I have a question about our DIStag...I've been rather preoccupied with some ongoing medical issues and haven't given much thought to our game...without giving away too much what do people usually leave when they tag someone else? I don't want to shortchange anyone... so, a little help please?

Not sure if I already asked this question, but here it goes anyway.

Let's say we get to board the ship at noon and our staterooms aren't ready until 1:30. What do we do with our carryons? Can we drop them off at our room or do we have to keep them with us until "mousekeeping" is done?

Also, how do we know when our room is ready? Do we just keep going back to it or is it like the resorts where we just call a certain number and they will let us know if it is ready?

Just another 1st timer question.

I have never actually had to wait on the room being ready - We have always been on board by 12:00 , I drop the carry ons and hit the Bar and pool in that order
Where exactly do I sign up for "Tag" and how many "goodies " do we need ?
This will be a first for us .
But it sounds like a great way to get the trip going

Yes, I've been following that thread as well, and I saw your post where you were begging and pleading for the Navigators. Of course, I'll be right there in the surge of humanity trying to get to them when (if) they are posted!

Me - Me - Me too!!! I'd sure love to see some updated Navigators. I put together a 'tentative' scheudle (posted on our Yahoo group) - hoping to update it with any changes. Please keep me in mind if any sees a link that posts and new eastern Nav's.

Heck if I know...I thought we were making this up as we go!

I've wondered this as well...If it is going to be something that we attach to the "fish" outside the door, it seems like it must be fairly small and light? Also, it better not appear to be interesting/valuable or I'm guessing it will be subject to getting snatched by someone other than the room's occupants. Hmmm...

Also, how do we know when our room is ready?

As I recall, they have ropes up at the hallway entrances (just off the elevators/stairs)...Once they drop those, you're free to go to your stateroom. I know of no way to know when the "rope drops" other than to check back at the deck you are on periodically.

Go to our Yahoo Group at DCL-October-15-Cruisers,
and in particular go to the database that lists the cruisers:
October 15 Cruisers Database. Add an entry with your information, and enter "Yes" in the "Speedtag?" column. That's all there is to it!

I'd sure love to see some updated Navigators.

I'm anxious to see some newer navigators, too. (The most recent one I've seen is from early April.) However, I don't think I'll put too much stock in them, since I suppose that a number of things might change after the drydock. We're first after the drydock, so we get to be the guinea pigs! (Do guinea pigs have good teeth? )

We always just take our carry on's with us to Topsiders and stake out a nice table outside to relax for a bit and eat those Jumbo shrimp and sip on a Bahama mamma!!! Very nice! Then we call everyone at home and say " Guess what we are doing????" They hate us!

Usually around 1:15 we will head to our room and see if it is ready!!

So just relax and enjoy.........

QUESTION: Do any of you bring your own pillow??? I really want too! I just don't sleep well with other strange pillows and we will be gone for 9 days!! I am thinking of just carrying it with me on the plane???

Sorry to be a pest...but I can't access the yahoo database from my computer at work...our internet firewalls think yahoo is evil.

I'm trying to find out how many people are actually signed up for DIStag so that I can start getting my stuff together. Anyone able to give me a number right now?

you go to www.tinyurl.com and plopped the longer link in and it spits out a tiny url which I put in here with the Insert Hyperlink button that looks like this:

then it will ask you for the text you want displayed and then the hyperlink...
actually was the 1st time i've used tinyurl... seen others use it...

The vicodin sounds like a good idea, but it won't help your URL posting problem. The DIS has a filter that intercepts certain URLs and replaces them with asterisks, and the URL you were trying to post (Barb's site) is one of them. The stated reason for the blocking of that URL is that it is to a site that features commercial advertising. Obviously many sites that you might link to will have advertising and won't be caught by the filter. The problem is that Barb's site advertises her own travel agent services, and those services are obviously in competition with Dreams Unlimited, the sponsor of the DISBoards. Now I love the DISBoards, and I am a happy Dreams customer, but I do think blocking links to a site that is helpful to many DIS cruisers is a bit much...

awesome...so glad to see...sure can use all interested in playing go to the yahoo data base and place a 'YES' under the speedtag column. I'll need to get a full count the end of sept-early oct.
