October 15, 2005 anyone?

Just remember why you are dieting pics below to remind you. One off cruise one from Ghirardelli's.
My problem is we go away too much. This weekend in Amsterdam I know a little place that does a fantastic creamy mushroom sauce with the steaks. I will just eat and drink too much. Start again Wednesday with the diet. :drinking1

wayne you are evil! :maleficen and i am jealous!

yeah, i had plans to diet and look good for the cruise but time is ticking and really who cares? If i shave off a few years of my life eating well so be it!

I have seen DISers with the 11day cruise sign popping up all over and i looked at their thread...after just a couple weeks thay are already at almost 1000 posts...of course these are the same DISers that went on the repo cruise in may with about 26,000 posts on their meet site! I would love to do the 10 or 11 day but it just does not fit with my hubby's days off next year...plus i keep hoping they will do a med cruise or another repo in 2007! i will have to mortgage a child to pay for that one! :rotfl:

everyone got their door magnets made up?

Alright, I've got another one.

If you were feeling the "crunch" to try to pack everything before your vacation started would you stop packing luggage and sign on to your trusty computer to tell the DISworld about your packing woes? Wouldn't you be better off actually packing rather than posting about your inability to pack within a short period of time?

I have to ask you all once more...am I missing something??? Perhaps I need to stop looking at this from a logical point of view... ;)

:teeth:

OMG!!!! Brenda....I was thinking that very same thing. I so badly wanted to post something myself. I've been known to get into trouble when I do, so I just shutup!! I'm wondering if anyone responded to them the way we would have!! :rotfl2:

I have a boss that keeps telling her dad (the owner) that she has waaaay too much on her plate. Yet 5 minutes later she is on her cell phone with her feet up on the desk for 2 hours!! I don't know... some people's children!!

No more full weeks of work for this girl until the cruise!! :cheer2:

Nancy :wave2:

You guys made me curious...I had to go and see for myself what "thread" you were talking about. WOW! Very interesting to say the least. I can't believe that some people responded. I wouldn't know what to say. :)

Anyway, Everyone have a good weekend! Brenda, good luck w/ the diet. :)

Wayne, love the pictures! :)

For those with a bowl of popcorn ready, and an interest in reading a debate about as likely to reach consensus as a "Cards vs. Cubs" thread would, the oft-repeating debate about pulling the kids out of school is taking place on the Cruise board:

Pulling the Kids Out of School

Pretty civil so far (as compared to some previous threads on the matter), but the usual debate about whether or not it really is a felony in California :earseek: , and a veiled comparison between DISer's pulling kids from school with people evading taxes. (Just call me Al Capone, I guess! :teeth: Did he have good teeth? :rotfl: )

I don't! I just can't come up with anything! I will probably be that person sitting up all night the night before alternating between the computer for door magnets and the bedroom for packing.

Oh yeah, and the DIS tocomplain about not being able to get it all done. :)

On the Repo Cruise thread over on the main Cruise Board, a poster just stated the following:
There were triva questions asked along the way, of which I managed to answer one correctly, the prize is being one of the first guest to experiecne the Sting Rays at Castaway...WOW! Winotracy was also at the talk and managed to answer correctly also. So... we will be among the first to enjoy!
This would seem to imply that the Sting Ray "excursion" will be up and running at Castaway Cay by next Friday when the Repo Cruise arrives. Of course, it could just be a "test run" and not fully operational yet. But it does bode well for the likelihood of it being ready by the time we get there on October 21st.

AH...THE INFAMOUS "SHOULD WE PULL OUR KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL" THREAD....

who cares? people will do what they want...i pull mine out....people just want their own opinions validated and then get mad at the ones who disagree...money is my main issue...i simply cannot afford to cruise during the summer or breaks so we just make do when we can....

Nancy, i like your new ribbon! I am jealous you do not have to work much until the cruise! :flower:

Okay, that cracked me up this morning. I still haven't done any of my door magnets yet, and don't like my odds of getting it done.

AH...THE INFAMOUS "SHOULD WE PULL OUR KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL" THREAD....
And this particular version of that infamous subject has now sailed into the sunset, thanks to the moderator's handy-dandy padlock! :rotfl:

The moderator didn't give a reason for locking the thread, but I think a reasonably good guess would be, "beating a dead horse!" :rotfl2:

48 days until embarkation! 1063 hours until I start my vacation! :earsboy:

Thanks!! Now that I got my "clean bill of health" concerning my cancer, I decided to change my Mickey Head to the Ribbon.

