Thanks Denine! Needed that! Sitting here waiting for Heidi and then we are headed to the funeral. I just needed a little bit of you guys so I thought I would check in. Hugs.

Sandy and Heidi: Thinking about you today.

A bit busy at work today, but no big deal. Just get paid for 20 more minutes.

Went for a walk a little while a go. Still supposed to be nice tomorrow.

Hopefully Jerry will not have a migraine tomorrow, it is Saturday.

Kaleigh was good today. She has done really well with the potty yesterday and today. The incentive is no Halloween candy unless she goes potty. She likes to pick from her bucket, but she always picks the yucky, gummy stuff.

Nothing else going on here.

Feel bad when I am not on the boards for several days
Been really busy at home. My cousin came over & steam cleaned my carpets today. They look like brand new!

SANDY: I am so sorry for your loss. Hope the flowers gave you a lift.

CONGRATULATION TO CAPTAIN KANGAROO!!!!! I hope this means that Gary can "DELEGATE" to other people & spend more time at home!

Dependable me is here. At least a couple others posted so I don't have to talk to myself.

No headache for Jerry yesterday. It was nice. He was actually able to get a bunch of stuff done outside. He is fighting one today though.

Went to friends last night. Got home at 2:30 this morning. Kaleigh was up at 7:30AM because of thunder. We had a nasty windy, rainstorm for a while. The rain really came down and it was going sideways.

We have to go to Jerry's parents today. I'd love to stay home, but we have to put up the other set of drapes for his mom. Not looking forward to it at all.

Kaleigh is still using the potty most of the time. I wonder how long this will last?

Jeanne: Can your cousin come clean my living room carpet? It has been beautiful here too.

Sandy: I hope things calm down for you guys now.

It is TOO beautiful a day to waste.

DENINE: It looks like it is just you & I! My cousin can come clean your rugs but it means his son has to come & live with you! Joey is my cousin's son who has lived here on & off since High School (he is 22 now). He has been living here full time for several years. He is out back right now blowing leaves & by the time he is done the pile will be about six feet high & extend another ten feet long. It is the one job I really dislike!

I went to a Craft Fair yesterday morning & bought a new fall wreath for my front door (mine was pretty sick looking). It has shiny ceramic pumpkins with some punks & leaves. It is really beautiful! I guess it's time to take my painted pumpkins off the front step. I am thinking about painting the other side with turkeys.

I hope since there aren't many postings it mean everyone is enjoying their weekend. Whatever happened to Bonnie? Hope you all have a blessed Sunday. Toodles JEANNE

Hi guys,

It all went pretty smooth....the funeral and even dividing up things. My "step father" wanted everything out the very next day after she died so I was over there all last week. Then had my siblings over after the funeral to divide. I was very proud of my family. We have been divided since my dad died and mom's death brought us together with new found respect. We all were upset that at the service they didn't address mom's side of the family by name just her step side. BUT...at graveside the "step kids" did treat us as "her" family. Oh by the way, she was buried very close to my dad and my in laws. I really like that.

Heidi and Chris were so sweet and took us out for dinner after the funeral. Thanks Heidi. Then I heard that Stacey, Richard and the babies stayed at our house late to take us out too but the babies had had enough. My girls are so thoughtful! By the way, the best part of the funeral (if there is such a thing) was when Richard hugged me very tight and whispered " I love you, Mom". Oh my gosh. That was the coolest. He is not a very touchy feely kind of guy so when he said that it was so special.
Denine, did you ever decide on the new bed? I agree with the rest. I loved your story about her digging through the bucket. If she eats the nasty chewy stuff then that leaves all the good stuff for you and Jerry!!!! I could never bribe my kids with candy. They never liked their Easter candy, Halloween candy etc.

Jeanne, you are missed when you are away for so long. Glad you are having good weather. We are too. The mtns are getting snow every so often but we are usually nice and sunny. I am thankful for that because of mom. The flowers definitely are not were a pick me up. I smile whenever I see them. My family read the card but really didn't understand "Disney family". It is hard to explain to other people what we have here, isn't it?

Well Julie was on to tell us about Garry and now she disappeared. And Sally, and Barb and............the list goes on. Miss Bonnie. Sally sounded a little "horsey" on the phone. Wonder if she is sick.

Our friend is back in the hospital. We got her home from the nursing home on the day my mom died and she stayed at home for about a week and is now back in the hospital. They are doing tons of tests. And of course, she is being very difficult on poor Ted. He almost was going to miss the funeral but held his ground. Thank goodness as I don't think I would have been able to forgive him if he didn't attend my mom's funeral.

Today is our Armadillo brunch run. We hope we can go for some "normalcy".

Hi Everyone

Back from Oklahoma and thought I would post. We had a really good trip.
The College campus is beautiful and the students are so so nice. Tiffany had a great time and is really looking forward to attending there. While we were gone one of our dogs necks swelled up and Jaymee had to take her to the vet. The vet said something bit her and punctured something in her throat. She had to had surgery. She has a tube in one side of her neck and out the other. I feel so bad for her. She gets so upset when we are gone anyway. She has not let me out of her sight since we walked in the door. Every time we leave something happens! I am glad to be home.

Good morning all.

Barb - that is so sad about your dog, thankfully Jaymee caught it in time and brought her to the vet.

Well I made it through the funeral without having to view my grandma which I am so thankful about. I did finally have enough of the "other side" though at the cemetary. A friend of ours from the campground was waiting for another funeral and saw us and she asked who the funeral was for, someone on the "other side" said Phyllis ________ (other side's last name). I was so irritated that I corrected that person out loud and said, no it is my grandma Phyllis ________ ( her real last name). Ugh, glad it is over with. I think that made it even sadder for the people who were really related to my grandma. We were all forgotten and lumped in with the other side. It was really good to see my aunts and cousins though. I am glad they didn't gang up on my mom and that everyone is on good terms again.

The flowers were beautiful, and my grandma's favorite color was pink so the arrangement was perfect. When you look at the flowers it just reminds me of all the great memories of my grandma.

Hey, it is nice to read some posts for a change!

The flowers turned out very nice. Glad that is all over with and you guys can return to a normal life for now.

Jeanne: SO what else does your cousins son do around the house? I do have plenty of room!

Sandy: We did order the Princess toddler bed. The earliest it will arrive is tomorrow. We have not told Kaleigh yet. She is still doing really good in the potty department. I hope this keeps up. I moved the gate so Kaleigh can go potty by herself. She just needs help pulling everything up. She is just about out of gross candy and down to chocolate. For some reason, she doesn't want that.

Went to Jerry's parents house yesterday evening. We put up his mom's drapes and gave her her birthday present. It went pretty well.

GOing to Macaroni Grill for dinner. Jerry's mom gave him a couple of gift cards they can't use, but they are already losing money. They lose more tomorrow, I don't understand why they lose money if you haven't used them in a years time. You still paid for them.

Tomorrow we go vote. I made up cheat sheets today. There are a ton of issues this time. We will vote electronically for the 1st time. It will be interesting using a touch screen to vote.

Jerry's mom crocheted a really cute shawl for Kaleigh.

Sounds like someone just put in a Baby Einstein video.

DARN IT!!!! I have to go do ANOTHER drug test AGAIN. My name came up last month and now AGAIN for November. How can that be right? The same exact names all came up again. Our specialist called to see if that was correct and she said yes, it is all random. How can the same exact names randomly come up again a month later, random my right foot.

Yea, right Heidi. Random drug testing. Yea, sure. It makes absolutely NO sense that the exact same names came up again. WHATEVER! At least you know where it is now.

Denine, that is pretty cool that Kaleigh is doing good in the potty dept. You found the right incentive. I agree with you. It makes no sense why those cards lose money when you paid money for them. Dollar for dollar!! I heard that it is for bookkeeping purposes. Still doesn't make sense to me. We have to use an Armadillo one by 12-5 or we lose the whole 60.00. We vote through the mail. I love doing that. No standing in line. Perfect!! A touchscreen is pretty cool. Didn't know they have one.

Our weather is perfect in fact I am hot in a sweatshirt. Should have known better than to wear one but I am always cold.

Finally have a second to post.
Jaymee called me this morning and said Shelby was pulling at the tube in her neck and had torn the skin around it. She took her back to the vet and thankgoodness they removed it. Otherwise I would have insisted. Shelby has been crying and can't get comfortable in any position.

I have been making phone calls and trying to get things caught up. I accidently mailed my utility bill to myself by using the wrong envelope. The window part on the right showed my name instead of the left side showing theirs. I had to call them today and explain. I have been swamped at work. I am ready to go home but as soon as I get there I have more calls to make. Is life EVER simple?

The flowers are beautiful, thanks for posting them. Glad to hear things are better with your family.

I accidently mailed my utility bill to myself by using the wrong envelope. The window part on the right showed my name instead of the left side showing theirs.

Okay I know it is not funny to you but I had a chuckle with this. This is exactly something I would do!!! Hang in there, everyone tells me it's gotta get better.

Good thing being smart is not part of the criteria to have utility service or we would be in the cold and in the dark!!

I am here Heidi.......have been very busy and enjoying fall while it lasts. The leaves are falling but there is still a lot of beautiful colors....yellows,gold,rust, reds, and different shades of green. I bet the leaves are beautiful in Ohio Julie and Denine.. that is one thing about back east is the fall colors...I don't think they can be outdone.

I need to get outside today and put my little waterfall to bed for the winter....and there is a few things I can cut back, but I still have flowers in bloom...roses, clematis, snapdragons, pansies, primroses and petunias. We have had some really cold nights but they keep on living through the frosts and a few snow showers.

I shedded some papers in my file cabinet this week....that is one of the things you say you are going to do but put off but finally got around to doing.

Good Morning!

Good news! The power is still on in my house.

I finally feel my life is slowing some. I am going to try to scrap book tonight. I still have to finish Bob's Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary album for Christmas.

Crafts shows this weekend. Can't wait! I am behind in getting my Christmas decorations up. I am usually done by now but this year with the trips and everything else I have not even started. I am going to start working on them tonight.
