Never a dull moment around here. We had just finished wrapping the rest of the presents and put all the stuff away. We sat down on the couch with some pretzels and a 7 & 7 each when we both heard a very strange noise. We didn't know what it was. Then we heard it again and Jerry said that was a cough. I thought it was no ordinary cough. I was on my way upstairs when I hear the crying. Kaleigh was sitting up in bed with this horrible croupy cough. She was crying and gagging and threw up. She could hardly talk or take a breath. I changed her jammies and off we went to the emergency room. I had no idea what to do for croup except steam, but she was having a hard time breathing. Of course, being sick , she only wanted mommy, so I had to hold her and carry her. My back hurts! They gave her a cold mist treatment and a shot of decadron (steroids) and did a chest x-ray. They said it would take about an hour for the decadron to kick in. It did and she could talk again and breathe better. Of course, before she got the treatments, she was crying and upset about the wrist bands they put on her, so, she started coughing again and threw up all over herself and some on me. Then, she didn't want the gown so we wrapped her in a blanket while Jerry went home for more jammies. Luckily, we only live about 10 minutes from the place. We left about 11 PM. They said she should be OK today, but it could happen again tonight. I am prepared, but don't want it to happen again. She still has a cough, not as bad and gets hoarse once in a while. She was hoarse yesterday evening, but denied any problems. Now we know why. She has been clingy and demanding all day. Not sick enough to just be held like last night, just enough to be a pain.
I tried to give blood last night, but was given a 1 year deferral instead. It seems our little side trip to Manzanillo was considered high risk for malaria. I tried.
My new bed frame and mattress set came today. I need steps to get onto my bed now!

It is weird having a bed in the front bedroom now, but it will be nice to be able to have guests once in a while.
I am now in charge of making cheesy potatoes for Christmas at Jerry's parents house. It doesn't matter that I don't have a recipe. I will find one though.
Kohl's is having a 50% off sale on mattress pads, need to go see what the prices are. BJ's didn't have any when we went yesterday.
Barb: I love those early pictures with Kaleigh at WDW. I have one of her at 3 months being held by Pooh hanging on my refrigerator. I am sure Ethan will enjoy it.
Sandy: I just bought my appetizers for NYE at BJ's, but then I work that morning and I am trying to make it easier on myself. I am still making ribs in the crockpot and Emeril's stovetop baked beans. I am buying coleslaw cabbage and dressing. New Years Day is a pork roast with sauerkraut in the crockpot and spaetzle, which I will buy to make my life easier. If we go to Garry's thing, I will put off my NYD dinner. I love sauerkraut balls, but that is more of a NYE thing. How about bacon wrapped scallops?
Jerry and I didn't get to bed until 1 AM and he had to be up at 4:30 for work. I checked on Kaleigh at that time.
Sandy: I do have those therma care heat things. They feel nice, but only help sometimes.
