Got the wrapping done and I am so tired. Been watching Sound of Music while wrapping. That is Heidi and my show. Didn't dare to tell her it was on because they have the girls and I know she wouldn't have control of the TV. Sorry Heidi.

Guess everyone is busy. Will try and check in tomorrow. We weren't able to go to Ted's dads house so will have to go tomorrow and then to our friends house to do a few things that we didn't accomplish today. We are planning on having an estate sale at her house this coming May. I think that will be a chore and a half but at least we have plenty of time to prepare. We already have a potential buyer and it isn't even on the market yet. According to CO law we can't sell it for four months.

Stay warm everyone. We are trying real hard here in CO.

Hi all! Today was the first time that I got a chance to look at the boards. Friday was CRAZY!!!! Since Garry started working days, I have been getting up at 4:30am with him to make breakfast and to spend some time with him, "adult talk". I finally got to take a "real" shower on Friday morning. Boy was that a great feeling. My foot is coming along and now that I can change my own bandage, it helps greatly. Anyways, after Garry went to work Friday morning, I finished making my reindeer brownies for Makenzie's class party and my roll lo's preztel candies for the Big Guy's program. Then I took a shower, got myself ready and then got the kids up. Took Makenzie to school, then the Big Guy. Stopped back home to pick up the preztel candies for the Big Guy's program and then went and picked up my dad so he could see the program. Garry did get to stop in (in uniform) to see the second half of his program. The Big Guy did erally well with sining! Brooke was really cute during the program. She would take a step towards her brother and stop. Then she would take another step and stop. Until she finally got close enough to her brother to run and give him a hug. Everyone in the audience went awwwww! How cute! I of course was trying to tape the program so trying to chase Brooke and record at the same time was a real treat. Santa arrived at the end of the program and all the kids got in line to sit and tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Once Santa sat down, Brooke walked over to where he was sitting and sstood right infront of and just started to wave. She didn't care that he had a child on his lap, she just wanted to wave at him! When the Big Guy got his chance to sit on his lap, he just loved it! Brooke of course was standing there and decided to sit on Santa's other knee so the both of them sat on Santa's lap together. THen to two went over to the "kid" table and sat down together and had a cookie and juice. Brooke was cracking me up because once Garry was done with his juice, she took his cup and poured what was left in it into her cup and drank it. The little girl next to her didn't drink her juice and when she was done, Brooke took her juice and poure it into her cup. THEN she noticed that no one was sitting in the sit across from her and the cookie and juice was just sitting there, so she got up, walked around the table, picked up the cookie and cup of juice and when back over to her chair and poured the juice into her cup and ate the cookie. It reminded me of the scene in CaddyShack when the boy was walking around the dining room drinking everyone's drink off thier table.

Well, after that I ran to McDonald's to get them something to eat, dropped my dad off so he could rest for awhile and took the kids home to eat. THen a half hour later, I had to load up the car with the stuff for Makenzie's party, and take the kids back over to my dad's and go to Makeinzie's school to be room mom for her party. OF COURSE the other roomparent had sick children so she couldn't make it! But I did ok with the party I guess. After school, I took two of Makenzie's friends to their houses (we try to car pool as much as possible and it is my turn on Fridays) and then back to my dad's to get the other two. Got home and Garry got home from work, TRIED to talk for a few minutes before I had to leave and go meet Anna Marie and her mom since Anna Marie was coming over for the weekend. Got her, came home, got Garry and went over to my mom's house AGAIN to see my grandmother who is up for the holidays from FLorida. Stayed there for about an hour and half and came home (my grandmother usually is real tired after her long flight and can't do tooo much visiting the first night and not to mention that Garry and I were both tired from getting up at 4:30am and not being use to it yet). Needless to say my foot is paying for all that activity I did yesterday today. It was really sore today and Makenzie had to go sing with her Brownie troop at the retirement center this afternoon, but at least I got a hold of another mom from the troop and asked her to take and pick up Makenzie from the caroling which she did thank goodness!

Well that is about it for now. Sorry to have such a long post. The kids are off now until Jan 3rd. So it should be interesting trying to get last minute shopping done and wrapping done as well with all three home! I might have to start wrapping at night when everyone is in bed. The problem with that is if I do that, I loose sleep since now I am trying to get on the same schedule as Garry so we can have SOME KIND of NORMAL LIFE.

