October 16, 2011 Mexican Riviera on the Wonder

I just had to call Disney about something else so while I had them on the phone I asked about this and it sounds like what you read in the postings is accurate. The cast member looked up our sailing and said that there were no Halloween activites scheduled for the Oct 16th sailing...just for the two sailings after ours. :sad1:

Not cool. :sad1:

Hey all...

Only 40 more days to go :woohoo: and I'm workin' like a mad woman to get my FE crafts done in time! :hyper: I'm sure there are a few others who are making homemade/personalized FE gifts.

Just a reminder...

To all those who have posted your travel party info either here or on the spreadsheet Jathanis made, Thank You so so much!! :thumbsup2 To those who have not, Please Do! (Very soon if possible!!) I hope I'm not being too pushy or annoying anyone, I just don't want to leave anyone out. :worried: Especially the kids, that would make me feel just terrible!! :sad2:

If you don't want your info posted here, I totally understand that as well. I am happy to accept PM's with the info if that is more comfortable for you. :)

Thanks everyone!! We'll be seeing you all REAL SOON!! YAY!!!

Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2 I've sent everyone potentially involved in our FE a PM tonight with the link to the spreadsheet in question, and a few subtle reminders of my own... :rolleyes1

I do want to note two VERY IMPORTANT things that I thought of over the weekend:
  • If you have a GTY room, be sure to send me your actual room number as soon as you get it! We can't deliver gifts to cabin GTY...
  • Also, if you decide to try for a port upgrade on they day we embark, you MUST get me that info AS SOON AS YOU GET ON THE SHIP! I'd hate for someone to miss our FE in the pursuit of a really great deal (as I, myself, am considering...)

On a different note, I'm extremely bummed about the halloween thing - why they would have trick or treating on my 10/17-10/21 cruise last year, but not on this one just confuses the heck out of me! :confused3 Oh, well...

It got awfully quiet on this board all of a sudden! Where'd everybody go...? :rotfl:

Only 36 more days!! Woot! FE crafts are coming out GREAT! Can't wait to pass them out! Hope everybody likes them! :)

I was thinking the same thing, plus I was wondering if all my PMs scared everyone off! :confused3 I've logged more time in photoshop the past few days than I have in months. Took a while to remember how to do a few things!

LOL! :lmao:

Hey Jeff, am I reading correct...you are celebrating not only Laurie's 8th birthday but Jerri Lynn's birthday AND your 16th anniversary all during this cruise?!

I'm all excited for the cruise

I check this thread everyday, but I don't have anything to add. But I do want to see what other folks have to say though :woohoo:

Yes, you have that correct - my daughter, Laurie, turns 8 on our PV day (10/19), our 16th is on the second Cabo day(10/21), and my wife turns 29 again on the final day at sea (10/22). Made for some easy planning on my part! One trip, three major family events...

Last year we got a free 4 night Caribbean for buying into the Grand Californian on DVC, and we took that this same time last year, so Laurie celebrated her 7th on Castaway Cay, so she's had back-to-back birthdays on the Wonder! Add that to the 1 birthday at WDW and the 3 she's had at Disneyland, and I'm thinking we may be spoiling her a bit... :rolleyes1

Thank you for the info anthonysmama!! What are you guys planning on wearing for the pirate night? I'm still trying to convince DH to wear something fun :thumbsup2. I have a feeling my 3 year old will be dressed like a princess the ENTIRE cruise!!

One more question for those of you who have been on a Disney ship. We have a standard room with an ocean view and i'm wondering how much room there is in there for our stroller? I'm trying to figure out what the best one to bring that will actually fit in the room!!

Ok... who has done this particular cruise before? :confused3

On this thread, Boiseflyfisher said way back on page 4 that they took this same cruise back in January or February, but he/she hasn't been very active of late... You just have some general questions? I can point you to several MR reviews on this forum from the spring that helped me out quite a bit, if you'd like.

Hopefully this will give you a good idea - here's a picture of our deck 2 Cat 10(?) cabin looking out the porthole (when made into a bed, the sofa doesn't take almost any more room):

And here are two looking back toward the door:

If you look at the last one, there should be room to set a decent size folding stroller against the wall where the white garbage can is. You could also put it in the closet - that thing was more than enough for the three of us, especially as most of our stuff (shorts, shirts, etc) didn't hang in there, but went in drawers!

If your stroller is small enough you might be able to store it under the bed, which is also a great place to store luggage.

That is so awesome! One stop shopping for you! :yay: I can't even tell ya how many birthdays my ten year old Anthony has celebrated at Disneyland. It helps that we are only about 40 mins away. :woohoo: We've had passes ever since he was 2 years old and go ALL the time. I'm sure we'll be the same way with Valerie, spending almost every birthday there! It's not spoiling...its training the next generation of Disney Fanatics!! :rotfl:

No problem. As far as pirate night goes, I heard from a friend of mine who took this cruise in January of this year that this night is the best!! SOO fun!! Our entire family will be dressed up in costume! pirate: I guess I should take some pix of us in them so I can post them here...they have to be saved online somewhere (like Photobucket) to post them here correct? I've never posted pix here before...

Oh, and as far as a stroller goes, I found somewhere on the boards where someone had posted pics of a regular full size Graco stroller that barely fit thru the cabin doorway, so that prompted me to go get an umbrella stroller because I am certain that our jogger will not fit! The back wheels would be way too wide! Babies R Us has a great selection of umbrella strollers and even the "lightweight" strollers if you prefer something with the basket under the seat, as most umbrella strollers don't have them. :( I can't remember which thread I saw the pics on or I'd post it here for you. If I run across it again in the next month, I'll post it for you!

I just wanted to know about the Harbor Cruise in Cabo. I have heard that the boat passes the rocks you see in the Harbor Cruise and really makes it a second tour so-to-speak. I have heard good things about this excursion but I don't want to do something I have already seen. :confused3

We are looking for an excursion that is a tour and good for 3 adults. None of us have been to Cabo so we want to get in some shopping time and possibly some beach time. Any suggestions?
