SANDY: You must be pooped! When my Great Aunt passed away several years ago we went through the same thing - tons of costume jewelry but you have to be very careful because she had her engagement ring mixed in with the costume jewelry.

Busy day too. Started off doing wash (last load is now in dryer), went to Shoprite for groceries, post office (bought the cutest 39 cent stamps - characters from childrens books), exercise, return skiis with visit, cooking dinner for my mother's 80th (that's right I said 80th) birthday today.

Can't wait to go back to work tomorrow FOR SOME REST!

I noticed you posted this AFTER I called you and told you I am getting sucked in to watching it again. I have to watch it tonight because it is in Denver!!! What was with that girl that was trying to down the up escalator, I was laughing hysterically at her.

Last night I went to dinner with an old coworker, she is in the process of getting a divorce so she needs some distraction. It was great to see her. We went to Bennigans and I was so excited to get a Monte Cristo because I use to LOVE those (notice I said "use to.") Those things were too greasy for me that I could only eat barely 2 halves. I think next time I will stick with the Monte Cristo Panini because that is not fried.

I watched American Idol last night. Hope there is a lot of talent they didn't show, didn't seem that there was too much that they did show.

We went to see Jerry's dad last night. He didn't look good, he looked gray. Now, instead of the MS Contin, they put him on a pain patch. He slept most of the time we were there. I did have some yummy potato soup though. Jerry's mom spent the night before with his dad. I guess he was very disoriented, so she stayed. That is another problem, he doesn't seem to know where he is.

I work the next 2 days. Need to go to the mall tonight to get my glasses adjusted. Probably won't go back to see Jerry's dad until Friday.

Jeanne: Happy birthday to your mom.

Julie: Jerry's mom wants a box of thin mints.

Denine, I always thought that when Ted's dad and Louise slept that it meant they were in no pain and always looked so peaceful. I remember both of them being very disoriented. That is what got us through. We kept our humor through it and laughed about the silly things they said after we left them.

Okay I know that some people are going through some hard times now and I don't want to be rude or inconsiderate but before these things happened we have asked/reminded/nagged about Secret Santa.

A lot of participants have not sent out their gifts because they have been too busy, but my mom and I managed to send out our secret santa gifts through 3 deaths on time, and I believe that we were extremely busy as well. I do not feel that it is very fair that those who have sent out their gifts have spent that money and not received anything in return. This experience was suppose to be a fun Dis family tradition. I have yet to even hear a response if my secret santa even got her gift that I sent out over a month ago.

Barb/Sally - Patty was my secret santa, will you please find out if she even received the gift I gave to her? That would be much appreciated, Thanks.

Denine, glad to hear that Jerry's dad is where he is at. Hopefully all of you can get some rest knowing he is in good hands.

NOW... I have to apologize for this years Secret Santa exchange. I have let you all down. I thought that this year would be great, but after names were picked, people disappeared! I know there was a lot going on in Dec for lots of people and it is my fault for not choosing a date and sticking with it. I really let those of you down who got their gifts out on time. I know that my gift was sent late so I'm guilty of that too. I know that Denine has hers and she sent hers to one person that is a MIA. I know that Heidi sent hers to Patty but I do not know if she got it and if Patty sent hers. I know Barb had her gift to be sent out, but I don't know if her "family" got her gift yet. Barb, I don't think that you got your gift. Your family that had you is one that has been MIA from the boards. I really think that I should have just said that ONLY those people who post regularly can participate. We have not recieved our gift yet, but there are certain circumstances as to why they haven't sent it out, and I'm ok with that. SO, I apologize once again and I feel horrible that I let you aall down.

Did anyone watch American Idol last night? They made Denver look horrible and like we had the craziest people around. That guy that said he traveled far and when they asked where he lived he said Denver, CO....what an idiot!!!!

I agree Heidi. American Idol certainly didn't make Denver look good. They only took the bad but didn't really show anyone that made it. Oh and did anyone watch the Ice Skating one? I enjoyed that one very much. However, I didn't think it was fair that one guy played hockey and one of the ladies had skated since she was little. I didn't make it an equal playing field.

By the way, I heard from my Secret Santa with a very nice apology. Thanks.

Good Morning Everyone

I have already put in to leave early today. Just not feeling up to par. Thought I was coming down with the flu last night which made me really upset since I got a flu shot! I totally expect to be free and clear of ANY flu that comes along for the rest of my life since I gave in and had my first flu shot! I ended up just feeling bad all night but never had any other symptoms of the flu.

Julie, Don't feel like you let anyone down. You were nice just to take on the job. Guess I know not to expect anything for the Secret Santa but I will get mine out.

I have been working on Ethan's Christmas stocking. I am going to have it done by next year! I cut out pieces for a train, Pooh, Jack in the box, & Santa. I still am looking for patterns for "cute" things to put on it. I am putting sequins on them, so far only been working on the train and it looks pretty cute.
