DCL is very strict on the age restriction and unfortunately, children do have to be at least 8. By any chance, are you flying into Orlando early or staying in the area after the cruise? We've decided to take the kids parasailing on Bay Lake at WDW before the cruise. The dock is right there at the Contemporary and they only require children to be 6!

Don't think we will be doing Disney before the cruise, but who knows. We just got a pin code for free dining from Oct - December. Was really hoping for a Pin for 40% off.

My husand and I are both big fans of Disney...not sure who is bigger fan.....

Has anyone gotten/made their FE's yet? I would love to see! I am making mine, but have not started yet.......

No FE for me yet, but would love to see what everyone has. (Might help me recognize them for when the gift giving starts). So I assume that you are in for the FE? I will put you down as a yes, Bourgie.

I don't sew much, so this is assembled with stitch witch. It was supposed to be fancier but I ran out of time.

What is a Stitch Witch? I found a no sew pattern online, that I plan to try. Only calls for 2 yards of fabric and Iron-on interfacing, Heat and bond, so I assume if I can just line things up and cut and iron, I am good to go. My plan is to go to Handcock fabric this week to find some fabric. I have 3 months to get it done, right?

On a whim I checked the DCL site today and my reservation had a stateroom listed! It is for 6606...anyone stayed in that before? Hoping it will be a good one.

Been so busy with the kids for the last couple of weeks that I haven;t been on here much and haven't really been thinking about the trip at all. Seeing the room number re-excited me!

Wow! Love the start of seeing the Fish extenders... I understand we are 4 families signed up - is that right? Anymore??

since we're in the middle of moving, no FE yet for us -- but I'll probably make something .. Can't wait to know the final numbers of 'receivers' so I'll know how many goodies to get!!

So with me and Bourgie and Monica that makes 7 families with FE or planning.

So this weekend I was reading the previous posts on this thread and Shannon inidicated she wouldn't mind pulling together the FE. I sent her a PM to see if she wanted to spreadsheet to continue with it. I'll post a new spreadsheet later this week on Yahoo Not a lot of changes, excpet Jennifer's room assignment

How much of your vacation (Cruise or otherwise) is about taking photos of the things you do??

For me, it's about the photos (scrapbooker here!) and I like my camera very much .. I love snapping the places but mostly snap my own family.. I probably took a thousand photos the last cruise.. but probably not too many this time - I don't think but you never know.. ..

I love to think I can get that perfect picture, so we always have our camera with us. We also bought a digital camera from Costco that can go underwater. (It was not that expensive). I hope with this cruise I can create a digital scrapbook for the cruise vacation. I use www.picaboo.com, for my scrapbook.

Wish I was a scrapbooker, but I have all the stuff and never get finished with a project. But with picaboo, I was able to complete 4 different books.

Hi all, haven't posted in awhile, so far it has been a busy summer.

Jenn - On our last cruise, we were in rooms 6600 and 6602. We loved the location, just upstairs and you are at the mickey pool. Also, not to far from the laundry room. This time we are at the front of the boat. We had smokers in the cabin right in front of us, and we got all the cigarette smoke, and unfortunately I get really bad nose bleeds if I breathe in too much smoke. I figure if we have the first staterooms, then nobody in front of us can smoke.....lets just hope I don't get sea sick.



Also, I finally finished the digital scrapbook of our last cruise (that was 2 years ago ). I made up a website on shutterfly if anyone wants to take a look at it. Go to http://proptrash.shutterfly.com/ scroll down a little to you see photobooks, and the click on view photobook.

I am still undecided on the FE thing. I am just not sure I can get it together in the next 3 months.

Until now I have been noncommittal about the FE exchange. I apologize for that. I still am not sure. Probably. Do we have a sign-up deadline? Any thoughts on how many people before we subdivide? On our last cruise we had 10 families (mostly couples, though) and that was easy to do. Probably, 14 families would have been manageable. I've read about groups so much bigger. I don't think we could manage that.


The picture question - we're not so diligent about taking pictures and worse about getting them printed.


Stitch Witch is the same thing as fuse tape.

I agree we'll need to keep numbers low with a sign-up deadline for the FEs.... I also love all your digi scrapbook ideas.. I use blurb.com and love the flexibility of the blurb books.. I am a scrapbooker and I do loads of stuff with paper and crafting.. not sure what I'll do for fish extender goodies though.. we'll see...!!!

So excited..105 days just around the corner..

In the meantime, I'm waiting to finish up this relocation business...moving is so much fun !!

Marci - I love it. Did you use Shutterfly program to make the book? How long did it take you to make it? When I made my DD life book, I spent about 8 months of time working on it with www.Picaboo.com and that doesn't have as many options then as what looks like your program you used.

Monica - I was thinking that Sept 1 should be the cut off for FE. Unless you and the group think it needs to be earlier. This gives enough time to see how many families are involved and to coordinate surprise and if necessary to split the group up to be managible. Just taking a quick glance at the spreadsheets, most of those signed up for FE or have said on the list that they are creating a FE, have a family of at least 1 kid.

At this time the Cut Off for FE Signup will be September 1. (unless the group decides on a different date) This will give a month time for those participating to plan.

Hi guys! Thought I would post something, since it has been awhile! I'm on vacation here at the house trying to do some late spring cleaning and squeeze in some relaxation time, too. I got a call yesterday that said I was transferred to another job at work and then they want to change my days off (which include part of this time I am off right now!) They are freaking out that I am going to have some surgery on July 27th. I think to myself... "That's what you get for transfering a perfectly happy officer!" So, they upset me while I'm on vacation supposed to be enjoying myself... Those days also affect my time off for the cruise and my surgery date. OK It's oficial... I am angry with my job!!

Thje reason for this rant (apologies) is to say that it makes me even more greatful for my cruise and that I am really going to be needing it when it finally gets here and I will meet you all somewhere and have a large... ok, maybe and extra large drink!!

I also made my first t-shirt last night... that was interesting... I hope the image stays! I had paper that wouldn't come off, but it finally did after I washed it 2 more times! Hit me up with some happy news guys... I could use some!

Penny.. Sorry that your work did that to you. I am amazed , as a manager,that they would even call you on vacation. We do everything not to disrupt someones vacation, but then again we wouldn't want you to hear about it from someone else.

Maybe more now than ever, Wendy should be looking for the Scottish boyfriend for you to bring on the cruise. (Sorry I hope that was you requesting him). Of course Sue (missusem) will be in Scotland by the time we get on the cruise, so she might be able to bring one along for you.

Just think in just a short timespan you can be making your reservations.

I am Jealous, I would love to do that because the cost is very resonable, except for the oneway air back from Europe.

I am hoping to book something on the ship to get the discounts there. We will have to see how DD7 does on this cruise. It will be her first time on a ship.

If it would seem normal, than my sheriff's office wouldn't do it... i was transfered one time while I was on Funeral Leave. Went to my Grandfather's funeral, came home to find a message asking me about my days off... How nice!

Now more than ever I could use a Scottish Boyfriend!
My long term relationship that had been on life support for so long finally flatlined the same day as the transfer at work! WHAT A GREAT WEEK!!!

Counting down the days til Palo ressies!! I REALLY want to do the brunch!! I NEVER get one in time!!

The Wonder is repositioning to Los Angeles sometime in 2011, hence another Panama Canal cruise should be in the works. The return airfare from Barcelona to JFK is only about $500, and then I'll just take Southwest to Orlando for about $100.
