Hey Sally, we got the snow, too. Ted was called out last night at 2 in the morning to plow. I think he has to "unvolunteer" to do that. He has too much on his plate to miss sleep. It is very beautiful but now I have to go shovel that beauty. :rotfl2: He still isn't home yet.
You need to take pictures of your tree and post them for us. I would love to see them.

Denine, that's good that Kaleigh was such a good girl at the dentist. Graci wasn't so super when I took her to her mom for her first cleaning and it was HER MOM!!! Every little girl needs a kitchen set. She will play and play with it. I remember cleaning my nephew's potty. He never aimed and even when I quit babysitting him at like 11 or 12 he was STILL missing the pot. I have cleaned enough potty for a lifetime.

Jeanne, how did the dilemma on the M&M tree come out?

Thinking of you Julie. :love2:

I am doing pretty good about Christmas. I need to make my peanut brittle soon. That is weighing pretty heavy on me right now. It makes such a mess for awhile cuz I make such so many batches that I leave everything out for a few days just so I don't have to take things in and out. Got the party mix done. Need to shop for Ted and Heidi and a couple of EASY gifts. Need to wrap. No cookies made at our house.

Need creative ideas for Ted this Christmas. He doesn't need anything or want anything. Any suggestions? He always wants movie gift cards or restaurant gift cards and usually gets them from someone. Can anyone help me, PLEASE??

:rolleyes1 Oh shoot. I am just checking to see if anyone posted. Oh well, guess I will get ready to bundle up and visit the grandbabies. Heidi is babysitting tonight for them. Ted got home around noon and is napping now. They might need him again in the morning if the next storm hits. Visited our friend and uncle. Louise got very pale over night and her breathing is very noisy. She pretty much only sleeps now. Now Uncle Bill on the other hand is doing awesome. :cool1:

I just wrote a long post and it disappeared....I hate that!! :badpc: :badpc:

We had snow all day yesterday and it is really cold now...l9 degrees. Dick use to go out and plow when he was a township trustee and his guys would be out for hours...Ohio gets a lot of snow when it snows...I have pictures of our house with the snow up to the windows....

Sandy, a funny story about boys and their aim...when my grandson was little he said he use to get on the counter in the bathroom and try to hit the pottie and he got so good at it he decided to turn out the light so it would be more of a challenge...of course his mom never knew until he got older and told her. He has two sons now and the other day he was complaining about having to clean up after his 4 year old because his aim was bad :rotfl: I told him it served him right....what goes around does come around..

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Exactly! Watch what you do when you are young because somehow, someway, it will come back to get you! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thinking of all of you today. Everyone must be busy with the holiday season approaching. Love to all.

I guess we were the only ones around today.....it is time for bed and it is still really cold...it will feel so nice to snuggle down in my flannel sheets...good night

Hi guys! I'm here and alive. My foot is still bandaged and I see the dr today (mon.) for him to change the bandage. I was given vicadine (sp) for the pain. It really hasn't been too bad. The surgery took an hour. The dr. took pictures of the whole thing and when I was in recovery, he had to show me them. They took out a "tumor" that was the size of a quarter! I was surprised to see it was that size. I had asked for crutches to use for my dad's retirement party and since we were going to get snow and I couldn't get my foot wet, I thought that it would be a good idea to have. The dr. did agree to let me have them so I have been using them and it has been snowing here. The dr. also gave me a temp handicap parking permit. He gave the prescript for it for only a month, BUT when we went to the DMV to pick it up, they told me that I couldn't get it for only a month, SO they gave me it to me for 3 months!! LOL!! It is good until the end of march Great for when I need to go for last minute Christmas shopping!!! My foot has been throbbing and of course my toes are numb, but it should start feeling better soon, right? Garry has been doing alot of work around here and I really appreciate it. My mom took the kids on wed and thurs. so I could have some peace and quiet and that was a big help for us. The kids have been pretty good about not touching the foot. Of course I haven't been following the Dr's EXACT orders about staying off the foot and keeping ice in it, etc. but that's me! I have "tweeked" it a few times trying to do too much, but I just got off it and put some ice on it. It should be interesting to see what the dr. says today. I'll let you know about it. I didn't go to the Browns game today and that really bothered me that I couldn't go, but Garry took Anna Marie and that was ok.

Jeanne, I want to know about the M&M tree too! What happened?

Sally, I wish you lived me! You are sooooooooooooo busy! I would love to take lessons from you! You are my hero!!!

