Sandy! My Stylist was one of the people on Ambush Makeover!!! I was sooooo excited! Liz-the person who did the makeup on the Philadelphia girl is my stylist! Too Cool!!!!!!!!!!

Off to work tomorrow....ewwwwww! In freezing rain, sleet and snow! Oh to be one of the Hilton heirs!!! I would behave better of course...maybe.

You guys are probably tired of me today but I got to reading Krista's poem included in our gift and wanted to share it with you all. It was so crazy that night opening that I didn't do her gifts justice. Here goes: Merry Christmas to All
Socks for the girls
Blackjack for Ted
Crafts for the Kids
And a snowman for "Red"

All bundled up with a ribbon and bow
The Armstrong's hope your Christmas
Is one fabulous show!!!

Merry Christmas to all
Who may appear at your home
With arms open wide
There is no where else to roam.

It started with the mouse
And has grown so much more
What can we all do,
But cruise in "04

Best wishes to you
In this most fabulous of seasons
Remember that friendship
Is also the reason.
Thanks Krista for everything. If you guys don't get it, we got toe socks for Stacey and Heidi, a blackjack game for Ted, a craft project for Noah and Graci, and a snowman candle holder for "red". Oops, I mean me. Also, a very nice bread basket.

STAY WARM, everyone.

Hello.

Icey, snowy, weather here too. It is yucky outside!

Julie: How funny! When Jerry and I left your house the other night, we said that if Anna Marie had her way she would live with you guys. I hope it works out.

Had my doctor appointment this morning. He did more blood work for mono and epstein-barre. He gave me a B12 shot and wants me to come in once a week for 4 weeks for one. He also wrote a prescription for vitamins. I guess we will see what happens.

Sandy/Krista: Loved the poem!

Bonnie: Yeah for the new apartment dweller! How was your first day back at work?

Barb: We have our cabin, but I'd have to go look it up.

Garry: So where are we getting the money for the new Queen Mary? Or is this your treat?

Hi everyone, this is Heidi. I am in training all week so I cannot log in under my screen name. I just wanted to thank Krista for my toe socks. I chose the candy cane ones. They will come in handy with this cold weather that we are having. Thanks for remembering me. :D Heidi

Hey all,
I hope AnnaMarie gets her way. Might take some patience, but be worth it.
QueenMary II sounds kinda cool. Just saw a show in it last night in fact. Still being locked into your really big resort hotel though... I wonder what kind of ports of call would be along the way?

Colorado is such a trip. The sun came out this morning and by afternoon most streets were completely dry. Gotta love Colorado.

Barb, the story behind Cat's is from a book. Trying to remember the name of it or where in this house it now is... but reading the book really helps. The Dr. I worked for bought it for me when he heard I was going to the show (about 12 years ago) so the advantage of having read the book was nice. I'd bet an amazon.com search would find it's name.

Krista, that was such a nice poem!

Hey Aunt Sandy, what kind of cookies are you ordering????
Thin Mints or Samoas?

Off to tally order forms. A day filled with meetings today! Yearbook assembling, valentines class parties planning, girlscouts then a den meeting. Getting Cody up early tomorrow to finish homework. Yuk. Goodnight all.

Barb, I found the name!!! (whatever did I do before Google...well, I took advantage of those nice reference desk librarians.. but, anyway)

The show is based on TS Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical
Cats"

Here's a clip from a review...
As the Jellicle cats perform in the hope of winning eternal life from their leader Old Deuteronomy, funky choreography and Webber's trademark operatic rock wooes our sympathy. The likes of Rum Tum Tugger, Mungojerie, Mr Mistoffelees and Grizabella interact with the audience with the gusto of at least nine lives.

OK, now I'm really going to tally forms!

I return to work today...but I just found out that a coworker has died...she was younger than me...late 30's. Very intelligent, witty, fun. She had leukemia and had undergone a bone marrow transplant. I really thought she would make it. She was a wonderful person. I had been her trainer when she first came to the company.

Icy walking so I plan to leave for work in about 1/2 an hour.

Cats is a collection of poems by T.S Elliot...each one capturing the personalities of the various cats.

Lori- no ports of call traveling transatlantic...just NY and then England. I saw on some news program that one retired woman sold her home and has been living on the QE II for the past 6 years!!! What a life!! Of course I would be as big as a house with all that food!

Krista-Terrific poem!!! I love it!

Julie-Wouldn't that be great to have Anna Marie!! She is a terrific young lady!

Hi Heidi!!!!

Patty-Did you ever open your gifts? Or are you still holding out! LOL!

Have a good day all.

Bonnie - sorry to hear about your co-worker. At least there is no more pain and suffering and she is at peace. Take it easy on the way to work ...and while at work.

Barb - glad you liked the frame. I thought you'd be able to put a picture from your recent trip with your family in it. You'll have to get everyone to help with the puzzle. I though it would be a good family activity. We did the same puzzle a year ago and loved it. It's very hard with the photomosaic pictures embedded in each piece. But, you'll love seeing all of the different scenes from Disney movies.

I only went in to work for a few hours yesterday. The office was open only from 11:00-3:00. Today we open at 10:00 but close at regular time. Turner's school is closed again today with a 2 hour delay tomorrow. What a storm we have had. When I ventured out yesterday, the side roads were still covered but the interstate was much clearer, but with limited lanes. We were supposed to get more ice last night but it looks like the storm broke apart before it got to us and the main part stayed south and east of us. Hard to believe it was 65 and we were in short sleeves on Saturday. It hasn't reached 30 in 3 days now. Today may make it to 33! But tomorrow we whould see mid to upper 40s.

Sounds like Old Man Winter has been getting around to all of us. Everyone take care and be careful.

Love ya.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Lori-Thanks for the run down on Cats. I really enjoyed seeing it. I watched the video last night and that hepled a lot. The stage they were on here was kind of small so we didn't get to see their true dancing talents, but in the video there was some fantastic dancing.

Krista/Sandy- Loved the poem. Such a talented group we have!!

Denine-Hope the vitamins help. I bet the Disney trip will help too.

Jeanne-Where are you, off with Bobby again??

Julie/Garry-I would LOVE to go to England....That would be fantastic. Great idea Garry, Prices??

Patty's daughter Julie is on her way to Baltimore today. They are going to the Childrens hospital to get more information on Dylans condition. Keep them in your prayers. He is such a doll. Lots of blond curls. Julie is the best Mommy. She keeps the family updated on everything she finds out about his condition. Maybe when she gets back Patty will post about they find out.

Barb:smooth:

Bonnie: Sorry about your co-worker. :(

Poor Kaleigh has a nasty cold. She spent the night coughing and I spent the morning wiping her poor nose. Hopefully she will be over it before next week. I may give her a decongestant for the plane ride anyway. We don't need an ear infection. Now, hopfully neither Jerry nor I catch it.

Barb: I hope they can find some answers for Dylan.

Here is the poem that Sally sent.

The Chosen One by Wendy Silva

An empty space that needed a child
to love in order to be fulfilled.
Then we saw you, and knew that
together a family we could build.

When you entered our home laughter
replaced the silence and harmony filled the air.
It was hard to imagine all the prayers and
sleepless nights, but finally you were there.

We were meant to be together no
matter what circumstances arose.
Because you, my precious one,
are the child that was chose.

Lori, I found your post very interesting. Our roads didn't dry up at all. Even Wadsworth by 5:00 was icy and snow packed in areas. Our side street hasn't even begun to melt. How funny, 5 miles can really make a difference. Write Aunt Sandy down for 2 boxes of Samoas.

Denine and Sally, loved the poem. Kaleigh is certainly a special chosen one.

Susan, I have been thinking alot about you and this storm. Be careful! Enjoy your time off with a nice hot bath in CALGON. ;)

Bonnie, I am so sorry about your co-worker but Susan put it perfectly. At least she is no longer in pain and is at peace.