OH yeah, Garry did get his "company car" police cruise of his "own" this week and he got his office as well. It is soooo strange to see this unmarked cruiser sittting in our driveway. But let me tell you, it great since all the gas he uses in that car is paid for by the city ( he really only drives it to and from work and doing the things while at work of course) and he isn't using our car's gas to and from work. OH yeah, he also got a cell phone that when people call his office and he isn't there, the calls are forwarded to the cell phone. The only thing bad about that is that he now has to have this phone with him at all times and he is "on call" ALL THE TIME (unless we are on vacation, but they still would like him to take it then too JUST in case they need to talk to him). It looks like for now he will NOT be going to the FBI acedemy for awhile (at least not in 2006 we think). But the following year is a different story.

Oh yeah, another thing and I'll go, as "acting Captain" he had to go to a meeting at the local cable station to hear about their up and coming "video calling" through them and Garry won a cordless phone! Boy is this promotion already paying off! LOL!!! We are also now one of the "test market groups" for when the get this service working. I laughed at Garry when he told me this because I said, who are we going to call with the video phone? No one we know will have this service so are we suppose to call the cable people ever so often and say hi to them? LOL!!

Well, gonna go. It is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past my new bedtime and tomorrow morning Makenzie sings in church and then we have th police Christmas party to go to and then we are all going to look at Garry's new office since now we have to get things to hang on his walls in there. If anyone has anything we could hang in there........ send it our way.... pictures of you, Disney, world atlases, dogs playing poker, anything! He'll need stuff!!

Denine, if you guys don't have anything planned on Jan 1st, you are mor then welcome to see Garry get sworn in. It will be at 10am at Cassidy theater (the local theater over here, I use to be in plays there back in my younger years). I am trying to get something together for afterwards at maybe a restaurant, but I haven't gotten that far yet. If you can't come don't worry about it. We will plan soemthing for a weekend night for a celebration party. OF course not yet planned. Boy do have my work cut out for me these next two weeks!!!!

Not much time to read Julie's post, but I am glad to see her post!!!

Mom - if you read this before you get my message, what are you doing this afternoon? Can I come over and finish the blanket and get your opinion on the pants I bought this afternoon when Chris drops the girls off? Call me.

I know everyone has been busy so being busy is no excuse for not posting but last Friday a friend/co-worker moved in with her daughter. She was having marital problems & he was very verbally abusive & she just needed to get out of the house. When our kids were younger (before she re-married), we would vacation together so everyone knows each other. Now I am happy ALL the bedrooms are filled!!!!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

My daughter arrives from California tomorrow so we REALLy will have a full house.

Did you open your secret santa presents? I want to know what you all got.

Talked to Faith huh? I am jealous. I did get a Christmas card from Darren & he said he would look into the ten day cruise.

Well hope you are all ready for Santa. Christmas is coming way too fast. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR. Toodles extended family  :earsgirl: JEANNE

Man, I am worn out just from reading Julie's post!

Julie: What time on the 1st?

Jeanne: Sorry to hear about your friends marital problems.

Sandy: A potential buyer already and you can't sell it for 4 months? WOW!

We had a really nice time at the Christmas party yesterday. Kaleigh was still unsure of Santa, but she did sit on his lap without crying. That is a first. Kaleigh was so excited about her new game and the party, that she really didn't want to nap. She finally did. We were supposed to gout out to dinner and a movie last night, but our babysitter didn't show up. I called her house to find out she had a basketball game last night and never told us she could sit. Needless to say, all 3 of us were very disappointed. Katie is very nice and Kaleigh loves her, but I think she may have too many things on her plate. THe last time, she wrote down the wrong time so we had to call her to come and she was a 1/2 hour late. Other times, I have a hard time getting her to return my phone calls because she is so busy. The problem is, we don't know anyone else and it took us a long time to find her. The mom offerd us her almost 13 year old daughter, but I just felt she was too young, especially since we have never met her.

Today, we put together the gingerbread house kit. Kaleigh had a blast. It was fun and turned out really cute. I am going to make this a tradition.