Heidi, I did get your order for cookies. Thank you and to your mom too! Makenzie was high selling girl in her troop! She sold 240 boxes!!

Sandy, ideas for Ted???? It is hard for me with Garry! He just keeps telling me that he wants a new computer and that's it. I really think that guys are soooooooo hard to buy for. Girls are easy. I told Garry anything disney, jewelery (doesn't have to be expensive) nice driving gloves (I always loose mine every year), perfume he likes! anything like that. He tells me I'm the hard one to buy for. My brother is getting my dad a lawn service ( I'm sure Ted likes to be out in his yard though) if he likes coffee, the SENSCO coffee machine is nice. It brews a cup of coffee with a coffee pod (they also sell tea pods too), or the Coffee Machine from the Apprentice ( I looked into that machine, and it looks good! With that one, you can even make hot chocolate and lattes). What about a wine or beer club? He would get 2 bottles of wine or a selection of beers each month for him to try. If I can think of any other ideas, I'll let you know.

The Christmas exchange date.... When does Barb leave? How about the week of the 12th some time? Maybe on the 15th or 16th? Just pick a date and hopefully everyone will get thier gift and we can open them.

Well, gonna go. I think I might be getting sleepy. I'll stop in later today after I get back from the Dr's.

Have a great day!

TTFN

Julie, bless your heart.....glad your foot is getting better....I think you and Sandy have had enough problems this year.....

How did you know I was a hero...I have kept my costume hidden in the closet.... :rotfl: only kidding....I am not any busier than anyone else and I would not do anything if I didn't want to but I would be bored out of my mind..also at my age I have to keep doing things so old age can't catch up with me. Having my granddaughter coming over everyday and running around with her helps keep me young.

But I have decided I have to cut back a lot of what I want to do before I leave.....I am making cards so won't do the two albums I was hoping to finish and I have a dress to make so won't do anymore decorating. So today I am going to put the rest of the decorations away and not put them out. I still have a little shopping to do but I am going to go the gift certificate way if I don't find anything. I love gift certificates....

Sally - your story about your grandson was hilarious!!!! :rotfl2: What were you doing up at 2:00am? That is way way late!!!!!!

Julie - glad your foot is doing okay. I would be the same way....what Dr. order? But be careful!!!!

I had a busy weekend. We went to the girls first basketball game and that was a lot of fun to see. Then I had to babysit the twins which was so much fun!!!! They are so much fun and really help you out when you are in an off mood!!!! Sunday was my best friend's son's birthday party. We had a lot of fun there, it was a Bronco themed party and we ate lots and watched the game...too bad we lost against Kansas City...oh well we are 9-3.

I wanted to put up the Christmas decorations and tree but only got as far as decorating the banister with garland and lights and putting a wreath outside on the balcony with lights. My mom and dad said that since I made them put the tree up it is time for them to make me put up my tree, we are doing it Saturday.

Here is my vent for the week: We got home a little late last night so I had to jump in the shower and Chris was supose to do our laundry because we were both commenting on how we don't have anything to wear to work in the am, well after I got done drying my hair Chris came up stairs to go to bed at 8:00. I went downstairs to find that he did not fold the laundry that he put in the dryer or put the clothes in the washer into the dryer. I went to do the things that weren't done only to find it was only his clothes and 2 lounge pants and a long sleeve shirt of mine. I am so frustrated. I did all of our laundry before and after the cabin (washing, drying, folding) but he can't even do one load for me.....I am so mad.

It is nice to read some ordinary posts.

Julie: Glad to hear all is OK with the foot. Now, you must follow Drs orders or it won't heal properly! Way to go Makenzie!

My secret santa will be in the mail tomorrow. Jerry had too much to take to work today to take that too.

Sally: FUnny pee story!

Heidi: Don't do his laundry the next time. He will get the idea.

We put up pur tree on Saturday and Sunday and the rest of the decorations. I just need a ponsettia and a wreath for the front door. I made gingerbread man dough today.

Went to our friends on Saturday. We had a nice time. The awful part was driving home. It was snowing and the roads hadn't been touched. It was white knuckle all the way home and our friends live and hour from here. There were cars sliding around everywhere. Poor Jerry.

