I just ordered my trees from the Arbor Day Foundation. I ordered 3 weeping willows and 1 star magnolia. I get 1 red maple and 2 forsythia for free. I spent $35 with shipping. They are 3-4' trees.

We had a nice day today.....it was in the 40's and believe it or not in Colorado when the sun is shinning and no wind it was nice enough I could have worked in the yard with a sweatshirt on.

Well we did it. ....the man from the air conditioning/furnace company came and we are getting an air conditioner and they are installing it tomorrow. :cool1: We also had the filter system put on....I really insisted on that because of Dick's lung disease. He said it would take 95 percent of the dust and pollen out of the air...it was only $500 more and I had been thinking about getting two of the portable kind for upstairs and down and this cost less and is better. He didn't try to sell it to me, I ask about it so I am excited about it. :Pinkbounc ..even more than the air although when we have those awful hot days I will be thankful for that.

It is l0:30 so guess I will go to bed and see if I can sleep through the night...

Hope they can help you tomorrow Denine....

Yuck, that cake was made with Baby Food? Now I am really glad that I hate carrot cake.

Barb - that is so sweet of you for the invitation. I would love to go but unfortunately can't because that is my birthday. What my mom doesn't know is that my best friend rented out her clubhouse to have a Memorial Day/Birthday celebration BBQ/pool party that day. She loves to throw parties and she thought that would be perfect to get all of our friends and family together to celebrate everything, especially the beginning of Summer (and my birthday)!!! I'm sorry.

Mom - now you know your plans are for my birthday!!! (sorry I forgot to tell you, it slipped my mind because it is still a few months away)!!!

Hi guys! Sorry to be MIA again! It has been NUTS around here. Last week Garry was called 3 times (in the evening after he has been home for awhile) about several things. One a lady drove her car into an apartment complex's pond, the other a woman locked herself in her apartment with a knife to her throat and said she would kill herself if anyone entered, another was a lady mixed cleaning fluids and caused gases in her house and was taken to the hospital but she wanted her dog out of the house(long story). THEN we had Makenzie had a birthday party to go to on Sat. and one of her friends came over before the party because her mother and dad had something to go to so I took both girls to the party. Got AnnaMarie on Friday, took her home on Sunday, Makenzie after school on monday was complaining about not feeling good so I took her to the doctor's and she had strep AGAIN!! So she stayed home tues. Big Garry went into work all this week at a different time each day so we were getting up at 4:30am on mon, 5:30am on Tues, 6:30am on wed., and then 5:30 am on thurs. Each day he came home at a different time as well (all do to certain things going on at the station). Wednesday both kids went to school and I went to go get my oil changed and I was told they couldn't do it because they thought my gas tank was leaking! SOOO, I took my car in to see exactly what the problem was. Fortunately, it wasnt' the tank leaking, the rear differentual was leaking and they sealed it and put on a new cover. So I had one of my friends pick me up with both kids so we didn't have to stay while they were fixing it. THEN, Makenzie had Logos on Wed night (it is Methodist's version of PSR). Last night I had a PTA meeting and was told that next year I will 1st vice president for the PTA, NICE! AND tonight we have Brownies! I think that rounds out the highlights of me week.

Sorry to bore you all. I will be back on later. I HAVE to get back to work on our bathroom! STILL NOT DONE!!

CALGON take me away!!!

TTFN

BARB: I just wanted to tell you my heating & air conditioner is over 30 years old and every year when it has it's check-up I just pray  but the filter system is probably a good investment.

I have been working sooo much that it feels like I never have a day off. If I DO get a day off it is doing all the chores that have accumulated! :furious:

The dogs being tied out back has finally gotten to me! After Jake broke the chain when the next door neighbors dog went out, I decided I had to price a fence. We have to have a wood fence in my development. The price for the fence is $1800.00 for a six foot cedar fence with two gates. I thought it was going to be about $5000.00 I only hope the quote is correct after they check the back.

I don't want to brag but it is 70 degrees today :sunny: and it is supposed to be beautiful all weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend. I think Joyce and I are getting together for dinner tonight at Los Amigos. Miss you all. :grouphug: Toodles :wave2: JEANNE

They are still working on the air conditioning....it is getting cold in here...it is 42 outside which I think is warmer than in here...hope they are done soon.

First, I forgeot to wish Sandy and Ted a happy anniversary, so Happy anniversary! :Pinkbounc

Julie: GLad you found a minute to post. Man, it has been a crazy week for you! Cars can be such a pain!

Heidi: The pool party sounds fun!

Sally: Glad you are getting the air put in. We don't use ours much but some people turn it on in the Spring and off in the Fall. I want my windows open!

Jeanne: I hope the estimate is right. That is a good price!

I saw the orthopedist today. I finally feel like I have gotten some answers. He was very nice and thorough and took the time to sit down and answer questions. He thought at first based on my sypmtoms that I had a herniated disc, classic sypmtoms, until he looked at my MRI. It showed no herniations, no stenosis, no nothing. He feels that something, maybe stress or a vrus in my nerve, has greatly irritated the sciatic nerve and maybe the sacroiliac joint (SI). He put me on Prednisone and a medication for nerve pain called Lyrica. He says that if it is just the nerve with no SI involvement, the pain should be relieved in a few days. If there is SI involvement, then I may need PT and a different medication. THe grinding movement is a coincidence. He seems to think it may be some arthritis setting in. He wants me to be on the Lyrica for 3 months. He also put the cabash on Curves for now. I guess I will be happy if I can just get back to the treadmill.
I am excited at the thought of being normal again!

No plans for this weekend, but Jerry said he needs to do some work.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SANDY & TED. :yay: :yay:

It was another beautiful day in N.J. :sunny: In the 70's again! Went out to dinner with Joyce Friday night & we had the usual - Margaritas & crabcakes via Los Amigos.

Any one have plans for St. Patrick's Day? We are thinking about going to "The Irish Pub" in Atlantic City. It could be really fun! :thumbsup2 I need to start a St. Patrick's Day tradition. Every year we do something but it is usually something different every year.

Nothing exciting on my home front (which isn't a bad thing). Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Miss and love you all :grouphug: Toodles :wave2: JEANNE

Good Morning!

Lots of activities on the board since I last posted. It is Sunday morning and I am getting ready to work on wedding favors. I think it would be so fun if we could all get together and work on them! Any takers?? I am having a tuff time keeping it all straight in my head because I have so many projects between wedding, gradution, Mother/daughter tea party, cooking night for the Missionettes. I have three list going: Things to make, Things to buy or order, Things to do. Each list has all the events on them. I look at the lists and feel overwhelmed so I set it aside. Baby steps Barb.....

Friday night we had the Missionettes over for their "Spa Night" We had pizza right after they arrived then started the "Spa" The first station was my room. The entire room was lite by candles. I had "Spa" music playing and my water fall. I took 2 girls at a time. I had them lay on my bed heads at the end so I could have access to their faces. first I explained to them what a facial was and told them all the steps. I put on a mask, head massage, washed off the mask with warm wash cloth, hand massage, then I had them close their eyes and smell lavender oil, I put some on their faces, more head and face massages, then moisturizer on their faces. Some of the girls talked the entire time some just layed quiet. It was fun to see their reactions. They LOVED it. Next station was finger and toe nails done by Tiffany. Last was hair and makeup done by Jaymee.

One of the Moms made bows for their hair. They were so cute. I had a few that wanted to live with me forever. After all was done they settled down with a movie about 11:30 and fell asleep.

Ethan was a big hit too. The girls loved holding and playing with him. He got so much attention. He has no fear of strangers and never objected to anyone holding him. Most of the parents were right on time to pick up the girls which I really apprecitated. Only one Dad was about 30 minutes late. One of the girls parents are both from Scotland. Tiffany and I purposely ask them a lot of questions just so we can hear them talk :teeth:
Another of our girls mother was Aerial in Disney on Ice for 5 years.

Jeanne: I always make corned beef and potatoes for St. Patrick's Day. That is our only tradition, but we look forward to it. Glad you are having such nice weather. We have been warmer, but rainy. Supposed to snow come Tuesday.

Where is everyone? I guess busy for the weekend.

We took off down to Amish yesterday. It wasn't planned, but we needed to get away and have a normal day for Kaleigh. She has been fighting going to sleep these past few nights. You put her down and the next thing you know, she is crying her eyes out over nothing. She does this at least 3 times a night and doesn't get to sleep until midnight when her body finally wins out. I finally figured out Friday night, that she is afraid that if she goes to sleep, I won't be there when she wakes up. She is afraid of something happening to me. Losing grandpa is still very fresh in her memory and she remembers that he was in a lot of pain and now he is gone. She told Jerry that grandpa died but he doesn't hurt anymore. I feel awful. She shouldn't have to have these kind of worries at her age. I keep reassuring her that I will be fine and that the doctor gave me medicine to help my back. She did get to sleep better last night. We will see what tonight brings.

I am really hoping to feel better soon. I want to get the office painted in a couple of weeks. We have had the paint for some time now.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Saturday My Mom and I went back to work on our Disney pages at the class we started last week. I broke my cutter so Lori was nice enough to give me "Super Glue" to mend it. She also warned me not to glue my fingers together because she didn't have any acidtone.

