Were on the 10/17/09 Western Caribbean too! Booked last spring, although time has gone slow, it's now already Jan and we have only 9mos to go!!
It will be our 1st cruise and we are so excited! We'll be celebrating my husband's 40th and our 9 yr anniversary. Along for the ride will be our DD who will be 5 and DS who will be 3.
Looks like the best of both worlds, lots of fun Disney activities for the kids (and us) and alone time for my husband and I!!!

) and procedures to learn. I've found my niche, and they tell me I am a huge help. I can see where things are running a little smoother since I've been there. Desks are cleaner, and piles are smaller. There is a small maintenance crew of 6, but I mainly work with the manager and her assistant. I'm the assistant's assistant (remember, government). I have lovingly nicknamed my self the double a$$
The girls are great, a real pleasure to work with. There is great teamwork, and real honesty. I've conquered a small project, and am delving into a larger one now. I have had a little contact with some of the residents. (back up, I think I mentioned that the job is with public housing?) No one had been offensive at all, a few have been seemingly appreciative. Only one incident thus far. A domestic dispute made it's way into our office. Kind of sad to see, but all ended peacefully. The hours are working out great with DS's schedule. I go in after dropping him off at school, and have about an hour and a half after work before I need to pick him up. They also have told me they're very flexible with scheduling, should I need something. Hopefully, it continues to be a positive experience. It's never a good time when you don't enjoy your work. And you can't beat all these holidays
Just let me know if you'd like my help! We made our FE last year and will be helping my parents make theirs. It was so much fun!
Be right back, I'm going to add you all to the growing list we're keeping on the first post of this thread. If you want to add any more information than what's already posted, let me know!
OOOH, St. Croix. That sounds great right now!
I really didn't want the responsibility. I do not pride myself for organization. I did research it a little on the boards. It sure does sound fun. I'll definitely be active with ideas and decisions when it's time, but I'll gladly let you, (or anyone else who may want to) run the show.
comes sooner and this severe cold winter comes to an end. I wouldn't mind the cold if we'd get some snow!
What have I been up to. Well, DS just had his first ever report (2nd grade). We did Thomas Edison. Lesson learned. Next time, we're doing the timeline or other graphic project first, to get him interested. Like pulling teeth to get it written. Minimum of 2 paragraphs. Paragraphs are 5-8 sentences. So, we had (you guessed it) 10 sentences total in his report. Couldn't talk him into more. So, we did that. Our town is trying to pass a tax levy, and I have been calling residents urging them to vote. If we pass it, we get 19.2 million dollars in grant form from a tobacco settlement. That pays for 46% of our project. It failed in November by less than 40 votes. Keep your fingers crossed. Tomorrow, we have a party to attend for our nephew. His 19th birthday was Wednesday, and he is moving to Tennessee next week. I know he won't miss this snow cr*p here in Ohio. DH's aunt and uncle leave next Thursday, sailing Friday on NCL jewel 9 day southern route. Boy, I wish we were going. Just over $700, but can't take the time with the new job, or I'd be there. Really want to go Southern. Someday