We did start wrapping last night. I would like to do more tonight.

I have just been so worn out. My back has been hurting for a couple of weeks, so that is making it hard to sleep. I can't get comfortable. I am hoping the new mattress set will help. But, there is always so much to do and I have been working more days than normal in November and December. I have a time consuming dressing change I need to do at work, but it involves bending over for the whole time. That is part of why my back has been hurting. We don't have beds that raise, since most people sleep in their own regular beds.

I can't believe next weekend is Christmas!

Did anyone else get their Secret Santa yet? It is looking like we may have to wait until after the New Year. We can combine a wine chat with the present opening.

I am hoping to go give blood tomorrow evening. We will see how it goes. I haven't givine since August. The last time, I was kinda sick with the scratchy throat thing.

I have sent my secret santa gift but have not received one.

Here is a picture of my best friend's little boy that calls santa, Heidi Claus.

Good Morning!

Hope everyone's weekend went well. Didn't do to much this weekend
We had our Missionettes Christmas party last night. Nothing like 14 little girls on sugar overload! Yikes I am glad that is over. They were bouncing off the walls. We have 2 weeks off of teaching.

Now that the parties are over and most of the shopping is done things are winding down for us. I have some last minute stuff to finish this week but
almost done.

I am mailing my gift exchange gift. I have not received mine either. Did we ever decide the details yet?

How is the new mattresses Denine? Bob and I are still on a waterbed. I really want to replace but it seems there is always something the kids need more.

Barb: Glad your party went well.

Our new mattress comes tomorrow. I am looking forward to it!

Kaleigh is keeping goofy hours. She was up for at least 1-1/2 hours past her bedtime last night and she was awake at 4:30 this morning. DOn't know what time she actually got up, but at least she fell back to sleep and didn't get up until 9:30. I hope to get her down for her nap at normal time.

My hospice resident that was really on my mind on Friday died, probably yesterday. She is also the one with the dressing change. She is in a much better place and my back will get better.

Heidi: Cute picture

Julie: I saw the time on the 1st is for 10 AM. I don't know if we will make it. We asked John and Judy to stay over on the 31st so they don't have the long drive back to Eastlake with all the drunks. We won't know until that day.

Nothing else going on here, except we got more presents wrapped last night. I'd like to finish tonight since that is the room where the new bed is going to go and there won't be any room to wrap. I just need to get a mattress pad and I can make up the new bed with our old comforter set. I have sheets, blankets and pillows. I need to get curtains for the windows too.

Hi guys, a busy day today and more ahead. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Glad to see more posts. No Secret Santa gift yet. Did hear from Darren though. I will try and catch up with the reading tomorrow. Yea right. Tomorrow I will have BOTH Noah and Graci. Noah broke his arm for the third time in his short life and will require a lot of attention. He gets so bored when he has a cast on. Love to all.

Well, I made time to catch up. Now lets see if I can remember everything.

First of all, Julie. Your post cracked me up. Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah....... Lots going on huh?? How funny. And....I loved reading about Brooke and the cookies and juice. Just too cute. STAY OFF YOUR FOOT.

Denine, good to hear that Kaleigh somewhat accepted Santa. Hey, Have you ever tried those heat packs, can't remember the exact name but like thermal care. I love those soooo much. In fact, my back was killing me after wrapping so I put one of those on and feel much better. I also fly using one. Sitting in one spot kills me. Wouldn't hurt to try that is for sure.

Jeanne, glad you posted. I was getting concerned. How is your mom doing?

I think this group is so ready for a wine chat. I am up for one after the holidays. I know Denine is and I know for a fact that it won't take much convincing for Heidi either. Barb and your group, what do you think? Julie? I would think I would have to call Bonnie to let her know. Jeanne??

It is my bedtime so goodnight. Hopefully will be back on tomorrow. Anyone have any good appetizer recipes for me for Christmas Eve? Heidi stole mine that someone on another thread gave me so I am now looking again. Anyway, sweet dreams.

Who me, never!!! Now why would I do that. (Jrsy Boy likes me better anyway. ;) He really only posted it for me :earboy2: )

Heidi Ann, when I ask a question and JrsyBoy responded to me with an answer, now tell me.......WHO has rights to the recipe?? :earboy2: Yep, ME!! Oh well, nothing better to do today but sit around reading recipes while I have two little ones demanding my time and attention. Now don't feel bad or anything Heidi. Just remember what JrsyBoy said. TOOTHBRUSH. You will never know when he will strike!! And remember I DO have keys to your place! :earboy2: LYMI

Do not drink a hot beverage while reading this, I almost spit my green tea all over the computer screen but literally choked it down after reading this~~

Good Morning,

Finally got a minute to post.

Julie- You sound sooooo busy! I loved having little kids even though you are always running. Are you planning on going on the Sept 10 day cruise?

Denine- Glad Kaleigh decided Santa was ok. 3 of my kids were never afraid but boy could Tiffany scream when I set her on Santa's lap. I was so sad to miss out on Santa pictures when she was little.

I am on hold with DVC. Trying to get all our travel information cleared up. Missy and Ethan are going with us too. I am looking forward to getting Ethan's pictures with Mickey!

Never a dull moment around here. We had just finished wrapping the rest of the presents and put all the stuff away. We sat down on the couch with some pretzels and a 7 & 7 each when we both heard a very strange noise. We didn't know what it was. Then we heard it again and Jerry said that was a cough. I thought it was no ordinary cough. I was on my way upstairs when I hear the crying. Kaleigh was sitting up in bed with this horrible croupy cough. She was crying and gagging and threw up. She could hardly talk or take a breath. I changed her jammies and off we went to the emergency room. I had no idea what to do for croup except steam, but she was having a hard time breathing. Of course, being sick , she only wanted mommy, so I had to hold her and carry her. My back hurts! They gave her a cold mist treatment and a shot of decadron (steroids) and did a chest x-ray. They said it would take about an hour for the decadron to kick in. It did and she could talk again and breathe better. Of course, before she got the treatments, she was crying and upset about the wrist bands they put on her, so, she started coughing again and threw up all over herself and some on me. Then, she didn't want the gown so we wrapped her in a blanket while Jerry went home for more jammies. Luckily, we only live about 10 minutes from the place. We left about 11 PM. They said she should be OK today, but it could happen again tonight. I am prepared, but don't want it to happen again. She still has a cough, not as bad and gets hoarse once in a while. She was hoarse yesterday evening, but denied any problems. Now we know why. She has been clingy and demanding all day. Not sick enough to just be held like last night, just enough to be a pain.

I tried to give blood last night, but was given a 1 year deferral instead. It seems our little side trip to Manzanillo was considered high risk for malaria. I tried.

My new bed frame and mattress set came today. I need steps to get onto my bed now! :rotfl2: It is weird having a bed in the front bedroom now, but it will be nice to be able to have guests once in a while.

I am now in charge of making cheesy potatoes for Christmas at Jerry's parents house. It doesn't matter that I don't have a recipe. I will find one though.

Kohl's is having a 50% off sale on mattress pads, need to go see what the prices are. BJ's didn't have any when we went yesterday.

Barb: I love those early pictures with Kaleigh at WDW. I have one of her at 3 months being held by Pooh hanging on my refrigerator. I am sure Ethan will enjoy it.

Sandy: I just bought my appetizers for NYE at BJ's, but then I work that morning and I am trying to make it easier on myself. I am still making ribs in the crockpot and Emeril's stovetop baked beans. I am buying coleslaw cabbage and dressing. New Years Day is a pork roast with sauerkraut in the crockpot and spaetzle, which I will buy to make my life easier. If we go to Garry's thing, I will put off my NYD dinner. I love sauerkraut balls, but that is more of a NYE thing. How about bacon wrapped scallops?

Jerry and I didn't get to bed until 1 AM and he had to be up at 4:30 for work. I checked on Kaleigh at that time.

Sandy: I do have those therma care heat things. They feel nice, but only help sometimes.

I now have several recipes for cheesy potatoes and one uses tater tots. That one looks interesting.

I think I am going to go try out my new bed. Who knows how late I will be up tonight?

Wow Denine, how scary. Glad Kaleigh is doing better. What a night for you.
