I am still working on the cruise! It is more fun to go with people you know. I have been thinking this is probably the last cruise we will go on with our kids. From now on it will just be Bob and I.

I am sure my mom and dad thought that too, but I just won't leave them alone!!! I guess they are stuck with me!!

Good morning Heidi, how are you...I am good.

Today is a good day, not only is it my Friday and I have a 4 day weekend, but I found out that the Commissioner approved my promotion!!!!! WOOHOO, it will be effective in 4 days!!!

To me the Labor day weekend is the beginning of fall....I know it really isn't until the 21st but it seems like it since school is started, the stores have all the winter things in and the nights are cooler. I love the fall colors and smells. We went to Bath and Body last night and they have their fall candles, soaps, etc on display. Carmel, Pumpkin and Green Apple...I really like the Green Apple smell.

It was cool yesterday morning so I made a pumkin pie and veggie soup and froze 7 quarts...then it warmed up in the afternoon and the fall magic was gone...lol.

Good for you Heidi on your promotion......you can't keep a good gal down

Yes it is......I love spring too but fall has a cozy feeling about it....a fire in the fireplace on a cool night, wrapped up in a blanket and watching the new tv shows and the whole holiday seasons before you....kids trick or treating, turkey on Thanksgiving and all the beautiful decorations of Christmas...family, friends and a New Year.

I agree!!!! Summer was my favorite season until Sally started describing fall!!!! Now I want Fall to come!!!

Don't get me wrong...I love spring, summmer and winter but there is something about fall......it is a huggie, warm relaxing time of year if you don't let Christmas stress you out. I don't, I wait until time to put everything away that I don't like.

Even shopping can be fun if you start early....I use to start in August when I had my kids at home...now I just get things when I find them from now on and my list is cut way down.....it sounds awful but I don't do grandchildren and great grandchildren....but 25 grandchildren are just too much on a fixed income....

Oh my goodness I just remembered I have not posted all day! Now Heidi is gone for the weekend. I will be working tomorrow and Monday

Hi All! Well The Big Guy's surgery went well today. I was so proud of him. They let me go into the operating room with him until he fell asleep. We have the quarter and they let us keep the xray of it. They also gave the Big Guy a teddy bear and since they knew he LOVES going to the doctors, a mask, hair net, and shoe covers for him to play doctor at home. They also let him keep the mask they used to put him to sleep. When we go home, he said he wanted macaroni , so I made him some and he had no problem eating it. Right now he is sleeping on the couch. It was a long day, but everything is A-OK! Thank goodness! Thank you all for all the well wishes for him. You guys are a great family who is always there!!! Thank you again!!!

Gonna go. My parents took the girls so the Big Guy could rest so I have to go get them. Makenzie has been soooooo worried about her brother that we had to call her at school to let her know that Garry was ok. She is such a sweetheart!

Today is Friday YAY!!!! I have about an hour and a half of overtime in because I have been stuck on calls this week. I am struggling with the decision of do I take the money or get off early today. Money... time off...Money....time off....Money....time off..........

Jaymee started dating a guy she met at the bowling alley. We have a rule in our home that Bob and I have to interview the guys my girls date. We were not able to talk to him before their first date
so Jaymee told him she would not go out with him again until he met us. Last night while she was working
he came by. He seems really nice. He is 20 like she is. He and his brother have their own business
building decks. Hummmm wonder if I can get a discount..... : )

Sally - I like Fall too but it is still way too hot here for Fall. In the low 90s today.

I had a hectic work week and didn't check home email or the Disboards very much. What a crazy week it has been. The time I did have at home I spent watching all the news about Katrina. The gas crunch hit us pretty hard. We have shortages here and the prices have gone up from $2.59 before Katrina to $3.29. I had to get up on Thursday at 5:00am to go find a station that wan't out. We're watching all of our trips in the car and not making any unnecessary ones.

Looking forward to hearing from the cruisers. I hope they all had a fantastic trip.

I miss the cruise & my companions already but at least we have the 10 day cruise in September to keep in mind. Bonnie & I booked already but Joyce was a little reluctant (needs to check with hubby). The ports of call are really exciting!

The house is still standing. My mom only fell once (& didn't get hurt).

I'll let Sandy tell you all about the cruise. All I can say is it was great but TOO short.

Missed you all but it's nice to see you kept the boards alive. Toodles JEANNE

Wonderful Cruise, Wonderful friends, Wonderful servers (I wouldn't have minded taking Silvio home to serve me...TEE HEE!) I am so bad (as Sandy would say). Jeanne was right...it was too short. I will have to play tha lottery so I can live on the ship. Didn't get to see much of Denine and Jerry though. They tried to get we old foggies out at night but we just wanted to sleep! Kaleigh is a sweetie, we got to mind her for a bit...she had 3 aunties at her beck and call. Of course she was kind enough to share her cold with me but it didn't keep me down too much. Got to see Roy the night before he left the ship.
Can't wait til Sept. 2006...although it will be on the Wonder so we can't have Silvio as our server...darn!

Everyone-please keep Pam and Buster in your prayers...they live right outside New Orleans and don't know what they are going home to.

Julie-never a dull momment at the Lauter house, Glad to hear the big guy is doing well.
