Update on Jerry's dad. Not good. They did a procedure today to try to unclog the blockage and it didn't work. They are going to have to amputate his right leg below the knee. This is SO NOT a good situation.

Denine, I'm sorry to hear about Jerry's dad. I know EXACTLY what you guys are going through, since my dad has gone through the same thing and isn't out of the woods yet. It was my dad's left foot that he had the amputatation of part of his foot. They are worried about the same leg and are thinking about the doing the same thing as Jerry's dad. Pixie Dust and prayers your way! If you need anything, PLEASE let me know!


It isn't fun getting older. Boy has this been a horrible year for all!

Sorry to hear about Sally. I sure hope the get all of the stones for her. Keep us posted Patty/Patti and Barb!

Thanks for all the pixie dust guys.....I finally got out of the hospital today about 6......waited all day for the decision of what to do with me. I went in Wed night about 6 and they did a cat scan and sent me over to the big hospital about midnight....there they did x-rays, ultra sound, blood work. They finally decided the stone is at the mouth of the bladder..you can't see it on the ultra sound except for a little sliver so the Dr decided that it should pass by itself and it didn't justify surgery and I could go home. When they were doing the ultra sound they found a gall stone...he checked the gall bladder just because it was there I guess.

My oxygen level is very low so I was on oxygen the whole time I was there and the dr thought it was because of the pain killer they gave me. The nurse told me she thought they would send oxygen home with me but the dr didn't think I needed it.

It is one in the morning and patti and family just went to bed....I think you guys are either nuts for going to the races in this heat or very devoted racing fans or both! I can't imagine sitting out in this heat all day watching cars go around and around in a circle! lol

Sandy I admire you so much for all your weight loss....just the fact you stuck with it is amazing.....I can't stick to a diet for a week....that is why I need too....

Heidi and I hope you and Patti have a ball tomorrow and take lots and lots of sunscreen.....

No more news yet. We went up to the hospital last night. The have Jerry's dad in the ICU. They were hopeful he would go back to the regular floor today. He was so miserable last night. We didn't tell him about the outcome of the surgery, though I am sure he knows by now.

Sally: I hope you stone passes soon, but at least you didn't have to have surgery.

Heidi/Patty: Enjoy the races!

Julie: So far we are managing. We are busy. I was trying to get the house clean today since we don't know what this week will bring. I hope they don't have to do the same thing with your dad.

Sandy: Let us know when you find out about Stacey.

I let you know more when I can.

More bad news. Jerry talked to his mom yesterday afternoon and found out his dad had another "silent" heart attack during the night. Now, the doctors don't know what to do. It is quited doubtful he would survive the surgery, but his leg is going to continue to get worse and he is in so much pain. We won't know more until tomorrow, I am sure. He has already had at least 2 "silent" heart attacks. He will be in ICU a few more days. We will be going to the hospital to see him later today.

I work tomorrow, so I won't be on until later in the day.

Off to work AGAIN tonight 7P-7A for bonus pay. The reason why I haven't posted is that the computer CRASHED so my son Teddy bought us a new computer

DENINE: So sorry about Jerry's Dad. Tell Jerry we are all thinking of him, you & his dad.

SANDY: Congratulations on reaching your goal! I went to Goodwill to look for some "peasant type" blouses but didn't really find anything for a wench type costume & they wanted like $5.99 plus. I think if we could find an off the shoulder blouse with a flowing skirt it would work. Finding a blouse is somewhere on my shopping list!

I miss my Bonnie . Joyce & I even invited her to Los Amigos Friday night but she never called us back.

We need lots of pixie dust to keep everyone well - no more kidney stones, no more heart attacks, no migraines, no weight gain, etc. etc.

Well off to get ready for work. Wish I could figure out how to post some pictures. Miss you all. I am just SOOOOOO happy to have back computer access. Toodles JEANNE

It is so hot today....but it does look like it could rain. We are going to a movie where there is air conditioning and popcorn of course.

I am such a happy camper....Patti, Ken, Leslie, Jason, Julie and I got everything out from under the house. I have wanted that done for so long but just couldn't do it myself. Now I have loads of stuff to go to the dump and Goodwill. The other stuff I have to go through and decide what to keep. I am trying to get things cut down as much as possible for two reasons. It makes keeping house much easier and it won't be such a mess for the kids to have to do someday. When Ken's mom died I guess it was really hard for them. Ken even fixed the screen in the door that Dick has been going to do all summer....he is such a sweetheart of a son-in-law. He was so good to his mom when she was living...he would make special trips up just to get things done around her house that she couldn't do. We really lucked out when it comes to in-laws....Bob is a sweetheart too. I don't think they have any idea how much help that was and how much I appreciated it....I told them that is what happens when your parents get old and Ken said he hoped his kids was watching and learning.....lol

Poor Dick was trying to help but he gets so out of breath that he couldn't do much. He goes in Wed to see the specialist.

Heidi, Patti said she got to meet you and you were so cute and so was your boyfriend.....how did you like the races?

I missed Big Brother last night....Criss thought is started at eight and I thought I had it on tivo but it didn't record and it started at seven. They took the dish off the roof when they shingled so I don't know if that was what was wrong or not. They put it back but they could have done something to it I guess. I heard it was the best one so far...you might know.

Ok, off to the movies and to cool off......

We are home after a hot, hot camping trip.

Denine, I am so sorry to hear about Jerry's dad. What have they decided to do? Please tell Jerry that our prayers are with his dad and your family.

Sally, I am glad that they didn't have to do surgery. I am guessing that you are not on oxygen. How are you feeling? What movie did you go to? You mentioned popcorn and my mouth watered. That is a family staple. We need our popcorn! Keep us posted on Dick. I really didn't think that Big Brother was all that great. James and his girlfriend (can't remember her name) lied to Kaysar (HOH) and said that they aren't dating. Bad move! They are all on bp&j. Maggie and James are on the chopping block.

Julie, what's up, sis? Be careful. Our heat wave is headed your way. We are now going to have a cool down. Can't wait. I can't count how many 105 days we had in a row.

Jeanne, I have been looking and looking for peasant blouses (off the shoulder type) and not have had any luck. I have tried Dillards, Kohls, Mervyns, Sears, Target, Walmart, Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Max, Dress Barn and then on top of that 3 different thrift stores. The skirt is the easy part! I miss Bonnie, too. I left two messages last weekend and also asked her to contact me on her thank you card. Nothing yet. I just feel like my hands are tied. I don't know what to do.

We had a horrendous rain storm tonight. Tons of lightening, thunder and torrential rain. The rain was actually going sideways because of the high wind. I heard that it was an isolated storm and pretty much just our area got it. Not Denver proper. Sally, Barb, how did you guys do?

All we had was a little rain....we went to see Rebound.....it was cute but then I love movies where they take the little guy and he ends up a winner.

Then went to Walmart and got groceries....I am going to bed because I was up and down all last night until 3:30 I was so hot. Then I woke up at 6:30 so it was a short night. If I can't sleep tonight I will go downstairs and work in the kitchen..

I expect Patti will be home in a little while....I told her to send me an email or call but if she forgets I will understand...they had a busy day...after working under the house and riding all day they will be really tired.

What happened to our Bonnie....call your mom!!!

I finally got to meet Patty, and her daughters!!!! I was so excited to meet them. It was hot before and after the race but during the race the clouds came through so it made the weather very tolerable. I enjoyed the races, just not the drive. The races got over at 4:15 and I didn't get home until 7:00 because of all the traffic.

Denine - thinking about you and Jerry. I hope you guys are okay and hanging in there.

I miss Bonnie too, I really hope she is alright she has me worried even more now that she hasn't returned Jeanne's call. I wish I could go check on her.

Where is Barb at? She is missing too.

Mom - not a problem, you are welcome.

I second Jeanne - PIXIE DUST to everyone. It has been a rough summer for all.

Hi everyone,

Just got back from weighing in and shopping. Jeanne, Jeanne, Jeanne, I found peasant blouses!!!! Ok, the best are at Kohls in the Junior dept. Hopefully you have a Kohls. It was 10.80, more than I wanted but hey. Also, Target had some as well in the Jr. dept., more money though. Both stores has the kind where we can drop the shoulder. I sent you an email.

More rain expected today. Looks like it could hit any time now. Tomorrow is suppose to be in the 70s or something close to it. Hopefully Sally you are cooling off too. I am just like you. I can't sleep if I am tired.

The pixie dust may finally be helping a bit. There is a slight improvement in the circulation in the leg, so they are going to hold off on the aputation for now. He may still need it, but we don't have to worry about the surgery. They transferred him to Stepdown today. Hopefully he will go home soon and we can worry about it again after we get back from vacation.

Jerry and I were bad last night. We have been under so much stress that we broke down and got into the chocolate popcorn that has been in the pantry since Christmas. We put a good dent in it. I hope it doesn't impact my weight too badly.

I just got up....I had another kidney stone attack at around ll last night....I took pain and nausea pills and even that didn't help but I decided to try to tough it out....now it seems it was a good decision as the pain has passed at least for now, but until now it seemed like a stupid decision. So after 4 vicadon pills the pain has let up..

It is cooler today...82

Still feeling the effect of the pills so I am going back and lay down..

Oh, Denine I am so glad about Jerry's dad....hopefully he will start getting better.

Sally - Get over your Kidney Stones!!!!! I hope the pain stops for you.

Only in Colorado can it be 105 degrees a few days ago and the high today is 64 degrees. It was a nice change in temp and we had a very nice rain all night last night. Hoping that helps the grass and trees out.
