okay I am feeling so much better tonight--last week I was told that when I come back from vacation I will be part time instead of full time - losing over half of my salary -- they think it will only be temporary-- bad timing before vacation and the holidays-- so today I went to see my old boss (just a part time job as a waitress that I had when my daughter was still in school, he said no problem come in when you get back from vacation and start back to work-- what a relief --- now I can enjoy my vacation. Okay so everything on the spare bed and tomorrow night in the suitcase and do the last minute things on our list and finish our door decorations. Leave after work on Thursday, Wednesday night pack the car and pay bills that need to be paid while on vacation.

even though I have everything out, I will change somethings tomorrow probably add more not sure of the weather after the cruise while we are in MK and Epoct.

I was searching my box of cruise mementos to find our waterproof id holders and guess what I found? A Disney Cruise Line coloring book from 2005! We bought it onboard on our first cruise and meant to give it to DD to enjoy on the train home. I guess we forgot to give it to her. LOL.

Sounds like something Clark Grizwold did in Christmas vacation and something I might do. (Oh I have)

Is she now too old to enjoy it?

See, I *THINK* I want to seize the opportunity to wear sundresses and the like because it is rarely warm enough to do so here in the Bay Area. But then, I have to have a back-up plan in case I get on the ship and start feeling like shorts and flip flops, too. That is why I need to bring my entire wardrobe. It is impossible to determine what my mood will be like. This is why I hate to pack.

The other night, I had a packing nightmare. Can you believe that there is such a thing? I was being buried in clothes! Too funny. <--What a head case!

Oh Ann... you are not alone. I see all this talk of Sun Dresses and realized I have a couple that I haven't worn in a while and I went to find them. Duh.. If I don't wear them here in AZ, what makes me think I would wear them there. Back in the closet. I never know if I will be in a Dress, Skirt, Shorts or Capri mood. Tomorrow night is going to be crazy....

Well I am planning on six pairs. Shhh.. Don't tell DH. Not sure how he gets by with 3 pairs.

I'm at 6 also! I hate to pack that many, but do need all of them!!

Didn't get much done tonight - too busy watching the Phillies game! I got sucked into it tonight. Did manage to pay bills - picture day at the kids school tomorrow so got stuff ready for that. Went to Target today at lunch, so I "think" I have everything I need! We'll see once I start putting it all together!

Just checked my reservation & that one is still booked for us @8:15. That is weird they didn't contact you to give you the chance to pick something else. Good thing you checked on-line!

Ok as crazy as this sounds - we decided tonight to do this cruise. I am going to be finishing my book while on board and bringing my author assistant, and my 2 chidren ages 14 (DD) and 12 (DS). I will be booking in the morning and we will fly into Orlando on Friday afternoon and stay at the Hyatt (I think)

Now I know this is last moment but if there is anything I can participate in I would love to - I would like to do FE and will have one for each of us up and I will bring things for everyone else but I know this late in the game everyone is done preparing things - I just happen to have a stash of stuff for the TA cruise that I will swap out

Can I get a number of staterooms participating? Thanks!

We are having a group meet at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge on Sat. Would love to see you there! Our FE cutoff was Sept 1, but hey, if you want to participate by just giving, then who am I to stop you? Laura is coordinating though, so I'll let her comment.
The last FE list was posted earlier in this thread and she's planning on handing off an updated list with room #s at the 3pm meet... last count was 13 rooms participating, which includes 45 cruisers, 19 of which are kids...

Thanks! I knew before posting that I was past the cut off but my kids love to go around and give things and I will just fill their FE with gifts each day - they will not know it is from me I have some fun little things to bring from my stash to bring - one question - where can I get the picture file for the cruise logo for this cruise? I would like to make us a lanyard with it like we have had on other cruises. The person coming with me has never been on a Disney cruise before but this is my 4th cruise.

Well I did it. I am all packed except for some tolitries and such. Don't think I will be at the meet as I think I will be getting to the port at around 2:00. Got to eat really quick and get back to change for my hot tub time right after the saftey drill. Still I will be at Match your Mate that night in Rockin Bar D. I will be at the bar.

I am a sundress/skirt person but they are form fitting and I know after 2 days of eating and drinking they will be uncomfortable so I am only bringing 2 sundresses. DD and I can share shoes so my 15 is really 7.5 each

I thought some of us would be able to share suitcases but seems we all need our own I can't remember if I have to pay for each suitcase with Delta

Just have to pack toiltries and meds and FE stuff. Everyone will wear/carry their hoodie or sweater. I am not packing any kind of rain gear.

I do not fly well and am starting to get anxious. I have to drop my dog at my older DD's house and bring my foster baby to her vacation home all Thursday night. We have to wake around 3am to catch our 7am flight friday morning and I wanted to have everyone in bed by 8pm

Debbie - I think Southwest (Alan's airline) is the only one that doesn't charge for bags any more. But all will charge big $$$$ if they are over 50lbs, so it is better to have 1 checked bag for person and pay the $15/bag, than trying to fit alot into one bag and get tot he airport to find out it is over 50 lbs and they charge you $50 on top of the $15 fee

I realized that our nice rolling bags add 10 lbs to the start, so I switch to a duffle.

my dh and I were really surprised last night to see that we have to pay for any checked luggage. I guess canadian companies haven't caught up to this trend, because I have never paid for a checked suitcase, with Air Canada you can even check 2 suitcases PER PERSON free!

Oh well, we are flying with Continental on our flight to Orlando, and with United on our way back, so I guess we'll pay!

Sue - Monica talked me out of a lot of Sweaters. oh course going from 90 degrees heat to 80/70 degree heat may make me regret that .

But I am bring a lightweight wrap for the dressier nights and then a light weight cotton sweater cardigan. Looking at the tempatures on weather.com, it appears the lows will be in the 70's most of the time.

I just finished laminating all our door magnets. The kids need to cut them out today when I get home from work. Work today, 1/2 day work tomorrow then on the plane at 5!

I am all packed except for odds and ends. We ended up with one bag per person plus a fifth bag for all the snorkel gear. If I remember correctly I only got four bag tags. Does that mean I need to carry the fifth bag on?

jet blue allows one free checked bag per customer, $30 for second and $75 for a third i think it is BS they charge so much or at all....you are already paying to fly on them!! just sayin.........

What is the cruise logo? I think I missed that. Could I get one PM'ed to me as well? I am going to get a few things laminated tomorrow.

Okay now I am a little worried about the weather on our trip. I checked out Weather.com and looked at our ports and it looks like each one is calling for rain. I don't think I want to pack the kids big rain coats. Are there some small rain ponchos to buy somewhere? On the ship or in a port? I have never been to the Caribbean so I am not familiar with their weather.

I am bringing a fine gauge white 3/4 quarter sleeve cardigan and a cropped, fitted jean jacket. I would assume that will be plenty.

You guys with 6 pairs of shoes are making me feel better because that is how many I need, too. (Notice I did not say WANT, I said NEED.)
