good day!

Love to all!

p.s. When's the next chat??

Jeanne-good for you...it sounds like you found a terrific man. It sounds like he knows how to take care of you. But at the same time he is taking you away from us!!! LOL! Did you open your present??? Who was it from and what did you get?

Tired here...but only today and tomorrow to go! Too much work to catch up on but not enough time! 2 hours of meetings yeaterday didn't help.

Had a good case...one of our members took a nose dive (literally) off a cruise ship in Barbados...we have to airlift him back here...fielding calls from the embassy, port agent etc. I won't say which ship...but the line is known for their partying! And why do I like DCL????

Stay warm all!! Not too bad walking here, at least in my neighborhood...I guess that is why I pay association fees! The apt. complex that I cut through is another story...I needed ice skates in there!

Good to hear from you Jeanne. You are missed when you are gone for so long. Bobby sounds wonderful. Only one problem to me.......he keeps you away from us.

Susan, glad that you are doing better. Sorry that we send our storms your way!

Bonnie, I agree. Why do we sail DCL? Hight today 55 and tomorrow 57 so we will stay warm. You try too. I am tired too. I just couldn't sleep between 1:00 and 3:30 and then I had to wake up at 6:00. YUCK! I get Noah and Graci again today so it will be Ambush Makeover for me during naptime.

Lori, checked out our new Walmart Supercenter yet? It opened last Wed. They were bussing people from a church parking lot. How crazy is that?

Jeanne, I was just drying my hair and thinking of you. I was thinkinbg about how happy you are and how lucky you found Bobby. And then I realized.....that he is the lucky one. He found a wonderful woman! Love you Jeanne!

Aaaw, Jeanne. Ain't LOVE grand?

Running late but had to check in. Life here is on an even keel, so can't complain. Pixie *'*'* to everyone with ouches, owies, sniffles and worries.
Take care, take an extra peek around for all of our blessings.
Hugs, Lori

UGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to take Kaleigh to the doctor this morning because she just keeps getting more miserable. Last night was a scream fest every time we tried to put her to bed, plus she doesn't want to drink anything. Our appointment was for 10:15. We finally got in about 11:15. I had to stand most of the time with a crying, miserable baby. I was almost in tears myself. Kaleigh has double ear infections! I was afraid that was the problem. He gave me some samples of ATB's so I didn't have to go to the pharmacy right away, plus a prescription. She wouldn't eat any lunch (tomato soup) and won't touch her sippy cup or a bottle. She did eat a good breakfast (oatmeal). She is sleeping right now. I hope to get more fluids in her after her nap. I'll try the soup again.

We can't get out of Dodge fast enough. We leave 1 week from today.

Jeanne: It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! We have been to the Poconos a few times. We like the Caesar's Cove Haven Resort.

Jerry and I are still fighting to not get any worse sick.

For those of us who did not chat or did not get to stay for long, who had who and what did everyone get?

Jerry made reservations for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern for next Friday. We have never eaten there. Our 1st choice was Chef Mickey's for dinner, but they didn't have anything early enough. This was the 2nd choice.

Hi Denine, sorry about Kaleigh but at least she got sick BEFORE the trip. It would be horrible for the little one to be so sick on vacation! Liberty Tree TAvern is suppose to be good. I am sure you will enjoy it.

We like the Caesar's Cove Haven Resort

OHH!!! Denine!!! Heart shaped beds and champagne glass jacuzzi's???? Hmmm!!! It's always the innocent looking ones! LOL!
Sorry...couldn't resist the tease! I hope Kaleigh is feeling better. Once the antibiotic takes hold she'll be right as rain, or snow or better yet sunshine and warmth!

Got a ride into work and home today! Yea!! It felt good not to have to walk in this cold. Although it is a balmy 24 degrees right now...not too bad.

One more day of work...yahoo!!!

Finally thawing out here!

I hope you all pull for the Panthers Sunday in the Super Bowl. We are so excited. My brother is going to the game and so is Turner's god-father. We're going to a party at a friend's house. I really hope they take it all the way!!!

I am taking the day off tomorrow to chaperone Turner's class field trip. Since this is Catholic Schools Week they get to have a fun day so his class is going ice skating. Of course this is right up Turner's alley. We'll be decked out in our Panther t-shirts. I won't be skating. I had my run in with ice this week!!

Glad you have Kaleigh on antibiotics. Flying with those ears not treated would have be horrible. It's amazing how quickly they respond to antibiotics. Tomorrow should be a much better day!! Sunshine and warmth are just a few short days away.

Bonnie - glad you had a ride today. Hope the weekend brings yu some rest. I'm sure it was rough getting back into the routine this week.

Jeanne's in LOVE! Jeanne's in LOVE! Jeanne's in LOVE! Jeanne's in LOVE! So glad to hear you are so happy!!!

Love to all!

I finally get logged on to lurk, and I found it on the 3rd page. Where is everybody?.....Frozen I am guessing!!! Hope everyone is making it through, Pixie dust to everyone who is having a bad week. I was hoping to come into a busy thread, but NO!!!! What am I supose to do on my break if I can't snoop in on all of you!!! Let's get this thread back on the first page!!!!! TGIF!!!!!

We got good news on Dylan. He does have a hereditary eye condition but its not cone dystrophy (it is a form of it though) its
called achromatopsia. Its basically the same thing but it is not
progressive and does not lead to blindness. It occurs in 1 out of 33,000 people and is almost always diagnosed as cone dystrophy. Johns Hopkins is probably the only place they could have taken him for a correct diagnosis.

The symptoms are almost identical and he will have significant vision loss but it is not progressive like cone dytrophy and doesn't lead to blindness. Some call it "stationery cone dystrophy". He is colorblind (but aren't most men?) he sees only shades of black and gray. He will always have to protect his eyes from light and won't be able to drive still because of the light sensitivity and his vision will probably be very poor, but the sports weren't ruled out. They said that depends on him, what he wants to do, and his abilities.

Julie just called me again and said they are getting ready to sedate Dylan so they can dilate his eyes and clamp them open to do a thorough exam of the rods. This, I guess, will allow them to determine a little more accurately what his future holds.

To anyone else this would all be bad news but since we already had the worst scenario given to us, it was very positive for us. We feel like the Lord gave us a miracle thanks to everyones thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best.

Ken's mother is not faring as well. Ken was very up about her yesterday, saying she was more alert and letting him feed her broth, but this morning he said she's back to where she was. He is afraid to leave her because he left his Dad when he well on the road to recovery and then he suddenly died of an anyorism (sp) while he was waiting to be discharged. Then his sister died only a few hours before we arrived. Bless his heart, he and Sissy are under so much stress right now.

Patty: Good news about Dylan! And, since he is just a baby, who knows, maybe they will find a way for him to really see sometime in the future. They are working with bionic eyes now. Sorry Ken's mom is not doing any better.

Bonnie: No champagne glass jacuzzi's, just the heart shaped ones and of course the personal swimming pool. ;) It has been several years since we have been there for one reason or another, but we won't drive there in the winter. I guess it will be some time before we go back with Miss Kaleigh around. Glad you got a ride to work.

Jerry is working from home today. All 3 of us are sick, officially. Better this week than next! Kaleigh is feeling some better. The decongestant/antihistamine is really helping. She is drinking better today. I hardly got any fluids down her yesterday.

Have to get packing this weekend.

Sue: Enjoy your super bowl party. Haven't been to one of those in years. But, we are not football people. Now, a World Series party with the Indians being the winners would be a different story!

Julie: How is your mom?

SANDY: It was so great talking with you today. Let's make it a weekly thing!:chat:

JULIE: Loved talking with you too! Get that family well.

THE FLOYD's: Finally opened my "secret santa" surprise & I absolutely love my Mickey's Through the Years. I love the glass ornaments because they shine so nice on the tree. I can't wait until next year to see them on the tree. I may have to put the tree up in October next year!

Bobby went to his home in Midlothian, Virginia, for the weekend. The first weekend we have been apart. :worried: :worried:

Sandy & Julie have to keep the "secret". This will get everyone thinking:scratchin.

Hope you all have a terrific weekend. Try to stay warm. Maybe a group hug? :grouphug: Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE
