Is anyone else going to Chankanaab Park in Cozumel? That's really the only excursion we are doing on the cruise. We're planning to spend a good bit of the day there and do the Dolphin Encounter. It's going to be a surprise for the kids. They think we're going there to snorkel and play on the beach.

Hi all,

When I read about everyone's getting docs, I checked UPS site to see where mine is now. I saw the delivering address to be the old one, and I freaked out. I thought I was all good because I changed to new address online.

I called UPS if they can ship it to a new address, but for security reason it is a NO. They say it will be possible if DCL called to change it for me. So, I called DCL to see if they can do it, and my 3 choices were;

1. Since I complete online check-in, I can just go to the port and pick up tags there.
2. Wait until the docs to be returned back to DCL, and they can re-shipped with all the cost paid by me.
3. They can re-issue tags and ship it again with $50 fee.

They also said I should just go and check the old address since UPS often leave packages without signatures at the door. But it is 1 hour away, and I don't want to drive not knowing if the package is there or not.

I was really really feeling bad after all those years I planned for this and seems nobody is trying to help. DCL says it is my fault because I asked them all the docs to be sent to the old address.

Well, I just checked UPS site now and it said delivery attempt failed and they will re-deliver on Monday. I called them and told me I could pick it up at UPS facility! It's still 1 hour away, but at least I know there is a documents waiting for me. I will go there on Monday morning after I drop off my kid to school.

Another bummer is, I ordered some FE gifts from overseas and it was wrong item. I called them and said I need to return it back so they can exchange it at the same time. I went to Post office first thing in the morning, hoping I will get items on time.

Sorry for this long post. I just had to let it out somewhere since I was going nuts today. What's wrong with me???
It's been a bad day, but thank goodness I just got my beautiful FE made for me on Ebay. That made me feel so much better!

Got my Docs today. Funny thing is I have a midship room and my tags say F. Maybe they only do f and a.

Our Docs have arrived!!!

7pm at night and we found them outside on the doorstep, probably arrived between 5 -6pm. I have to admit the the excitment kind of died down when I saw there wasn't much in there to get excited about except the luggage tags.


Marinecruiser - I am so sorry the run around on the docs. I have heard of this happening to others, even though you change your address it does not get into Disney's system. Hopefully you can get them on Monday.

I was hoping to pick up a few FE items for the kids at a Disney Warehouse on my way home yesterday, only to get to the location and find the store was no longer there It's now a Halloween Superstore...

While we're still on the subject, I'll tell you why I appreciate all kinds of FE gifts. Last year, as most of you know, dh and I cruised without our kids. They made the trip to Florida with us, but we dropped them off at my mother's on the west coast of Florida. We were supposed to take the Auto Train, but due to flooding on the train route, our southbound train was canceled. The kids were a little bummed but knowing we would be on the Auto Train for the return trip, they didn't dwell on it.

By the end of the cruise, our FE booty included a handmade necklace, a picture frame, a mini-scrapbook, little bottles of pampering products, a practical cruise emergency kit, personalized door magnets and gifts and several other clever and/or handmade presents. Also, in the stash were stickers, lollipops, temporary tattoos, and two hefty little party bag full of candy and cheap toys. We intended to give the stickers, tattoos and party bags to the children once we got home. I combined the "kid stash"

While I appreciated and put to good use the special handmade crafts and non-edible gifts, it was the bag of candy and toys that had immediate practical use when a mini disaster struck us on departure day. To make a long story short, we arrived ten minutes too late to board the Auto Train for our homebound journey. Needless to say, we were all disappointed. Before even one bitter tear could spring from one of our children's eyes, I told them I had a special surprise for them that would make them glad we had to drive instead of ride. Right there in the Amtrak parking lot, I located the bulging bag of FE goodies and told them they could divvy up all the candy between themselves and eat as much as they wanted on the ride home.

About the FE...i was able to print out the spreadsheet with all the names of the people that are doing it.... my question, but I am sure this has been explained before is......do you do a gift per room per person a day, which seems like alot to me or iis it one gift per room per cruise???

Hi.. It is what every you want to do. But 1 gift/room per Cruise is the norm. You are right, one per room per day is way TOO MUCH. Don't stress over FE gifts. We are doing just one visit per room to deliver FE gifts during the cruise.

Well, I just found out that my traveling companions got some pixie dust! I had been under the impression that they were going to be in the room next door to me and my BFF. They had tried to go C12 gty, but were told initally that there were none left. Apparently, my SIL had asked them to keep trying, since it was about a $500 dif in price from 12 to 11. At some point they must have found them something, because they have a cat 10! I'm sad that they will be down on deck 2 so far from me, but excited that pixie dust came their way on their first cruise!! I really am ready to go... I wonder if anyone would notice if I went ahead and left to go down there. I could just hang gout on the beach and watch the ships go by until our turn came. I wonder if my job would miss me...

You know, I am starting to realize I am a strange individual. If I got that type of a upgrade, I would call DCL and ask for my orginal room back. There is a reason I book deck 7. I would not want to be on deck 2. If the moved me and at least did not call and ask me if I wanted the move, I would be very upset.

Well, I'm upset. I posted a thread on the main DCL page hoping for help. I looked up the room review for my SIL's room. It is HORRIBLE! To be fair.. it is old.. from 2005. There are no reviews for the surrounding rooms. It could be that there was just a mintenance problem at that time. I don't know what to do... They claimed they understood that GTY meant that they could be placed anywhere, but I don't think they realized it could come at a price... I have one more website to check for a room review. I just don't know if I should tell them. SIL is worried trip won't live up to the hype! HELP ME FELLOW CRUISERS!!!

Penny - I checked your other post, we are directly across the hall from your travel mates and our room report was from 2/09 and was very positive and mentioned that it was very quiet. Maybe since drydock things have improved and maybe it is just one picky travel. Not sure if something would be different between a Inside and outside with mechanical noise, but hopefully this helps.

I'm thinking that they weren't picky cruisers. It even stated that the ships' engineer came to the room and said it was too loud. However, after going to my post in the main forum, I agree with everyone that the issue was probably resolved long ago, or it could even be something they never notice, or accept as it does not diminish from their cruise experience. I just want everything to be perfect for them... I think I need to try to relax a bit!!

? How was your weekends??

We had a birthday party, and some groceries and just various bits and bobs to deal with on an otherwise great weekend. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL in Aberdeen. not something I can say very often.. .

My weekend could be better or could be worse. It started off well. Friday night, we attended a social with the other families whose children are in my son's homeschool Debate/Civics class. Good pizza! Interesting lesson on inductive logic. Saturday, things turned for the worse, though. I had planned to spend the daytime working outside weeding, raking and mulching and spend the evening inside canning applesauce with my daughter. That plan went down the tubes about 11am when I went out to the chicken coop and was stung by a bee. I am allergic to bees. Fortunately, I was not stung by the kind of bee that makes me break out in hives and requires an epi-pen injection and a fast trip to the ER. Nevertheless, my foot swelled up so big I couldn't walk or even wiggle my toes. I took a big dose of Benydril but it didn't help the swelling. It just knocked me out and I wound up sleeping most of the afternoon. We did get the apple sauce made and canned, and Dh kindly cooked dinner in my place. Not such a bad Saturday afterall. Today, though, I'm really bummed out. The swelling is just as bad today as yesterday, so I couldn't go to the county fair with the rest of the family. I love going to the county fair.
