We watched Saving Privat Ryan last night in honor of Veteran's Day. We also bought a new flag yesterday. I felt bad we didn't have a flag to display, but ours was worn and tattered.

I have the munchies today. I am trying to be good, but it isn't easy.

Barb: Have fun at your craft fairs!

:cheer2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE AND SUSAN !!!!! :cheer2:

I feel so bad that I missed your birthdays. Was so busy the last couple of days with our friend in the hospital. She isn't doing well at all. Hey nurses, she has COPD. Is that the same as emphasema (oh my, can't spell it :rotfl: )?? We have known about the COPD but a dr yesterday came in and mentioned her emphasema. So Ted and I aren't sure if it is the same thing. She also had a protein in her urine that they are going to check out by an xray and maybe a bone marrow sample. She also has the severe colitis and asthma.

Hopefully going to Armadillos before the hospital today just to get a little bit of normalcy.

Weather is cold and windy but sunny. Sounds like maybe some snow down here Monday night into Tues. No accumulation expected here. Our mtns are getting hit HARD.

Julie, blushing over costumes. Sounds like something I would do. BUT if Heidi was with we would break out into laughter and get kicked out of the theater. Do tell us more.

Denine, I have never watched Saving Private Ryan. I just don't think I could handle it.

Sally, what in the world :confused3 were you doing up at midnight typing on the computer?? Don't forget to call me if you want to talk about the diet. I can't call you unless your name is Stanley and work at HP. :rotfl2:

Jeanne, we miss you too.

Just popping in to see if someone else posted today. Guess it is a busy day for everyone. Our friend was just told today that now she is in stage 4 kidney failure and that she has a spot on her lungs. When it rains it pours.....

Goodnight. I am so tired. Just had dinner for my BIL and his family. They adopted 3 adorable but very active kids from China and Cambodia. All are 7 mos apart and 5 and under. Yikes. It was a loud and busy night.

Good Morning!

I am here too. Have been busy this morning, have not had time to post.

had a great weekend but it went by tooooo fast!

Tonight is suppose to be really cold, suppose to drop 30 degrees in an hour
burrrrrrrr......

Hi everyone! Just heard from Susan. SHe has been having a pretty rough time. Here's her e-mail:

Sorry to hear about Sandy's mom. I have been "missing" from the DISBoards for a while now. Lots going on on this end. I took a short leave from work because my Dad was having a bad time with his heart, my Mom had some female surgery and I had some pretty major problems with my ulcerative colitis. I am just back at work today so I haven't caught up on everything yet. I obviously haven't been on the boards in a while so I have no clue what is going on with everyone. I can't access it from work and never seem to have computer time at home anymore, but I will try to get on n the next few days.

Thanks for sending flowers and including the Disney family.

We are going through a reorg at work and there is a real good chance I will be displaced by the end of the year so I am also getting my resume up to date and starting the job search. I miss you all. Tell everyone the Schrolls say hello.

Just thought you all would like to know she misses us and will try to get back soon!

I'll be on more tomorrow! Busy day for me! Tomorrow is an early release from school (1:15pm instead of 3:15pm) so it will be slightly crazy. but I will return!

TTFN

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO JULIE AND SUSAN. Sorry I missed posting your birthday wishes on the day of your birthdays.

Good morning everyone.

Julie - thanks for posting Susan's email, sounds like she is having a rough time as well. The costumes sound amuzing...I guess that is when my immaturity comes out!!!!

Hugs and Pixie Dust to Susan.

I had a very busy weekend. Went to see Chicken Little, I wasn't looking forward to seeing it, but it turned out to be a pretty good movie!!! My cousins wedding was yesterday and that kept my family very busy. I didn't really get the chance to enjoy my four day weekend because I was always on the move doing something. Oh well in 2 weeks we will be at the cabin and won't have to do a thing!!!!

Mom - I can't believe how many things are wrong with Lou. Sounds so scary and sounds like she is dying...not again...I repeat this year really sucks for us. Will dad even want to go to the cabin? This is the same lady that I was panicking about when my mom and dad went on the Panama Canal cruise.

You know what, Heidi? I was wondering the same thing about the cabin. I wouldn't be surprised that he DOESN'T want to go but feels he HAS to for the family.

Oh, poor Susan. I wish I could just reach out and hug her! She has had it rough for quite awhile now. Hugs to her. THanks for sharing her email, Julie!

I'm here!

We had a good time at our friends on Saturday, as always. They are coming over here for NYE.

Sunday, we put together Kaleigh's toddler bed. I got it all fixed up and Jerry went downstairs to tell her there was a surprise in her room. She came up and said "it's bootiful, thank you". Needless to say, she loves it. We still have to take the crib apart and put it in the basement. Later on that day, we went to my parents. My dad was having computer problems, so we went to see if Jerry could help. It seems to be a software problem. Don't know if the company fixed it yet.

Yesterday, we went to Amish. We had a really nice time. Didn't buy much. I did finally get an iron skillet. I seasoned it today. We went to the wine place, but they were closed due to a death in the family. Disappointing for us, but completely understandable. Once we got home, it was bath time for the princess and then we "played" a game.

Today is a rainy, miserable day.

Sorry to hear about all of Sue's troubles. I hope things improve for her and her family.

Sandy: Sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately, it sounds like it may be time for hospice. Has that been mentioned? COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It is a catch-all and includes asthma and emphysema.

We unexpectedly lost one of our residents on Sunday. She went out Thursday with a heart attack, but when I called Friday morning to find out if she had been admitted, they said she was improving. I saw her name in the paper yesterday. Quite a shock. She must have had another MI. I will find out on Thursday.

Heidi: We are going to see Chicken Little on Saturday. Haven't been to a movie theater in a long time. Kaleigh will stay home with the babysitter. She doesn't sit still for more than 30 seconds unless she is sick or exhausted!

Leftovers for dinner.

Julie: So, when are we getting together?

Denine, loved your post. So interesting. "Bootiful" bed is so adorable. I loved it. Is she staying in it? I am jealous. I have been wanting an iron skillet. Not fair that you have one. I have a glass top stove. I have been wondering if I can even use it on it. Thanks for addressing the COPD. They haven't even mentioned hospice but Ted and I were wondering just the other day if she needs it or is even close to it. Today Ted called up at the hospital on the respiratory floor where she has been the last 2 weeks and they said they didn't have a _______ (her name). Ted said well you did, where is she?? Then they told him they took her to the cardiac floor because her heart wasn't doing well last night. He was at least happy to hear she was still in the hosp. Her poor body must be shutting down. That is all that I can think of. It has to be so hard on you living the hospice life at work. My hat goes off to you!

Julie, good to talk to you. Wish it was longer. Call me again when you have more time. Hugs.

Hello everyone!

Sorry to hear Susan is having some challenging times. Pixie dust to the Schrolls family.

Denine- Kaleigh sounds adorable. Sure hope I get to see her again before she goes off to college!

Bob and I went to see Chicken Little while in Oklahoma. Tiffany was busy with college stuff so we went to the mall then the movies. It was cute. Not a Toy Story but it was cute.

What else could possibly go wrong, OMG poor Lou.

Good Morning Everyone!!

Hang in there Heidi I will be thinking about you. I am not one to get shots, my thinking is "If it's not broke don't fix it" but boy did I have the worst case of the flu I have ever had last year. My Mom on the other hand is one of the first in line to get her flu shot, humm don't remember last time she had the flu.

Sandy: If your friend has stage 4 renal failure, the only treatment is dialysis or transplant. But, she has the heart problems and the COPD. Not easy to make the decision. Have you talked to your friend to see what she wants to do independent of the doctors?
Yes, Kaleigh stays in her bed to sleep. She gets out to play, but crawls back in. Jazz was sleeping on her bed when I took her for naptime. he didn't look like he had any intentions to move, so I let him stay in the torture chamber. I told Kaleigh she had to leave the door open partway though.

Heidi: I had my flu shot a couple of weeks ago. My arm was really sore after, but no problems.

Barb: I get my flu shot because we get them free at work. I didn't get one last year. I think I average every other year for them.

It is sooo cold out :cold: :cold: We had so much wind last night that both Jerry and I thought our bedroom window was going to blow in. It is still really windy, but not as bad as last night. The lid blew off my compost bin. I tried to put it on, but it blew off again. I stuck it in the garage. The temps keep falling and it is 38 right now. Supposed to get the S word later. I am freezing! :cold: I am wrapped up in a blanket drinking my tea with my nose running. Kaleigh keeps complaining about how cold my hands are. It says it is 65 in the house, but it feels colder.

Kaleigh is off the potty wagon. She did so good for 2 weeks. Now, we have to beg her to go potty and she has lost a bunch of toys today. We even bought her gummy bears. When will this child be potty trained??????????!!!!!!

Sandy: I have the villain paper towels because they had Captain Hook on them. I hate them. They are soo cheap. I usually like that brand too.

Iron skillet: It really wasn't expensive, only 8 something. I have a glass topped stove too. I will see what happens.

Denine, the paper towels are cheap both quality and looks but I love Toy Story!! A dr. went in to the hospital room and told her with everything else going on it wouldn't even be worth it to go on dialysis. He pretty much told her she is dying. Wow she hated that doctor! She is planning on leaving the hosp tomorrow. That is HER plans not the hospitals. We will see. Sounds like you are getting our weather that we had earlier in the week. It was soooo windy and then it snowed and is still cold. Let me know about the iron skillet. I can't wait to hear how you like it.

Ok, you little wimp Heidi. I got a flu shot a couple of weeks ago and today I got my second Hep A shot. I didn't complain did I?? They took 2 vials of blood, too. Did I complain. Nope!!

Hey Heidi, I need you to read my PM about getting a DCLhorn as my cell phone ringtone. Maybe you can help me. Thanks!

Good morning everyone...

Haven't posted for awhile...been busy with the usual.....I finished Barb's album of her childhood for her birthday but gave it to her early since we are going to be gone....now Linda wants an album so am going to do one for her for Christmas.....what is really strange is I have the least amount of pictures of her and she is my first born....

Got all my Thanksgiving cards made and sent out yesterday...now to finish the Christmas ones....Barb is coming over tonight and I am going to teach her how to make cards.....I think MIssy is coming too...

My granddaughter and I are going to an all night crop tomorrow night.....she won't last past midnight...lol but she wants to try it. I stayed up until 2 or 3 when Linda was here so I know I can outlast her....

Most of my flowers got it this week except the petunias are still going but it is so cold at night I don't see how they can last much longer...

Denine, don't worry about Kaleigh's potty training.....I found that when they are ready they quit. Now Patti's daughter on the other hand was a different story....Patti was trying to train her and her mother in law said she could train her in one day so Patti told her to go to it and sure enough she took her one day and she came home the same day trained and never had another accident.

Heidi, I don't like needles but the ones they use for the flu don't hurt....

Sandy, I don't think I will do the diet until after the holidays.....I have tried but not doing so well....I just can't get motivated.