While the England trip is inviting to us. I doubt that we would go. Hopefully our next trip will be to Alaska and that will be about the same price. We have wanted the Alaskan cruise for about 3 or 4 years now. We save and then, hmmmm, did anyone say "Disney"?

Laurie, you promised to post more. Where are you??? You have to keep promises, right?

Good morning everybody! Just thought I'd let you know I'm still alive and kickin!

I really intended to get in on the chat the other night but I completely spaced out a company dinner that started at 6. So sorry that I missed it. No, Bonnie I haven't opened my gift yet......guess I got so used to not being allowed to peek, I forgot that its time. Tonight though, will be Christmas again for me! :hyper:

Like Barb said, Julie is headed to Baltimore today and I'm so worried about the weather after reading what the eastern people have written on here. I don't know how close any of you are to Baltimore but if anyone knows how it is there, please let me know.

We're all praying, of course, for good news on Dylan but we'll deal with whatever we're given. Julie's ex-boss sent her an email yesterday that put it quite simply. He said, "Whatever the news is, know that God already had the information when he added Dylan to your llife. He already had the information as he lovingly and beautifully crafted Dylan's purpose on this earth. Nothing that you will hear over the next several days can alter God's plan for Dylan, in fact, God's plan for Dylan cannot unfold until you hear WHATEVER it is that you hear." That was the most comforting thing that I have heard or read since the day we found out that there was a problem.

Denine, I hope they find something soon to explain the way you are feeling. Its so frustrating knowing that you just aren't yourself but not know why or what to do about it.

Bonnie, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I can certainly relate to losing someone that was in pain. I'm glad you're back at work (you're probably not so happy about it huh?) :(

Sandy, thanks for all the info on the chat that I missed anyway  maybe next time.......

Welcome Heidi! Now that you're posting regularly, I guess I'm the Queen Lurker!

Julie, I'm crossing my fingers for Anna Marie and happy to hear how well Brooke has made her place in your family. Tell Garry I get cold just thinking about him having to work at night in that freezing weather  I'm a southern weather person now.

Hi to Susan, Lori, Krista, Barb, Mom, and anyone that I may have missed!

Sorry I wrote a book here......hope everyone is still awake

Patty, good to hear from you. You have been missed. Julie and Dylan are certainly in our prayers. Her ex-boss said some very comforting things.

Hi Patty! So great to hear from you. Dylan and his family are certainly in my prayers. Wow, Julie's ex-boss sounds like a gem. He said so much in so few words. I have to agree with the thought. It seems like we have lessons and growth to accomplish in our lives and some precious little souls are here just to help us accomplish our own life experience. Their 'soul purpose'. God knows what we can handle and must have great trust and faith in all of YOU to give you such a trial.
My prayers are for comfort and understanding, while keeping hope and optimism strong.

Sandy, when we were driving home from the mountains, we went thru three specific storms. Loveland, Genesse, and Wadsworth!
I've got you down for 2 Samoas, so we now have insurance for a lunch date sometime after Feb. 14th. Katie says "Thanks!"

No getting off the ship for a week! Aggh! I'd go nuts! No QM II for me, thanks.
That's a funny new DCL commercial where the Dad says "oh, I have lots of things planned to do" and naps everywhere.

OK, back to crazy life. Take care everyone. Think healthy and safe thoughts.

Not my day on the ice!!

Our neighborhood is a one street cul-de-sac with about 25 houses. The street has a steep hill at the top which has a slight curve in the hill. Some of my "wise" neighbors had left there cars on the sides of the street this morning on the hill. As I was leaving, another neighbor had pulled over and the other side of the street. I had to slow down and give up some momentum so I got caught in a backward slide...directly for one of the parked vehicles. When I can to a stop I was directly in from of a pickup truck with about a foot of space between us. I thought for sure I was going to hit it. So, I didn't go in to work today.

After quite a bit of scraping ice with flat shovel and spreading cat litter, Paul managed to get the car out and home. Unfortunately, by then I had taken a hard fall on the ice. So, Sandy, once again the Calgon did come in handy. I just got out of a long hot bath and I have taken some Aleve and Advil!! I am definitely going to feel this for a few days. Thank God I didn't break anything or hit that other vehicle.

As it turned out, work closed early again today and will be opening again late tomorrow. I know you guys in Colorado and up north must think I am crazy. But, we don't get it this bad that often. Ususally when we get ice like this it warms up and melts the same day. It has gotten up to about 33 and there is a little melting going on but not enough.

That's my whining for today. It would have been worse if I logged on before the Calgon. Thanks, Sandy!!! Love ya, mean it!

Later!

Oh my gosh Susan that is NOT whining!! You poor girl! I am so glad you didn't hit the car or break anything. You deserve to stay home and take a hot bath!!

Take it easy girlfriend!

Barb

Oh Susan. I told you I was worried about you. Gosh, be careful. Glad the Calgon came in handy!

Denine, how is Kaleigh doing today?

Lori, lunch it is in Feb. Tell Katie that she is more than welcome!! My side street is still snowpacked and Wadsworth now is down to pavement. But...getting onto Wads from here was a chore. The snowplows came down to get the slush off Wads and created mtns of slush for us to get over. What a pain! Oh well, I will be able to get out tomorrow for some me time. Mervyns is having a sale so I am looking for PJ's for my mom. Going to the University Mervyns because it seems to be bigger than mine. You would like the Alaskan cruise because it has cruise time and train time. Lodges and all kinds of good things. Heidi's Bryan has taken it twice. But it takes like 12 days or something.

Bonnie, I thought of you during Ambush Makeover today. Hope everything is going ok at work.

Julie, any news on Anna Marie?

Home from work...hit the prverbial wall around 3 but made it!!! Then ice skated all the way to the train and then home from the bus...not as bad here as in NC though! Only 1-3" of snow on the way.

497 emails awaited me at work...I am down to about 300. Of course I took work home...have to start on annual appraisals and raise recommendations. These nurse won't be happy...they were all way overrated each year!!!!

Best of luck for Dylan... OPEN THOSE PRESENTS! LOL! You are sooo good Patty! Good to hear from you though.

Freezing rain and sleet has been coming down for the last hour...just tried walking outside...forget it!! Should be fun in the morning!

Got a call from Pam...someone broke into the house. Took money and a tennis braclet from what she can tell. House inspector coming on Friday...already got the basement window replaced and working on the basement door. What a week so far!

Thank You Bonnie! I opened my Santa Box tonight and it was full of gifts......a darling little Liberty Bell, a deck of cards that shows where Bonnie works, some yummy chocolate, and guess what - Calgon for tax season! I'm looking forward to using that. Best of all was a really great picture frame with a picture of the whole cruise family.....well, almost the whole family......Barb, Mom, and me missed the boat somewhere and we're missing but I'll pretend we showed up :teeth:

I needed the pick me up tonight too. My husband is off to Colorado again....this time its his mother. She entered the hospital one month exactly from his sisters death and she is getting sicker but they can't find the problem. She was getting a cold when we left after his sisters funeral. She was getting worse everyday so Sissy, Ken's other sister, took her to the doctor. They said she had an inflammed colon (?) and admitted her. She hasn't kept anything at all down since she's been there and she's very weak. They've also discovered a blood clot in her arm. They are still running tests to determine what's wrong but the doctor said her entire system is shutting down. Ken thinks she has given up. We don't know if she was just hanging on until Sue passed or if she is so depressed about Sue that she doesn't want to fight this. We know she is really feeling the loss because they talked on the phone everyday at least once.

This year isn't starting off so well for us and I seem to keep unloading on you all. Hopefully, I'll have some good news about Dylan and my MIL tomorrow. I'm hanging in there