Jerry has been under so much stress lately. He wakes up at 2 AM ever morning with a migraine. By the time he falls asleep, the alarm goes off. He is exhausted! His dad is doing very poorly. He is hallucinating at night without any pain medicine. I told his mom, she may as well give him the morphine at night since he is already hallucinating. He can't get up anymore, so his mom has him in diapers. He can barely feed himself. He yells at Jerry's mom ALL the time. She talked to JErry for over an hour on Saturday and she was in tears some of the itme. However, she refuses to admit that he is dying and needs hospice. "If something happens, I can't call 911". She thinks this has happened so fast. He had to retire on disability 8 years ago and had gangrene removed from some toes at that time. Jerry suggested she call the priest. SHe siad he saw the priest in August when he was in the hospital. Jerry said that with CHristmas coming, he may want to say confession. His dad could really stand to get a lot off his chest. I suggested celebrating Christmas early. His mom couldn't understand why. I told Jerry his dad may not be here come Christmas or be able to celebrate at that time. I said a few months ago that he would be lucky to make it to the end of the year. Nothing has changed my mind. Jerry's mom is calling the VIsiting Physicians today since he can't get to the doctor. WHo knows when they will come? Jerry's dad has already said no more hospitals, but his mom is ready to do anything that will keep him alive. It is all so frustrating because Jerry and I are the only ones that can see what is happening. His parents don't have Wills. There has been no planning of any kind. At this point, at least survivorship will take over. I just needed to get this off my chest.

Sandy: Men are very hard to buy for. Jerry never gives me any ideas. He never wants anything. I like the wine club idea. We have actually looked into that for ourselves.

Secret santa: I can do the 16th.

Kaleigh's mouth is much better. I just need to call the dentist to let him know.

My mind is racing with stuff to get done.

Happy Monday!

Thought I would drop in. Hey Mom I love the little smiley guys you add to your posts. You are getting to be quite the computer wiz!

Had a good weekend. We had a Christmas party for the guys that work for Bob on Saturday. I spent the entire day cleaning and getting ready. It snowed all day so I was thinking none of them would come. But we had a houseful. One of the guys got the cutiest pictures of one of my cats. I swear he loves to pose. He would change positions after every few shots!

We are having another Christmas party for our Missionettes. Tiffany and I have about 20 3rd and 4th graders, should be a wild night at our house

I watched this really fun special on "Holidays at Walt Disney World" They showed all the cool displays at the resorts. Can't wait to tour them!

Hi everyone,

I agree with Denine. :cool1: It was great reading regular posts. :cool1:

Our friend passed away last night around 9PM. It might sound bad but we are relieved. I feel sad but happy at the same time. She was in so much pain and like Jerry's dad, was in denial. She is definitely in a better place. She didn't want a funeral. At her request she was cremated and wants her ashes spread in Barb and Sally's neck of the woods. She had a VERY rough childhood and felt that her life was best in Colorado Springs. She wants to be spread in a location that overlooks the Springs. Barb and Sally, any ideas?? Pikes Peak is my idea but the roads would be so treacherous right now. Heidi thought Seven Falls area.

Denine, :grouphug: hugs to you and Jerry. You know that Ted and I can relate. You feel so helpless and not even the doctor is helping you. I love the idea of an early Christmas. Too bad they don't understand. Do they have a social worker in charge of the visiting Physicians? Maybe you could contact them. The social worker is the one that got the hospice rolling for us. All we did was ask to talk to her and then she was our liason with the doctor. We finally got truths about her condition and then the doctor brought up the hospice idea. She shot it down and then between the doctor and Ted a second time she accepted. They are definitely in denial and I can understand that. The hospital Chaplain was also great through this. She would talk to us and to Louise. I pray for you that they will come around. It would be the best for everyone.

Sally, your Christmas card was returned to me today. It said, no such address. I will remail it to see what happens this time.

Julie, OUCH!! Not to sound like a mother or OLDER SISTER but you MUST follow doctors orders!!

Barb, you must be an excellent hostess. You seem to always be having parties. How fun!

:cold: It was a blustery day. The wind was gusting up to 90 miles an hour. It was soooooo cold. :cold: I just can't stress how cold it was. :cold: Wednesday the high is to be NINE!! :cold: Looks like we are in for a cold :cold: winter. Barb and Sally, how was it in the Springs?

Well, I am off to go pick up Ted's car at the shop. It was only a tune up. Today we were going to take Heidi out to lunch and stopped the Suburban in front of her office and my car wouldn't restart without a jump so we will pick up his car and drop mine off. We know that it isn't the battery. Yikes!! Wow, a nice Christmas for the mechanic on Ted and I. :rotfl2: Just last week we had our friends car in to be worked too. He's gotta love the Van Horns!

I have been wrapping presents ALL day. Who knew wrapping presents could make you so tired.

First of all my Disney tree is up & so is my regular tree. The problem is with the Mickey ::MickeyMo & Minnie ::MinnieMo that are about three feet tall & move which are usually standing in my front window. Well they are still there but you can't see them because my mother doesn't want the lights on. So they just stand there & no one can see them.

I hear we got a BONUS$$$$$$$ this year & boy can I use it. There hasn't been any overtime available.

DENINE: I know about those big people diapers too! I am more of the lochia queen!

TED & SANDY: You look like movie stars!

The snow is coming... Suppose to start any minute. :cold: :cold: If you watch Monday Night Football you will see Philadelphia & that is MY weather.
Hope you all stay warm. It looks like the whole country has snow :cold: :cold: :cold: Miss you all :grouphug: Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

Sandy: Sorry to hear about your friend, but I certainly understand the relief. Jerry's mom called the visiting doctors today and it will take about 10 days to process everything. So, it will be awhile before he is seen.

Jeanne, Jeanne, the lochia queen! :rotfl2:

We went out and got the poinsettia and wreath for the front door. Would you believe, the poinsettia is purple? They had the coolest colors! I have never seen colors like that before. Went to Walmart looking for the Disney Candyland. No one has it. I found it on-line for 19-22 bucks. That is a bit steep.

Received my Secret Santa today. My curiosity is sure peaked, it is heavy!

Going to make more cookie dough tomorrow.

Barb: The hostess with the mostest!

Good Morning!

I am posting from home because I have an all day grammer class today. Writing letters is another one of jobs my team handles. Every year we get a refresher. This will be the 3rd time we have had to take a class. UGH! Grammer has never been one of my strong suits.

Sandy Ted & Heidi- I am so sorry to hear about your friend, I bet you are relieved that she is no longer suffering. I will think on the ashes thing. Don't you have to have some sort of permit? I think the mountains are beautiful and peaceful. There are a lot of really pretty spots close to here.

Congratulations to Mackenzie on being the top seller! Do you get anything for it? One year Jaymee was one of the top in the city. She got to go on a trip. I am still surprised that they sell girl scout cookies this time of year in Ohio. I thought all cookies were sold at the same time. Have they always been this time of year? Cookies sales in Colorado are done in January then delivered in February.

Denine- Sounds like the potty training is really coming along. I am sure dreading Ethan going through that. You will have to remind me of all the stuff that has worked for Kaleigh.

Jeannie your room sounds really cute. I love themed trees. Can you get less watts bulbs for Mickey and Minnie? I bet it makes you sad to see them standing there not lit up. Congrats on the bonus!!! Where is Bonnie? How come she does not post anymore? Tell her I said hi!

I am actually a lousy hostess. I love to plan and prepare for parties but I am not a very good entertainer. I was so glad this party was the guys that work for Bob because I felt off the hook to entertain them. :teeth:

Well it is suppose to snow today. It is suppose to start around noon and we are suppose to get about an inch then tonight 4 to 6 more inches. I am already dreading the drive into work tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Wow, was it ever windy here in CO. We had such high winds here that they were implementing a liberal leave for yesterday. They had to evacuate the 13th and 14th floor because the windows were shaking and they were afraid they might break. When I found out that Lou passed away and we were on liberal leave I took the afternoon off and went shopping with my mom. Actually the person acting for my boss made me and forced me to go home. I was suppose to be giving my mom christmas ideas for me but instead ended up buying 4 pairs of jean, 2 sweatshirts (my mom bought one for me) and 1 tank top for a grand total of..........$20!!!! They cashier told me I saved $231, talk about bargain shopping!!!! Made my day better!!!!!

Had an emotional night last night and did not receive one hug or consoling from my boyfriend so that made things worse and I was a wreck. So I moved my dining room around, hauled up the Christmas tree from the garage and put it up all by myself. Went to bed and my boyfriend woke up to say he was sorry, too late the damage was done and I couldn't believe he was so selfish. Woke up this morning and he apologized again.

Barb - I watched that show too!!! I can't believe your cat poses, that is hilarious!!!

Julie - WooHoo Mackenzie, top seller...what does she get? How are you doing?

Heidi: SOunds like your BF needs a whack on the head lately! I can't imagine it being that windy! At least you got your tree up.

