October 16th, 2022 - 5-Night Halloween on the High Seas Cruise from New York (Bermuda)

Wife and I had free tickets to the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum which is located on the same pier as the cruise terminals. So we wanted to take a practice run on the Port Imperial Weehawken ferry today, and head over at the same time we would be for the cruise in (OMG!) 3 weeks! That is definitely the way to go. It was so easy to park, get tickets at the self service kiosk (or the app they have now but costs $1 more per ticket) and board. There were a handful of people on board the ferry dragging suitcases, and we saw an NCL ship docked being cleaned, and folks were waving off the top at us on top of the Intrepid once they started boarding later on. Plenty of available parking in both garages, but garage 1 (which is closer to the ferry) is $2 more a day. It was so easy, I can not wait to do ride the ferry again on the 16th!!

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the test run update. DH and I wanted to take one since it has been a while since our last run thru but we haven’t had the time to so this is quite helpful. What time did you catch the ferry over to the pier?

Hi All,

We just booked this cruise and we are super excited! It is my son's first Disney Cruise and was hoping to join the Fish Extender list as it was my girls favorite part of the cruise. Is it still possible to join?

Thanks,
Shelley

We ended up arriving about 5 minutes too late to hit the 10:40a ferry like we wanted to, but the 11a ferry was right on time, and we disembarked in Midtown at exactly 11:08! On Sundays they only run 1 boat on rotation so it runs every 20 minutes. The walk from the boat is approximately 15 minutes at an easy pace so we plan on hopping the 10:20 ferry, then meandering a bit during the walk over. The biggest hassle with the pier was all the joggers. TONS of joggers lol, it’s like hey slow down get on a boat!

I do have a Pixie Dust Fish Extender List open for those who decide to join late. It is a list that gives everyone the opportunity to decide if they wish to add additional people to their exchange and for those within the Pixie Dust list to exchange with each other.

I’ll add you as someone additional that I will give a gift to if you like, just provide the information below so I can put you on the Pixie Dust List and so I know where I am delivering to.

Please post the following to participate in the Pixie Dust Fish Exchange -
DISer name
Stateroom # (TBD - if you don’t have a # yet)
List stateroom guests (Kids ages time of cruise)
List favorite interests or characters (Optional)

What will I need to register with Safe Passage? I believe we can sign-on this Saturday.

Yes you can start your Bermuda Authorization paperwork now if you would like. From reports I heard you will receive a confirmation reply and then later receive an email if you have been approved or not and link to submit your test results. We also plan to do CVS pharmacy for our testing too. Tests can be done on Friday or Saturday before our sailing.
(I am sailing on the Mariner if the Seas, leaving FL on Oct 16 and arriving in Bermuda the same day as the Magic. We’ll be docked together.)

From the Bermuda government website and email and other cruisers, here are test instructions:

So, yes, a pharmacy test up to 4 days ahead of boarding day (which should be enough time for results) is also acceptable. Two (days) for supervised antigen.

And you are bringing your test results with you for boarding - only upload them if instructed to do so in your Authorisation email.

Don’t expect the approval email any earlier than 7-10 days before cruise.

Some cruisers have had to be processed on boarding. It’s not a perfect system.

No luggage tags in the mail today for us. We haven’t been assigned our GTY stateroom yet so hopefully we will get one next week and then they will mail out our luggage tags. :goodvibes

That all looks correct, thanks again!

Too early to start packing? 😂
I saw a great YouTube video on packing for a Disney Cruise. Lady said,”take out everything you want to pack, all your clothes, toiletries, and what have yous, then immediately put half of all of it back!” Hehe.
Can not wait!

I usually start officially packing 2 weeks before but I do keep what I call a dump bag usually a backpack or small suitcase depending on the trip where I will throw items in I find or think of that I want to bring with me and don’t want to forget.
