October 16, 2011 Mexican Riviera on the Wonder

hi folks,
been mostly lurking as we weren't sure until the 45 day mark if we were in for sure (which we now obviously are!) we were on the MR trip in Feb and it was awesome and we're back for our 15th wedding anniversary. still planning to totally surprise the kids (as in pull into the parking lot before we spill the beans - they'll be zoning on the DVD player or angry birds assuming we're doing to DLR ;-)

I submitted the FE form - sounds fun!
cheers
betsy

Woo Hoo! :yay: Happy to see more participants!! Keeps me busy crafting! ;)

Just noticed after looking at the FE spreadsheet...we are gonna be neighbors on the cruise!! We are in 7041!

Thanks Brandy! :)

No problem at all. :) My baby girl doesn't appreciate sleep as much as I do, so I never seem to get any! Gotta keep myself busy on the pc before I go nuts with all these cartoons and baby talk! :thumbsup2 Gonna be nice to have some adult conversations while on the cruise! :rotfl:

Can't Wait!!! :yay:

I know there were several posts earlier in this thread about Cabo excursions. I am just curious what everyone has decided to do. We are booked through DCL for the Pirate Boat Sail & Snorkel Adventure in Puerto Vallarta, but are still having a hard time coming up with what to do in Cabo.

We're doing the Pirate excursion in Puerto Vallarta too. In Cabo we're just going to hang out at the beach and maybe wander around town a little.

Still undecided here as far as Cabo goes. Debating whether or not to trust booking outside of Disney... :confused3 In PV, we are booked thru Disney @ the Paradise Beach Resort, but cannot find anything for the whole family to do together in Cabo out of the choices I see on DCL's website. :( Valerie is still too young for most of the fun stuff and I don't wanna leave her on the ship. Ugh...decisions, decisions! We may just stay on the ship. I hear there's lots of fun stuff to do there!! :dance3:

Pools are nice when in port, not nearly as crowded since a lot of people are off the ship. We'll be going to the Dolphin Center in Cabo, and hopefully we'll get some shopping in while there. Puerto Paraiso seems like it's close to port and has some shopping options.

Since it doesn't look like there will be any Halloween activities on our sailing</snip>

Just out of curiosity, why would you say that? When we took the 10/16 - 10/21 Caribbean last fall on the Wonder, they did trick or treating on the ship on either the first or second day, and ended it with a big dance party on deck for any kids in costume. I'd assume that this cruise would be similar...

And no, no problems here! :thumbsup2

A couple of people posted on another thread that they had received emails from DCL regarding Halloween activities. The email indicated that the Halloween activities would be on Oct. 23rd and Oct 30th sailings. I'm still holding out hope that maybe we'll get something though!

We booked through ShoreTrips.com on previous cruises and never had a problem. I don't really see anything through them either through for Cabo that would work for my family. We will most likely end up just doing some shopping on our own or may try to find a beach.

Oh I hope you are right! That would just be the icing on the cake if we got to see Mickey and Minnie in costume. Keeping fingers crossed! :goodvibes

I found a site www.cabosanlucastours.net that has a few options that I wouldn't mind trying with our kids. Maybe you will be able to find something there...? :)

Hello everyone! I haven't posted much but just had a couple questions. We're going to be traveling with a 3 year old and 7 month old. Are we allowed to bring a life jacket for our 3 year old? She's potty trained so she can go in the pool :cool1:

Also, do kids dress up in costumes a lot? My daughter wants to bring EVERY costume she has!!

This isn't our first cruise, but it is our first disney cruise and we're getting SO excited!!!

Hi there! I was looking for the answer to this question myself and this is all I could find on the DCL website...

Coast Guard personal flotation devices (PFDs), water wings and flotation sewn into bathing suits can be brought onboard and are permitted in Mickey's Pool. However, floats, rafts and fun noodles will not be allowed onboard.

I'm assuming that means yes for life jackets and no for baby boat floaties. Being an inexperienced cruiser myself, I would most likely call them directly and ask to be sure its not just wasted space in your luggage if they won't allow it. ;)

As far as dressing up goes, our entire family will be dressing up in costume for pirate night! pirate: I also have a Tinkerbell costume for our daughter which we will most likely be bringing along just to make for some special memories in our pictures! :wizard: I'm sure your daughter(s) will not be AT ALL out of place in princess costumes!! princess: I'd say go for it! Let her dress up every day if she wants!! :yay: Can't wait till our baby girl is in that stage!! :woohoo:

My daughter doesn't know we are going and won't find out until we are on the plane, but I am packing all of her princess dresses! I know she'll want them and it makes for great pictures!

I just had to call Disney about something else so while I had them on the phone I asked about this and it sounds like what you read in the postings is accurate. The cast member looked up our sailing and said that there were no Halloween activites scheduled for the Oct 16th sailing...just for the two sailings after ours. :sad1:
