October 17, 2009 Western

I will have our cruise paid by sat before 9 P.M. so I can book Palo tea on Monday and Brunch on Thursday. .

I'm thinking...
Palo dinner - Monday
Palo brunch - Thursday

I haven't even looked at any of DCL's excursions yet. I still have a little bit of time left though, right? ;)

Hey, that looks exactly like my plan... :lmao:

here are our plans, we booked at 105 days,

we booked palo diner on day 4 (tuesday)
palo brunch and palo tea on day 6 (thursday)

key west we are just going to walk around on our own, bring our own gps and plan ahead where the interesting things are.

grand cayman we are doing the Stingray City Reef Sail & Snorkel

cozumel we are doing scuba diving.

Anne-Karine

So my orignal thoughs are to book
Palo's Brunch on Monday (day 3) or Thrus ( Day 6)
Palo's Dinner on Sunday (day 2) or Wed (Day 4)
Still deciding on the tea

Excursion... The only thing I know that fills up quickly are the dolphin ones and the Stringray ones and the cooking one in Mexico... So what I plan to book

GC - Boatswains
COZ - Dolphinares - 10am
CC - Stingrays - 9am

I guess I will see some of you online early morning on the 19th!!! :surfweb:

Sounds like many of us have similar plans for Palo!

We plan to book Palo dinner on Monday, and Palo brunch on Thursday.

For excursions:

Key West - we'll be on our own (walking around and taste testing key lime pie!)
Cayman - plan to book the Pirate Encounter at 9:15, then hang out on Seven Mile Beach
Cozumel - already booked the Dolphin swim at noon at Chankanaab, booked directly for a huge cost savings

Thirteen hours to go until booking!

Angie,

I don't mind telling people that I am going to have a tummy tuck. I am not like crazy overweight (just gotten chubby over the years) but I developed this extra portion around the middle that really gets in my way and makes me mad. I have a personal trainer (haven't seen him in a bit because of school schedule) but we can't make that go away, so I'm cutting it off! I could wear 1 or 2 sizes smaller when this goes away! It's the fitting around the middle... I don't like not being able to button stuff! I am a 12/14 now. Hoping for a nice flat 10 or less after swelling dissapates. Because I work in the jail I have to take more time off and I may end up on some light duty after (depending on recovery and the risk of injury at work)... jails are not very nice places usually. So I will be home enjoying some summer weather and hanging with the laptop. :wizard:

Thanks for the thoughts of a speedy recovery... I am very scared as I have only had one other surgery prior at age 19 and it was nothing like this! Hope I am not a total wus...

mmmmm.... kilts. There you guys go again.
Just so you all know...
I'm having surgery on the 27th. I might not feel like sitting here (maybe on the laptop in the bed) but look for lots more posts from me as I will be home for 3 weeks! I hope I don't drive everyone nuts! I will be talking about all kinds of off the wall stuff, I'm sure! :rotfl:

Best wishes on your surgery going well! I hope you recuperate quickly.

I can't wait to book, but I guess I need to figure out exactly what I want...

I think Hubby and I are going to try for Palo dinner on Thurs night

Key West - on our own, take the trolley, Stop at Shipwreck historeum, key lime pie, and butterfly conservatory.
GC - we are also booking boatswain
Coz - would like to do the Dolphin excursion at Chakunaab - how do you know what times they are offered? ...and having a little trouble because my mom can't swim and she is worried about the push, pull, thing.
CC - hang out and relax!

I would like to do a Palo brunch at some point. I don't expect to be able to book this until we get on the ship and I am not too particular about what day/time I can get.

I think I am going to skip Palo dinner (although it is tough after seeing those pictures of the chocolate souffle) because as a first-timer, I want to try all the meals in the regular dining room.

Key West - running around on our own: Southernmost point, Hemingway House, Key Lime Pie(?)

Grand Cayman - booked "Rays, Reef, and Rum Point" excursion through Nativeways

Cozumel - this will depend on availability. My husband is interested in dolphins, so I will try to book something through DCL for that. If not available, I am thinking maybe Xcaret Archealogical Park.

Castaway Cay - Cookies lunch, snorkeling, relaxing on the beach:thumbsup2

Hey Marci - That is what we are going to do as well at Key West. Will be great to have some company on Boatswain as well. This is getting exciting!!!!

Kim - Are the fires in california anywhere near you? I think I saw they were Near the American River I know how fast those wild fires can travel with all the dry grass.

Laura

So, could everyone else just wait till about 12:15 on 7/19 to book, so I can get the times I want for Palo? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Seriously, it looks like almost all of us have the same Palo plan in mind - I'll have to come up with a quick backup plan. As far as excursions, here is the plan:

Key West - one Snuba, five just wandering aimlessly
Grand Cayman - Atlantis Submarine for three; GC Island Tour for three
Cozumel - four of us on our own to Mr Sanchos, and two on the Cozumel Ruins & Beach Tour
Castaway Cay - one cabana massage, nothing for anyone else

You guys are going to be busy on Sunday.. BEST OF LUCK..!! :) The internet is going to be busy then, I can tell :cool1:

THIRTEEN HOURS... am I missing something? I thought it was more like 36 hours until book.

I thought it was 12:01AM on July 19th (SUNDAY). Am I wrong?

According to the paperwork sent by Disney and the handy little "Days until" app for my phone you are correct.

Penny,

I would love to discuss your surgery with you especially after you have it done --I have lost alot of weight and therefore I hanging skin and have been afraid of the surgery-- hope all goes well and enjoy your time at home.. Let me know how you are doing. You are going to look great in your bathsuit.

Sorry, everyone. Booking at 90 days doesn't begin until July 19, which is midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I got overly excited and skipped a day!

Whew... you had me scared. I am all prepared for staying up late tomorrow and not tonight. Plannning on a nap tomorrow, since I get up at 4:30am on Saturdays to do a 8 mile walk in the canyon

Penny - Wishing you speedy recovery!! Will be thinking of you on the 27th. At least you can type and be communicating with us. Besides maybe between you and I, we can beat Monica's score on bouncing balls on FB. :sad2: Her low score still beats my high score. :headache:

Laura

PS... I am enjoying "skinny dip" so you might like that as a post surgical reading option.

Penny, do you like Scrabble? If so, there's a website that's all scrabble that I like to visit. I'll play Scrabble with you while you're recovering if you like the game. The website is www.isc.ro . You download wordbiz .

I've yet to figure out what night for Palo. Like the rest of you, I prefer Thursdday for brunch, but we'll see. Since we'll probably be visiting with my in-laws Saturday, I don't know if I'll get to the computer in time to book brunch.

I would be very happy to have Laura or any of you beat my high score on Bouncy Ball. Then I would have a new goal toward which to work. ;)

Quick update on Fish Extenders... Currently there are 9 Rooms (DISers) participating in FE with a total of 31 people (11 of those kids).

I will be posting the latest speadsheet in the yahoogroup for those who are interested.

I have never played bouncy ball, but I have heard several people play it. Have to give it a try! I can't get my laptop to connect to my wireless for some reason. It's like they are in a crowded room together and are waving at each other, but can't get close enough to shake hands!! I see my connection, but can't get it. Weird. Bad time for me to send the IT ex-boyfriend packing!!

I was never very good at Scrabble, but I was much younger then. I suspect I would be better now...maybe. I'll give that a try, too.

I appreciate all the well wishes on my impending surgery. I won't lie, I am a big chicken. My friend had it done and I was amazed at how much she was up moving around. I had to take her to run errands she "had" to do 4 days post op. She however tells me how MISERABLE it was and how much pain there was. Of course, that probably has something to do with not taking her pain meds until 7 hours instead of 4, and running errands when she was supposed to be in bed, recovering!! I am not crazy about having this huge scar across me, but I do know that my scars fade well given time. I'm hoping to not wake up in pain. My wonderful Mommy will be staying 2 days with me emptying my drains. Let me just say... ICK.

Sorry about being off topic. Let's get back at it!! I can't wait to stay up tonight and make ressies!! :yay: It means that we are getting that much closer and I really need this trip! I am so excited to meet everyone and make new friends, as well as see my friends and family (well, ex-relations who I still claim! Ha) meeting my ex-nephew for the first time (he's 4! How cute!) and spending time with a BFF and sharing a cruise with her! After we are under the 90 days, we will be zooming!!
