Same boat as all you guys. Oct 15-23. Oh well I did not want no stupid free dining anyway :kicks some can: . At least it's still Disney.

Discounts are offered to fill empty rooms. Obviously they don't need to fill them because they are all booked that week (filling whatever quota they have). There may also be some sports event going on that week that are filling the resorts. I've always noticed that the blackout are the same each year. Holidays, pop warner, etc.

As mentioned, no need to reward anyone for booking early. Getting a discount often requires one to be flexible with dates and resorts.

wait what week are people talking of? I'm not following. I haven't seen anything official yet. I'm not really in it for FD i'm more hoping for the giftcard they did before.

we are looking for 10/14-17. Not a week but close enough. I'm not sure why that time period would be blacked out. No one I know of is on vacation in fact it's the week after Columbus day.
