October 15, 2005 anyone?

For Spa Treatments, I have a Massage scheduled on Sunday morning (very early! I plan to get up, walk deck 4 a while, rinse off and go to the massage!) I also have a Facial scheduled for Thursday at Sea, although I MIGHT cancel it. Wealso have Cabanamassagesscheduled for Castaway Cay.

I like the massages!

Is everyone planning on dressing up for pirate night? I figure most of the kids will, but are there many adults that do?

I doubt that we will dress up as pirates. I do have a Pirate Costume, but I'm not sure that I want to lug it down there. Then again, Jeff was Captain Hook last year, so he does still have that. Hrm....Too bad Katie's Tinkerbell costume won't fit her anymore! :)

I have attached a couple of pics from last Octobers Pirate night just to show you all how silly you will look :rotfl2:

What if I don't "DO" hats or scarves? Will they make me walk the plank for beign a party pooper?

As much as I love spa treatments, I think some of DCL's prices are too high for the level of service you receive. If it's something you really want to splurge on then go for it - it is vacation after all! I usually look for treatments that I would never get to try at the spa at home...hence the cabana massage (it's all about the atmosphere, that one is) or the naughty mud treatment. Although I wouldn't be comfortable with one of DCL's spa employees giving me a facial...my skin is so annoyingly sensitive thanks to my Crohns medication that I won't trust it to anyone that isn't a licensed esthetician.

I should really be getting some work done...instead I've been thinking about this trip all day... :teeth:

So here's a question for you guys...

How fast do rates go up after the dates/rates are initially released? What I'm wondering is if I want to do a cruise in 2007 and they release the dates/rates in September, am I better off booking then or waiting until I'm on the cruise in mid-October and getting the on-board booking discount. In other words, would the rates likely increase by more than 10% from the time they were released in September until our cruise in mid-October? Surely not, right? I know some special cruises, like the Panama Canal cruises have increased outrageously fast, but I don't think we would do one of those. Probably just a regular Eastern or Western and probably during the off-season.

I know I'm over-analyzing this...

Didn't see a plank last year but maybe while in dry dock they are adding one. pirate:

Wish I was sat in that porthole now instead of rainy UK.

Welcome Suzie from KY...UK...is that University of Kentucky...if so hmmm.... ;) Are you going to play speed tag? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

All of you that love to go shopping, will you get me some new clothes? I don't want to be wearing the same clothes from our last cruise!!! Wouldn't look good in the pictures! :teeth:

Thanks for the pirate pictures Wayne. Looks like you were having a great time.

Add me to the list of spa junkies, but I'm picky, too. I'll probably get most of my "work" done before the trip. We'll see if I really have enough time. :earboy2:

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Sara

Michelle....Love the necklace idea!! I vote for green once's to match our Green Mickeyheads!! Our dinnermates, Jo and Danny, (Perdidobay) are dressing up for Pirate night. We are too, but we aren't going all out. A black ruffled blouse, tons of gawdy jewelry, a red scarf is good enough for me. Chuck is wearing an eyepatch, a skull n crossbones scarf on his head and a gold earring. DS (24) is trying to talk him into getting his ear pierced for the earring!! :rotfl:

Suzie...Sussex??? Holy Cow, we were practically neighbors. Not sure where Menomonee Park is. DH has a bunch of cousins who live in Sussex. What street did you live on? I live about a block or two from Brookfield. We are on El Rio Drive right around Pilgrim and SilverSpring Dr. Brenda has a brother that lives in Hartland (or Hartford)...sorry Brenda, I don't remember. Why the move to Kentucky?? :sunny:

Jen....Half packed? Ok, that does it!! I'm getting my suitcase from the garage right now. I have a lot of my stuff separated in drawers, just have to move them to the suitcase. We're bringing an extra empty suitcase for all our treasures from the islands. Right now my carryon is full of junk, like Mickey gloves for the sailaway party, my speed tag gifts, vhs tapes, pirate night clothes...etc. I better save room for extra clothes just in case my suitcase doesn't follow me to the ship.