Every thing was going fine until I went to put the lid back on it. The glue burst out the top and it was all over my fingers. Since she already put the kabash on me getting any on my fingers I looked around, "Great no one noticed, not even my Mom who was sitting beside me!!" I just kind of strolled out of the room like nothing was any different in my world well except for the fact that my fingers were spread apart as far as I could spread them because in the back of my mind I kept hearing Lori's warning, "blah blah blah no acidtone". Determined that I would not spend the rest of my life with this new shine on my hands. I got to the really expensive bathroom turned on the really expensive water faucet and ran warm water on my hands. By now the super glue had decided to become a permanent part of my life and we were never to be separated again. I peeled and peeled but nothin! Ouch ouch dang, #$%^$#@ Super Glue! Since there was no justice for me I left and decided that I would act as if everything was "Super Ok" with me. Lalalalalalalaa "Hey great pages", "Nice cutting there", "How about them Broncos!" Sat down and no one barely even noticed I had left the room! I was congratulating myself on pulling it off.

Later that night I told my Mom about what I had pulled off knowing she would congratulate me too. But she was hardly even impressed. Up until then I was totally seeing a "James Bond" job in my future until my own Mother was not even impressed :confused3 Well needless to say I will be back at my job tomorrow.

Poor Barb! How funny!
So did you get it off or are you going to let it wear off?

OMG, Barb that was hilarious. Great story, thanks for sharing. I am hoping the Tag Fairy will find that one.

Denine - glad your pain may be coming to an end. I like it when the doctors actually take the time to answer your questions and really help you out.

My mom is MIA. She has the flu and has been very sick since yesterday. Unfortunately for her, they were bouncing between my grandpa's house and Lou's house and she woke up sick at my grandpa's house. From what my dad told me, they were trying to get up the road that has a bigger hill and my dad's car couldn't get tranction to get up the road due to all the snow. Thankfully some neighbors helped push them up the hill. I couldn't imagine being sick and having to deal with sliding down the road. Feel better mom.

This weekend, we ended up going skating. Much different then when I use to hang out there and go skating. We went to Fat City (aka as Fun Plex when I was skating there). We had a lot of fun, it had been over 10 years since the last time I went skating, but the girls did great. They did end up getting bruised knees from falling, but they did not want to give up. There was a guy there that was a really good skater and he was showing off and doing tricks on the roller skates, so that's when the girls really started falling!!!! They were either watching him and losing their balance or they would try and do tricks like him!!! After roller skating we went to play in the arcade. Fat City has skating, bowling, laser tag, arcade, bumper cars, put put golf, and a spinning ride...it's a pretty big place.

Now I need help. While I was still sleeping in the early morning, my wonderful boyfriend (after telling him a month before to NEVER do it again due to the table incident) let his girls color on a balloon with a sharpie marker while on the COUCH. And you guessed it, one of the girls accidentally dropped the marker on the couch and I have a nice red mark on my new couch. On top of that they were playing with the balloon and it rubbed off on their fingers and they WIPED their fingers on the couch. So now on one side we have a red dot, an the other side of the couch we have blue and pink blotches and finger prints. I could just kill him, we haven't even had the couch for a year. The furniture store only suggests water and Dove soap and to not soak the stain and the blot the spots. Well that doesn't work, (DUH, because it is PERMANENT for a reason) They said they cannot suggest anything else because if anything happens then they would be liable. I am so irritate and angry. Chris should have had better sense and the girls are almost 9 years old and should no better than to WIPE their DIRTY fingers and hands on the couch. Ugh, oh ya, by the way my couch is Tan and the material is Microfiber.

Good Morning,

Here I am at work. Super glue is mostly gone just some on my finger nails. I have been peeling and soaking so I guess you could consider me "Super Glue Free"

It was snowing lightly last night so Tiffany and I took the van with NO HEAT up to the church. The church is about 20 miles from my house. Because there is no heat there is no defroster. Was not to bad on the way up but the way home was miserable. I was so cold I felt stiff. The windows were all frosted on the inside. We stopped and got hot chocolate on the way home I held my cup to help thaw out my fingers.

We have a covenance in our neighorhood you can not park cars on the street overnight, so here is how my drive way looks everynight. Jaymee's Mustang and my Mustang get the garage. Missy's car is parked behind Jaymee's car then we park the van behind Jaymee's car. The car Tiffany usually drives is parked out on base while Bob is deployed to help with the car conjestion. I refuse to let anyone park behind me because I do not want to be moving cars in the morning. I leave first...no problem life is good. Tiffany leaves second so all Jaymee has to do is move Missy's car. Well today Tiffany calls me and guess what I have the keys to the van and we have no idea where the spare is. So not only can Tiffany not go to school but Jaymee can't go to work. Not sure how I am going to handle this one. I hung this morning telling Tiffany to look real hard for the extra key so I don't have to use my vacation time to drive all the way home 24 miles and drive back. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Sandy: I hope you feel better soon.