Don't be too jealous about my work weeks. This week is shorter than 40 hours because I have to go to the dentist on Thursday!! Hopefully one more trip on the Molar Express and then I'm done for a year!!! :teeth:

Well guys...guess what we did today!! Yup, you got it...we packed!!! :rotfl:
We are now 90% done!!! Just a few more things to get thrown into our suitcases. We have one whole suitcase (carry on size) with all our "junk" in it. You know, the stuff everyone keeps telling us we need. Since we are first timers, we will follow all the packing rules. I'm sure we will use maybe 1/2 of it all. :confused3

We decided to pack our formal clothes in our carryon's. Mine just rolls up in one corner (wrinkle free) and Chuck packed dress pants, dress shirt and a tie. His jacket is packed in a garment bag. We thought that if our luggage doesn't follow us for some reason, at least we won't be kicked out and be made to wear a sandwich board explaining our "sins" for not dressing up on formal night. Gosh, we wouldn't want that now would we??? :rotfl2:

Maybe I'll start a thread on the main thread asking about formal wear!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hey...BTW...what is "Lime Green" anyway? I'm thinking a bright green...maybe flourescent? The limes here in Wisconsin are a dark green and I'm sure that's not our official color. Sorry....just another dumb question from a 1st Timer!!

Later Friends,
Nancy :wave2:

Ok...here's another question for you.

I've read on this board about people booking another cruise while on one. Then they transfer the reservation to a TA.

Why do this??? Doesn't the TA get stiffed on her commission?? :confused3

I don't get it. Can anyone explain plz???

Thanks,
Nancy
:hourglass 44 more days until vacation!!!

Hehehe. I am glad that someone noticed. :)

Well, you will be able to tell OUR rooms then. We'll be the ones with the Dominos Pizza magnets on our doors that we just grabbed off the refrigerator. :)

Wow! Already packed? That is pretty amazing! I haven't even started thinking about what I am going to take. I did win a bid on a really pretty red formal dress for Katie today on Ebay!

I am not a big Ebay person at all, but I was goofing around on it last night and found the dress and had to have it. I got it for a great price too if it is as cute as it looks on the auction!

Kathy....now I know what to bring you for speed tag!! I have a neighbor who works at Dominos. Maybe we'll bring you a few more!!

ROFL! I can see my whole door covered in Pizza magnets now. :)

I posted to you on my Christmas Card thread, but realized that I was getting off on a tangent, so I am reposting it over here, so that only the people sailing with us are forced to read my babbling. :)

schmoogirl! hi!!

i think the cards are $20 for 25 or $35 for 50...with envelopes and i think they can only use certain poses....

we are going to do this too! we'll of course see you there!

we can have a "best-dressed" contest between our girls!!! :flower:

Oh man...On formal night, I am going to win. :) I just won the most adorable auction on Ebay! I rarely ever get clothes off of Ebay, but I was goofing around on it last night, and came across the dress and just HAD to have it. :) (Not to mention that I got a GREAT deal!)

I just hope it is as nice as it looks, and that it fits!

Oh yeah, then there is the night when My Daughter and the Daughters of my two friends will all be in their matching sailor dresses and bows. :) They are all within 5 months in age of each other.

I'm sure that BOTH of our girls will be the cutest on the ship, though. How could they NOT be? :) Of course, I have no idea what to put my wee one in for Pirate Night!

Are you all going to do the Christmas picture in casual or formal? My first thought was formal, but we have what I like to call a "Christmas Wall," which is basically a Christmas picture every year since my Husband and I got married. We are usually in Business Casual/Church Dressy, so I have no idea if a Family "Formal" picture will stick out like a sore thumb. :)

my family never sees us dressed up together so we will probably use our formal picture...but who knows? a picture in casual clothes may be cuter...i think i will just wait for the last day to see them all and then decide...

by the way, one of the best tips i ever got was to look at all the picures every day and put all of our pictures in a pile together...that way on the last night, all my pics were together for me to choose from....

you may think you have the cutest dress but just you wait! (evil laugh :maleficen )

nancy...i am so jealous! i want to be packed...i have begun to gather the clutter up into one big bag and i need to start sorting and putting outfits together in ziplocs.

i found my disney cruise line pen today and i have been using it to write at work tonight! I cannot believe it is getting so close!

I have to go to the dentist in the morning for cleaning and a filling...wish me luck! :cool1: :teeth:

Okay, your gals may win cutest girls on the cruise, but my DS will no doubt be the cutest boy on the cruise with these outfits...

I LOVE eBay! Although I think DH is going to kill me when he sees these. And DS is going to kill me when he's old enough to know how I dressed him... I figure I have to do it now while he still lets me dress him. This may be the end of that!
