I am so upset I am booked Oct 16th-21st, we can't change our dates because we have tickets to the halloween parade on the 18th, this is not fair to the people who book in advance, I would have booked a week later if I know this 2 weeks ago! They should give you a different discount if you are in the blackout dates!

I'm in the same boat Booked at POFQ 10/15-10/22, already have ADR's, requested time off at work, etc. At least I have the AAA discount.

Discounts are to entice people to travel, not to reward those that are already booked.

Same here. I am booked 10/20 through 10/29. I can tell you, I've already made alternate plans to stay at Buena Vista Suites instead of on Disney property.

I am very upset (so bad I'm having chest pains), but I'll get over it. We don't use the Disney transportation because we always rent a car, so that's not a concern. I was really hoping on FD, or at the very least a room discount, and I could not be more disgusted right now. As for EMH, I was planning on using two, and possible two more as a surprise to the kids. Right now, my plan is to switch my days for AK and DHS.

Come over to the dark side and join me in staying off property. It's still a Disney vacation; the mouse is just not taking all my money....I'm spreading it around a little.

Those are my exact same dates. I'm super bummed, but not actually all that surprised. That week has been blacked out of almost every PIN discount to date. Of course I didn't know that when I booked either. Then people got the PINs.

And now I'm getting unreasonably annoyed with the 2 people we're traveling with. We picked that week because they always do some kind of party for Halloween and refused to go the last week. Like MNSSHP wouldn't have been awesome?!?

I know it's not their fault, and I'm not REALLY angry. Just looking for something else to be annoyed with because I'm bummed.

If they did discounts on blackout dates, wouldn't every day be a discount?

The point of discounst are to entice people that haven't booked and hopefully the discount would help pull the trigger for them.

I remember this same week was not discounted last year as well. As many other posts (in other threads) have stated, it's not historically part of the bigger discounts because of many school breaks. Disney has caught on to when people are traveling.

I know it sucks not to get in on free dining, but this MAY not be the only discount for fall? Maybe they'll do a room only discount, maybe not. Over the last 2 years I have been surprised at what discounts Disney has offered & when they are released. It used to be pretty straight-forward...but now it's anyone's guess until it's announced.

I think Mouseavers keeps track of historic discounts so you could always check there to see if a certain week has had discounts in the past...you'll probably see there that this week hasn't had much luck in the discount realm.

I got an oddball pin# and some of the dates previously blacked out for discounts with pin # people were reported getting were included 10/18 -12/22.
I knew when I booked that my dates 10/19 to 10/25 would likely be in a black out period but that was a chance I took and since I already have my airline tix and there is a $100 change fee per tix I'm stuck. No FD for me

They have basically all of the deluxes including swan and dolpin booked in the EPcot area this week.
Every year during this week is gartner, hence why discounts are skipped for this week.

My dates are the same as yours. If the FD offer does come out on Aug. 3 I'll be curious to see if the black out dates predicted are correct. If so, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a FD PIN or a decent room discount. All is not lost!

No. It is based on the day you check in (had to do a split stay last year, because I check in a day before FD started).

On the other hand, if the day that you check in the FD ends, you'll still get it for the rest of your stay (even though, technically FD is not on for days 2+ of the stay).

That's great b/c we are ready to book for that week (10-18 through 10-24) and I was wondering if we could get the discount somehow too.

I was wondering why these two weeks were listed as blackoutdates b/c they were listed in the least crowded weeks of the year. I would assume they would offer more discounts to bring more people in. I guess I was wrong.