Heidi: I would KILL Chris! I have no idea how to get that stuff off. I am NOT the queen of stain removal. Jerry and I used to go roller skaiting when we first started dating. We haven't been since.

Barb: Glad you are super glue free! :rotfl: I had a car like that once, we called "wind, no wind" because that was the only difference between being in the car and out of it. Hope you figure out the key situation!

I actually feel some better today and I didn't take a vicodin! I hope this keeps up. Kaleigh and I went back to Strongsville to drop off my x-rays and go to the resale store. I got some cute things, but I was really looking for some summer dresses. I got a Tommy Hilfiger dress for $6, it is a 3T, but it seemed to be long enough. I also got her a formal for our next cruise, and some other stuff.

Supposed to be 70 today and 39 with snow tomorrow. It has been raining and storming on and off. It is supposed to get really windy later. It is only 59-61 right now. It keeps varying.

Kaleigh actually went to sleep good last night. I was feeling pretty decent so I was running around playing with her. That made her very happy.

Yesterday, Jerry cleaned up the office, it looks sooo much better. It needed to be done if we are going to paint in here. We hung up a couple of pictures in the basement that have been sitting in here waiting.

Nothing else really going on.

CPR re-certified this morning. I am so glad I am NOT working because it is another 70 degree day outside :sunny:

BARB: It sounds like the cars have to maneuver for positions. We only have two parking places out front (live on a cul-de-sac) and at one time we had five cars! We are now down to three cars.

SANDY: I don't like to hear :listen: that you are sick :sad2: Get well soon!

HEIDI: My last born Derek dropped copier ink on my rug (I could have killed him) but I used the Oxyclean. I mixed it with water & kept going over the spot and it finally disappeared. Obviously you will have to very gingerly test the area.

70 today & then the cold is coming East. Hope you all have a great week. Miss & love you all :grouphug: Toodles  JEANNE

Hi guys, sickie here. Doing better but just not up to par. Hopefully I will be 100% by tomorrow as Graci doesn't have preschool plus I will have her later than usual tomorrow. She will leave between 6:45 and 7:00pm.

Not too much new here because of being sick but wanted to check in. Thanks for the input for Heidi's couch. I really feel for her!

Will check in more tomorrow.

Hugs.

Good morning. So far nothing has worked on my couch. We have tried a mild soap (like the furniture store suggested), oxy clean, and Woolite Upholstery stain remover/cleaner product. Another DISer suggested a product called Lift Off 3 which is supose to take out permanant marker, nail polish and grafiti from furniture, fabrics, etc. She had the same experience as me this weekend, only it was with her 19 year old cousin and the product worked for her. Sharpie website also recommended Amodex and another DISer told me that instead of ordering it on the website, you can also get it at Home Depot. So after work I will be getting (or should I say Chris) will be getting those products. My last resort will be Spot shot that I will borrow from a DISer that lives close to me and rubbing alcohol.

VENT:
I am so irritated at Chris. I wasn't really showing him that I was upset but last night he found out. He tried the mild soap before he went to school....well it didn't work. So he gets home from school, eats dinner that I made and stays on the couch for the night. I kept hinting and asking him if he tried EVERYTHING on the couch and if anything worked and he said he tried the soap and it didn't work. I said so should we try the Woolite and he said I guess so and just sat there. So I said do you want me to do it and he gets up and gets all mad and said he would do it. Well that didn't work and so I said well then lets try Oxy Clean and he got mad again because I wanted him to try something else to get the stain out......I am sorry but am I in the wrong for wanting a marker stain out of my new couch??? Oxy Clean didn't work and he screams at me "what's your next brilliant idea?" I didn't have any ideas left that I could do that night so I said none and walked up and went to bed. Ugh. So now I guess it is my fault for making him follow through like he said he would on Saturday when it all happened and get rid of the stain. He hasn't hardly put out an effort and it was HIS mistake. Vent over.

Heidi: I am sorry nothing has worked on your couch. :grouphug: Maybe some of the other ideas may work. I would be pissed too if Jerry just sat there not doing anything to try to get the stain out if it was fault.

Sandy: Glad to see you post even though you are stilla sickie.

Jeanne: You have had nicer days than we have but we did get up to about 68 yesterday when the sun came out for a while. It is currently 34 and snowing and windy. Garbage is blowing all over. I hate windy garbage days.

I do have crocus coming up in my lawn. There are more this year. Of course, they aren't going to open in this weather.

Going to the mall tonight. Need to buy a birthday gift for our neice. He party is on Sunday. I didn't like the clothes they had at Target. ALso need to stop at the Hallmark store for cards, forgot to buy my brother a birthday card and his birthday is on Thursday.

Jerry sent in the payment to pay off the last loan yesterday! As soon as it posts, we will be debt free except for the mortgage. It is a good feeling! The last loan was from his 401K, so we were paying it back to ourselves.