Barb: We have tried so many things with Kaleigh that I don't know what finally worked. I think being bribed with the big toy helped. Personally, I don't like giving parties. I hate having that many people in my house at one time. I do like having people over for dinner, usually 1 couple at a time.

Kaleigh is driving me nuts about cookies. Are they ready yet? I have only made the dough for 3 batches of cookies. Jerry likes to help cut out and decorate.

Cold today, 19. I hate the cold. DId anyone know that?

Kaleigh can't wait to open the secret santa, but she thinks we are waiting for people to come here to open it. She got a present from St. Nicholas this morning; the Chutes and Ladder game.

Jerry didn't get a migraine last night so he actually got a full nights sleep.

Julie: I can almost guarantee a snow storm on the 24th and 3rd. We are going to my parents on the 24th and I have an eye appointment in Solon on the 3rd. So, plan accordingly.

So, where is Bonnie?

Hi everyone!

Sandy, Heidi and Ted, so sorry to hear about your friend. But she isn't suffering anymore. Hopefully your lives can get back to some sort of normal routine.

Heidi, give your boyfriend a nice wack in the head!! Sometimes guys just don't think about our feelings. We take some much more personally and harder then most of them.(we'll talk later...wink wink!) BUT I have too, is everything going ok with him? He seems so nice and for him to act this way the last few days could something be wrong with him? Just a thought.

Barb, you know what got the Big Guy potty trained? It waas going to Disney and on the cruise! Why that worked beats me, but kids are soooooooooooooooo different when it comes to potty training. Makenzie took 2 days! We got big girl underwear on Thursday for her. SHe had accidents on friday and on saturday she had 2 and that was it! The Big Guy I thought I would see him graduate with a diaper it took sooo long. It should be interesting to see how Brooke does.
As for the girl scout cookies, Ohio usually sells them in the spring, but for some reason this year they decided to sell them in the fall. I think Makenzie will get something for top seller in her troop, but I'm not sure what.

Denine, we will probably have a snow storm on Jan 1st for Garry's swearing in too! We will have to get together soon just because.

My foot is KILLING me today!! He re-bandaged my foot, cleaned it up and then took some xrays of it and I'll see him next monday to have the bandages changed again. Then the following week maybe the stitches will be removed. He cut my foot from the bottom of my foot between my third and fourth toe and two inches on top of my foot. So it looks like a big fish hook. I didn't think that it would be that big! He said that maybe by Christmas I will be in a slipper type of shoe. All I know is on Jan 1st, I WILL BE in NORMAL SHOES at least for the swearing in.

Well, gonna go. Makenzie is due home from school soon (she is being dropped off oneof her friends mom). I'll check back in later!!

TTFN

:sunny: We are not looking at the sun. It is so darn windy and cold AGAIN. :cold: We are to get something like 4-6" too. I hate to drive in it and have to tomorrow. I was asked to work at LAWL's open house. They have been so kind to me that I would feel bad not showing up. And besides that......I will get paid by 100.00 worth of their products. :cheer2:

Barb, the mortuary told us that we DO NOT need a permit. He said that we just can't scatter them on private property. It was a surprise to us both. Our son in law told us that there might be a good spot by Cheyenne Mtn Zoo. How is the weather holding out for you?

Denine, you already got your gift? Someone was sure on the ball. I used to make cookies every year and kind of miss it. I still haven't made my peanut brittle yet. Maybe I should get off the computer and I could get some things done! :teeth:

Heidi, I am thinking about making those rocky road bars today. I thought that was something that Graci could do. I remember that you used to love them. By the way, the Suburban is FINE!!! He said just a lose battery cable. It makes me nervous with it though cuz dad has been checking the battery and he even got a new one. Cross your fingers that it doesn't happen again and Bob at SW Auto is right. Bob was so cute. He said that if I am too nervous to drive tonight that he would pull it in the garage and I can pick it up tomorrow. By the way (again), he is a coach in the athletic dept at Dakota Ridge. How is that possible??

Julie - I don't know what was up with Chris, he doesn't even know. I think he whacked himself on the back of the head. He keeps calling and apologizing for last night and saying he didn't know why he was in such a bad mood and taking it out on me.

I hope he didn't charge you anything for just a loose battery cable because you have brought the other 2 cars in!!!!

hmmm, coach at Dakota Ridge....I wonder for what sport. What do you mean how is that possible? I thought anyone can be a coach, but then again maybe they need to be a teacher to be a coach....I dunno.