Are we still doing green tags for our luggage?

Oh yeah...if I have a vote for the second DISmeet, lets not do Thursday night unless it's late. Chuck and I are going to Palo (not Palo's :teeth: ) that night at 7:00.

Later Friends...
Nancy :wave2:

Okay, now I'm going to have to go look on Disney direct & probably spend more money on something "pirate". Last year we did have a lot of fun & we did bring hat's, eye patches, & earings. This year I am "trying" to travel lighter. (Last year-2 adults, 3 kids w/ 3 backpacks, 1 backpack purse, 1 soft briefcase, 1 carry-on, 4 suitcases, AND 2 garment bags) See what I mean? My DH practically got on his knees and begged for me not to put him through that again. :confused3 :rotfl: Anyway, hence the Not bringing "pirate" stuff, but the pressure, the pressure.... (J/K) :teeth: I'm thinking this will be alot of fun. And, if you like to dance... Do the cha cha slide, the macerana? Last year we danced on the goofy pool w/ the kids. We had a blast!!! :) Grrrrrrrrrrr pirate:

Ahoy Mateys!!! pirate:

I found this great fabric for my daughter than i am having made into some kind of shirt for pirate night but i think the rest of us will wear regular clothes although the costumes at disney are great...for those of you that get the catalog, did you notice all the costumes for animals!!!?

I am working on my door magnets and figuring out how to use the computer....i am reading the 200 page thread about door signs as we speak!

Suzie...we have a connection to your twelve year old named Billy but i will save that secret for on board.....

well, my hubby is at the "Please stop talking about the cruise all the time" stage for me so i am trying to not talk about it all the time to him but he just does not get it....i have organized some clothes/accesories together in a bag for the cruise but we still have to take some things to the dry cleaners and get my husband's pants to his new suit fitted.

I was going to go to the dentist next monday for filling and cleaning but my hubby has to go out of town on business so i have a reprieve for now!!! all my kids are back in school and it is very nice!!!

i am also wondering about 2007 rates. Some people on the boards say you can make a ressie with Disney now when 2007 rates come out and then they can transfer that $$$ to a new ressie on board...any of you experienced disers..is this true? :confused3

All I have to say to you txaggie is... "Your very brave!" At the rate things go for people on the Molar Express I am absolutely terrified :scared1: to step foot in a dentist. At least BEFORE the cruise. :teeth:

Whew! I was getting scared there! I don't want to walk the plank! I don't swim well!

To quote Austin Powers, who had simply awful teeth and would have been a gret mascot for our cruise...

"Yeah, baby!!"

:teeth:

that was me on the last cruise....

NOT!

so to re-iterate just so I have it down:

1. We are going to have a DIS meet at the Promenade Lounge on Sunday at 1PM?

2. Some of us are going to play DIS Speed tag (maybe just tag) where goodies might be left at the next "it's" door... aka Cubs/Cards/D-backs or U of K/college rival that I don't know stuff... or just nice little things...

3. While standing in the boarding line we are going to have mardi-gras like beads... maybe green... if not... then any color

4. There will be a post-tag meet where the goodies can be shown off/and worn (I promise.. no Cubbie blue boxers!). Plan is some day on Thursday... not sure when/where though.

5. (Tongue in cheek) All members of the Molar Express will have a check-up on board.

did I miss anything? huh huh huh? oh yeah... water skiing out of Port Canaveral

Later,
Paul

Alright, I've got another one.

If you were feeling the "crunch" to try to pack everything before your vacation started would you stop packing luggage and sign on to your trusty computer to tell the DISworld about your packing woes? Wouldn't you be better off actually packing rather than posting about your inability to pack within a short period of time?

I have to ask you all once more...am I missing something??? Perhaps I need to stop looking at this from a logical point of view... ;)

Seven more weeks to go!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hope you all have a great weekend - I'm kick starting my diet this weekend...no food and all liquid dietary supplements for 48 hours. I sure hope this works! Wish me luck...I'm sure I'll be far too weak from hunger to post until Monday morning. :teeth:
