Good Morning!!

Bonnie-Last time Bob was activated which was right after 9/11
he had to go to Germany for 3 months. Since they are a reserve unit they are lucky enough to rotate into where ever they have to go. This time it is a lot more dangerouse where he is going. He is not looking forward to it. We still don't have the details how long he will have to stay.:(

We started rehersals for The Thorn. It is a big production at our church. There are 10,000 active members at our church so it is a big one. The Thorn is so cool even has fireworks! I am one of the crowd. The set that is being built has a waterfall and 2 staircases. I will be on one for a while. Right now there are no railing and I am afraid of heights. There are about 400 actors it is a big big big event.

Jeanne-Glad Bobby is back. Have fun on your weekend.

Barb :smooth:

Thank you for all your ideas!!! I want more of them...my mom has an awesome idea and now I have to top hers LOL!!!!

My Washington DC trip is coming soon and I am starting to get a little nervous. Just found out I have to fly back on friday by myself because the lady that is going with me is staying there for the weekend. Not sure how to get to the airport...metro or cab. Not worried about money, just want to take the easier, safer, and less complex route!!!!

The hotel we have to stay in does not have a pool or a gym and people are warning me not to go out by myself because it can get a little rough when the Government workers go home leave after work. Any ideas on how to keep myself busy at night? I was planning on swimming and working out, but now thats not going to work. I guess I might end up reading.....alot!!!!

Sandy: I didn't know there were so many sayings for housewarming gifts. Have fun filling the basket.

Dinner was quite good last night, very filling!

Jeanne: The party sounds like fun! You are quite the party girl now, aren't you?

Bonnie: Now you know why I like just being a staff nurse. I don't have to worry about management stuff. I did have to do some evaluations for nursing assistants when I did some supervisor work at my last job.

Barb: Wow! That is a very large prodution!

Any one plan on seeing The Passion movie from Mel Gibson? I don't know if I want to or not.

Started working on taxes last night. It will be easier this year because I can help Jerry. I couldn't really help him last year with Kaleigh being so little and teething at the time.
Jerry also does both our parents taxes.

Dodger is back! My son left him off late last night & I forgot how peaceful it was without him being here. He was in & out since about 2:30 AM but now he is home from the park & is sleeping. I love him dearly but he can be work!:faint:

Bobby's son is getting ready to go to Iraq very soon & I can tell Bob is getting upset. He is in some special unit of the Marines & originally was going to Japan but about a month ago he got the word that his unit is going to Iraq.

It is cold today but the weekend is supposed to be beautiful.:sunny: I can't wait! Have a great day. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl:

Jeanne, you can't kid me. I KNOW that Dodger dog means a lot to you work or not. When I talk to you on the phone, Dodger talks too. Bob will probably go through a lot of emotions. Just be there for him. Bless his heart! Jeanne, all you do now is party, party, party. Wish I was having all your fun!

Denine, our taxes are DONE!!!!! :hyper: Yahoo!

Heidi, I hope there are people here on the thread that are experienced enough to help you decide your DC problems. As a overcaring mother, somewhat like Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance, I a worried and hope you will get some advice.

Barb, your production sounds absolutely terrific. Your church is definitely one of those mega churches! By chance is it a part of the Focus on the Family that is in the Springs? Pixie dust to your Bob as well. All these Bob's leaving.

Bonnie, I about fell off my chair. Twice you posted in one day. WOW! :teeth: Yes, I am happy! ::yes:: Bleach in Pam's basket. Way too funny! Good grief. You need a dual residency. ...Clementon and Chicago. :teeth: Glenn, your place must be looking pretty good!

Well, Lori and I tried getting on last night but we were unable. I see she wasn't able to post. Just wanted you to know that she is still around. I am getting my girl scout cookies from Katie today. That is if Lori hasn't eaten them FIRST! I am a little worried about that.

:chat: PLEASE, PLEASE, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TRANSPORTATION ADVICE FOR HEIDI FOR GETTING TO THE DC AIRPORT BY HERSELF? ANYONE EXPERIENCED?

Back from my liquid lunch with Lori. :teeth: My peach margaritas were oh so good! Lori is fine but very busy. She tried to get caught up on the thread last night but got kicked off like me. She said that she might try to finish reading tonight and post.

Went shopping all afternoon for Stacey's housewarming gift. Heidi came up with the idea of colored salt and sugar. She found colored margarita salt at a VERY large liquor store that we have here in town. Bought colored sugar sprinkles. Thought that we would buy some fancy containers at the container store tonight. I bought some adorable wooden Easter flowers for the basket also. It is coming together nicely. Hopefully will be done tonight.

Heidi...here is a link to Super Shuttle in the DC area $22 one way $10 for additional people. We used them in San Fran... http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/dca.htm You may also want to check with your hotel. Some hotels have their own Courtesy shuttle...I believe Sheraton does. I also saw some Limo/towncar services for about $62 dollars. Just do a search for Airport Trans Washington DC.

Jeanne- Cosmos????? Can I come along???? Love Cosmos!!!

Barb-you didn't say where Bob would be going...guess you aren't allowed to. I can only imagine though! Sounds like a big production. In PA they have a theater that used to do something like Noah or some Christmas story with live camels and all sorts of animals. It is supposed to be terrific.

Sandy-GLenn's place is looking really good...just wait until he lets me get the paint roller going!!! And those beautiful hardwood floors showing! etc...etc...etc... You listening Glenn! Tee Hee!

OK all! Sadie Hawkins Day on Sunday!!!! Look out!!!!

Hi Heidi,

How about a subscription to a nice home magazine. Veranda, Southern Living, Country Living, Mary Englebreit's Home Companion, Home and Garden, etc.

Hi to all, gotta scrub Clare's hair in the tub now.

Go Matthew (Bachelorette) Wahooooooo

Krista

Good morning everyone. Our 60s from last weekend are definitely gone and old man winter is coming back strong today. We have snow on the way for today, tonight and tomorrow. One station says 3"-6" and another say up to 8" of snow expected. They were calling for it to begin with the morning commute but I just took Stanley out and so far nothing.

The president and vice president are also going to be in town late this afternoon and evening for a fundraiser 2 blocks from where I work. They are expecting lost of roads to be closed to handle the security. Coupled with the weather, the ride home today ought to be an event!!

I'm glad to see Bonnie cold help Heidi with the DC information. We've always had a car with us when we were in DC so I didn't have a clue to offer. I'm also not creative so I don't iknow how to top Sandy's housewarming gift. How about adding more things to Sandy's gift...including your name - LOL!!

Gotta start getting ready for work. Have a great day everyone!
Love ya,
Later!

Susan- I decided to take your advice for Stacey's gift......add my name!!!!

Bonnie- thank you so much for your help regarding transportation while I am in Washington DC. I am just so nervous and intimidated about taking the Metro. We don't have anything like that in Colorado. Unless you count the Light Rail that has like 15 stops!!!!

Thank you all for your ideas about what to get Stacey. Susan won out and I added my name. It got kind of expensive with what we added, so we are splitting it 50/50.

Mom- remind me to never try and be creative again. Everytime I get creative, we always manage to go on a goose hunt. I will let you explain to everybody how our night went.

YEA its almost Friday!!!!

Hi guys, it was wonderful to read from so many people.

It certainly was a night last night. $50.00 later we are done. Heidi's great idea for colored salt and sugar took me all over town durning the day. Then at night we went to the container store and bought 2 adorable glass jars for them and a unique basket for all the goodies. We only had one thing left to buy and that was a simple candle. ONE THING left to buy and it took us 1 1/2 hours to decide on a simple candle at Yankee Candle. We checked out 2 other stores but went back to Yankee. Decorate it, leave it plain??? What scent" Too many questions for Heidi and I to make up our mind. So we both just settled on their jar candles.
I think it will turn out nice.

Bonnie, if you were here I would give you a great big hug for helping Heidi on DC. Thanks! :love2: Glenn is really lucky to have those hardwood floors.

Susan, careful on your drive home. Sounds like it will be a real challenge, twofold. I tell you, that President can sure mess up things just by being in town! We are to get CA's stormy weather on Saturday into Sunday. They said it could be a whopper. What is bad about that is Stacey is moving on SATURDAY! With saltwater fish at that. Poor guys! Plus Ted will help as long as he can and then he will be called out to snowplow the streets for 12 hours. Poor guy will be so exhausted. But he is so happy that he volunteered for it. Extra money plus big boy toys!

Krista,
gotta scrub Clare's hair in the tub now
So is Clare in the tub, too???

Sandy: Sounds like the housewarming basket has really taken shape. I have never been to a housewarming.

Heidi: The Metro in DC is so easy and clean. We used it several times when we were there a few years ago. We drove though, we didn't fly. We also didn't go anywhere in the evening. We were too tired from walking all over DC! :faint:

Sue: Be careful!

We are actually supposed to have fairly decent weather for the weekend. It is supposed to get into the 50's.

Nothing else going on here.

Good Morning!!

Tonight is rehersal for The Thorn. I am excited.

Last night Bob and I tried to get into The Passion. The tickets were all sold out so we ended up having dinner at a coffee shop right next to the theater. When we were getting ready to leave they started Karoke. I talked Bob into staying. It was really fun. People are crazy!! I was cracking up. One girl came in with a tight tight tight tube dress that barely covered her hind end, these high heels and a long dark wig. She actually was a pretty good singer. She had 2 back up dancers with her that were so funny. I was laughing so hard. Bob kept looking at me like I was crazy!. There was another young guy that was screaming while he was singing?? about death and strange stuff. I thought I was going to fall off the seat laughing. What a fun night! NO I DID NOT SING!! Besides I think my calling is acting...:p

Barb:smooth:

I'm home and safe!! We have about 4-5 inches on the ground already and Turner's school was cancelled at 11:30. I left work at 11:00 and we got home around 2:00!!!!! What a nightmare!! Looks like we may get up to 10 inches before it ends tomorrow. The president has even cancelled his trip to the city (to be rescheduled at a leter date). I'm pretty certain there will be no school tomorrow!! I think I'll take a mid afternoon nap! Later!

Only one filling needing work after three years away from the Dentist. I have no idea why I haven't been there for three years. Time just slips away....

Bobby has been very busy (which I guess is a good thing) but he is supposed to stop over tonight and watch the FLYERS together. Tomorrow we are going to the classic car show in Atlantic City & then to the party with Cosmos (Ha! Ha! Bonnie) & Martinis. Bob has a 1952 Buick he is restoring. We may head to Virginia for the weekend!

 :love2:

This is supposed to be a beautiful weekend:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: Have a great weekend everyone. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Off early AGAIN, Susan? My gosh, how many times this year have you gone home early due to ice and snow?? At least it all worked out safely! Are you getting more snow than usual? I never knew the Carolina's got so much. This thread is fun because I am learning geography and so much more.

Jeanne, SHAME on you! You should never go 3 years without cleaning! At least you got in this time. I am proud of you for that. Can you tell I babysit for my dental hygenist?

Survivor night, Apprentice night, Friends night. I turn into a TV junkie on Thursdays. Hopefully, Boston Rob is gone tonight on Survivor and on the Apprentice I would like to see Ohmarisa (sp) fired.

Bonnie, Heidi has a layover in Chicago. It is on the first leg so at least her friend will be with her. Coming home by herself she has a layover somewhere in Texas. Hopefully the weather is good for her in Chicago! I hear horror stories about delayed and cancelled fllights out of there.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Miss you guys!

Heidi...check out the O'Hare website (if that is where your layover is) Look at the terminal layout and find out which gate you will have to get to for the next plane...unless you are lucky enough to stay on the same plane at the same gate. The airport terminal is HUGE!!!! Glenn can tellyou haow he was running behind me when we got back from SF trying to get from one gate to another!!! I think he lost 5# just doing that!!!
One terminal you actually end up walking under the road that the planes are taxi-*** on!

Regarding the Metro...it is VERY easy, clean quick. I took it from Union Station to VA in 2002...very easy. You can also check out their website to see if they have info.

What day do you layover in Chicago? I will be flying in there on 3/4...evening though. Flying out on 3/8. I think I will miss you...wrong dates.

Wow!! Snow in NC and we are supposed to get into the low 60's this weekend!

TGIF tomorrow!!! I need it!

Very unusual for North Carolina (except the mountains). We have over a foot and it is still coming down hard!! I guess I know where I will be tomorrow - HOME! We usually get one or two snowfalls a year but only 1-3 inches usually. Every few years we get a really good one. I don't remember one like this since about the late 80s. I know this is nothing for most of you, but we just aren't used to it here in the south!

Hatch got voted out!! I'm OK with that. I've had enough of him. I'm glad they disbanded one of the tribes. Two is enough.

Heading back to the TV.

Later!

And it keeps coming down!! Looks like about 15 inches out there now and more coming down. We've even had thunder and lightening in this snowstorm! Latest forecast says up to 16 inches before it ends (bet it will be a little more than that!).

WHEN WILL IT STOP???

It has finally stopped!

Now for today's dilemma:
When the snow is deeper than your dog's legs are tall, how do you get him to do his business. #1 was no problem but #2 hasn't happened yet. I know he'll eventually go when he can't hold it anymore, I just don't want that to be inside!! Remember, we never get snow this deep!
