October 15, 2005 anyone?

   :worried:

Guess I am going to have to make me one for my door!

You guys are all so good! Your signs are awesome!! :goodvibes

She is cute! :maleficen Maybe she is for Halloween!

Got tickets last night for Princess classics on Ice! :genie: :wizard:
Pre code! Great seats. Barb and I are taking the kids so Reese (2 1/2) can get familiar with all the Princesses before the cruise. We go on Sept 18th and so she should remember by Oct 15th. ::MickeyMo

Bye

nancy those door magnets are awesome! I really like the molar express one - at the rate we're going we'll have three molar express logos...I love it!! :teeth:

If someone can explain how to make these I'd sure love to get some ready...I wanna play tag!!

:maleficen :maleficen :maleficen ...Why is this here and why in the world is she so darn happy?

Kathy...I used magnetic paper for my stateroom magnets. I bought some at Office Max but I understand Walmart has it too.

Brenda...I bought a software program for about $9.00 via the internet for some of the backgrounds. It was a kids program called Magic Studio...or something like that. I can look when I get home tonight and let you know for sure. All you do is pick a background, and then pick and choose some of the characters and little extras. You can place them anywhere on the picture.
Really easy!!! And that's coming from someone who can barely send emails without having them reject! :rotfl2:

Michelle...FYI, Donaldsgal (Jenny) told me that no one else approached her to make magnets for them. I believe she is open to the idea of being hired to print a few up for you. I just gave her a bunch of info about us and let her at it. She designed them all on her own. The little price I paid for them was worth it for me. I could NEVER have done that on my own.

Ok...now that she's new...I just have to use her!! :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen

Later Friends,
Nancy :wave2:

P.S. I get my new crown on Monday. Hope I don't cry!! :scared1:

We are on deck 5 too. Room 5020. :sunny:

Nancy, I love your door magnets! Especially the one w/ you & your DH.

I'm jealous. I wasn't going to do door magnets this time around, but I think I've changed my mind. :earsgirl: Your door magnets are soooo cute!

~Have a great weekend everyone! :wave2:

Okay, I'll be a copycat... :) :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen

Thanks for all the compliments on the magnets. I only wish I could take all the credit for them.

Brenda...the name of the software is Disney's Magic Artist Studio

www.disneyinteractive.com

Nancy :maleficen (I just love this gal!!)

i think we all love her! :maleficen

i ordered print artist off ebay for really cheap! I plan on using it this year for signs...one problem i had last year was the magnetic paper getting caught in my printer and printing crooked...since it is so expensive i will not do that again....i will print up cards on cardstock and put magnetic tape on them! i get to decorate 2 doors!

Couldn't find that software on Disney Direct - how else does an artistically challenged middle-aged geek like me make door signs?

Open to suggestions..... :teeth:

Thanks!

B.

Brenda, I am really computer illeterate, but what I did last year was download Disney Font from simplythebest.net. When you get to their website you just type in Disney Font in the search box. The download is free. I got this info of these boards last year. Also, @ disneyclipart.com you can just right click on the images that you want and save them to your computer. Last year I just searched the web for all sorts of Disney clipart and right clicked on any image that I wanted. It doesn't always work, though. Anyway, I bought some magnetic paper (I had 10 pieces) figured out what I wanted to do, practiced printed it out on regular paper first because magnetic paper is expensive and it worked out great for me. I used the font on my microsoft works to type in things I wanted & I used clipart that was fun for the kids & i used fun scissors to cut images out. I door was completely covered & the kids had so much fun decorating it. Anyway, this was pretty easy for me, but probably not as nice as Nancy's are. But, it is omething that you can play around with and it doesn't cost you anything, besides the paper.

Sorry message is so long.  :teeth:

Couldn't find that software on Disney Direct...
Brenda,

You can also order it off of Amazon: Disney Magic Artist Studio

I got it from there a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to install/play with it yet. I need to get on that soon. (Only 1755 hours until I start my vacation! :rotfl: )

My understanding is that after you install the software, you do need to download a patch from the Disney Interactive web site if you are running on Windows XP.

Happy Sign Making!

Embarkation is exactly eleven weeks (77 days) from today!

I'll be going to Palo for High Tea this cruise and need to know what to wear. I know this can be a "loaded" question but please be kind. :teeth: It's just an innocent little question.

I don't own a dress, skirt, skort, or anything that resembles it. I was thinking a nice pair of capris and pretty shirt???? :confused3

Thanks,

Nancy :wave2:

Nancy,
based on what I saw people wearing at afternoon tea last year you should be fine.

Thanks everyone for the sign making tips...we'll see what happens. :earboy2:

I think that would be just fine for tea. I usually wear capris or a casual skirt. It isn't as dressy as Palo dinner! :earboy2: :earboy2: :maleficen :earboy2: :earboy2:

Okay this is all new to me. So bear with me. My son has been using this board for a while now and I think it is about time for me to do the same. We will be cruising on Oct. 15th also and I am really getting excited about it now. I have been reading your post for a couple of evenings now and they have really increased my excitement about this cruise. My last and only cruise was 19 or so years ago on The Big Red Boat. That is what Disney use to use before they took the plunge and built their own line. I have a lot of questions but will use this space just to introduce myself at this time. As I learn how I will add some of the cute icons and so on. Oh wait I see where I can do that.

Well, welcome to DIS and The Molar Express. When you catch up on the posts in this thread, you are welcome to review a seperate site created to share additional information - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCL-October-15-cruisers/join?
It's funny :rotfl: I printed off the first 50 (or so) pages on our thread for my DW to read and catch up on everything, you should have seen her eyes...guess she wasn't expecting a binder about 2-3" thick. :earseek:

We've been up-north for most of this week, and I needed some time to get caught up - myself :rolleyes1

I love the idea of DIS-Tag - that sounds fun. What about Speed DIS-Tag? I’ve been kicking around some rules and suggestions for all to discuss – here goes;
- The spirit of this is to enhance the fun during our cruise
- Each participant will receive during our first meet (Sunday and the Promenade Lounge @ 10a [I think it was 10]) a green mickey head magnet and list of contestants/room numbers (I’ll provide these).
- The list will determine the order you will follow in delivering your green mickey and an ‘item’ to be left as fish mail (everyone will have the same list – just a different starting point).
- As you receive a mickey head, forward it with your ‘item’ to the next person on your list – continue until you visit everybody. The object is to treat a received mickey head as a ‘hot potato’.

Here are some suggestions for items to be left as ‘fish mail’;
 A trinket from your home state – post card, lapel pin or bumper sticker
 Something to enhance the ‘baseball rivalry’ (appears we have a couple on our thread)
 Someone mentioned ‘dental gadgets’…FYI – dentists give me panic attacks…I’ll let you come up with some suggestions
 A birthday or anniversary card for those celebrating ‘special days’ on the ship
 (Shhhh – here’s mine) see if the logo created can be made into a button.

Since we all have busy agendas, I fear if we ‘play’ with one green mickey, the ‘game’ might stall.

Also, it might be fun to get together during the end of our cruise to share what we’ve received from our fellow cruisers. We can offer kudos to the creativity of others and a nice ‘until we meet again’ gathering. OH – and yes…if Paul offers Brenda a Cub’s hat….Brenda not only needs to bring it…she needs to wear it. Maybe this is one of the reasons Someone at work nicknamed me 'THE SPOON' - I have no understanding why anyone would say this about me :rolleyes1

Take good care of you and yours, Kevin

Welcome Traxbycat!!!

Glad you are joining us on October 15th and before!! I hope you never have to be an "Official Member" of the Molar Express, just an "Honorary" one. I will be continuing my "cruise director" status tomorrow morning by getting a crown for the tooth I broke on a Tic Tac. That Tic Tac will cost me about $400.00(Inusrance will pick up the rest)!! Hope you will be meeting with us on Sunday morning of the cruise and will play tag with us!!

Kevin....Thanks for thinking about the Tag game rules!! It sounds like fun to me. I already have a few ideas in my head for my "leave behinds". I hope they don't get swiped by some other passenger. :maleficen

How do the "leave behinds" get attached to the tag magnet? Is there a door handle we can attach it to?

74 more days for us!! Have to wait until tomorrow to make ressies. I tried this morning, but it was a no go. I strategically made my dentist appointment and another doctors appointment tomorrow morning so I can play on the computer longer in the morning rather than leaving for work. I'm only worried about Palo. I don't believe we will get in. Seems like there have been problems lately with that part of the ressie section.

Ok...this got really long. Sorry!!!
Have a great Sunday everyone. 98 predicted for SE Wisconsin today!! YUCK!!!!

Nancy

Ok...here's one more "First Timer" question.

{Picture it....Caribbean Sea, 2005}...(Sorry, I'm a Golden Girls nut) :flower:

Let's say we get the dining rotation we requested...APLAPLA (puts us in the least fancy place for Formal Night). That means our Character Breakfast would be on Sunday (same day as our DIS meet). We have late dining. What time is our Character Breakfast(C.B.) then?

We will not go to the C.B. if it interupts our DISmeet.

I know we have another chance to go to the C.B. Should be on Wednesday. Not sure if Wednesday is a "In Port" day or not. What happens then? Do they still have C.B.'s on "In Port" days?

Our last rotation would be Friday night in Animators Palate. Is there a C.B. on Saturday morning during disembarkation?

I'm sure someone here will know my answers. You guys are too good to me!!

Thanks,
Nancy :wave2:

OH – and yes…if Paul offers Brenda a Cub’s hat….Brenda not only needs to bring it…she needs to wear it.

Can't you just see what could happen in a situation like that - it would be like something out of the Wizard of Oz: I'm melting!! I'm melting!! :teeth:

No wonder they call you spoon, Kevin...stirring the pot with suggestions like that!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I guess that means DH and I will have to bring an extra Cardinals hat...fairplay and all!

So, we probably need to start a list of who's planning on playing tag and list the "rulez" for dumby's like me... :teeth:

Nancy - no character breakfast on disembarkation morning or mornings in port - they are offered only on the mornings that the ship is at sea...Sunday, Monday and Thursday for both Western and Eastern cruises. We had late seating on our cruise last year and our character breakfast was at 9:45 AM. And don't worry about Palo...I'm sure it will work out fine...just keep us posted and good luck with the crown.

BTW - I thought we were planning the DISmeet for about 1PM at the Promenade lounge on Sunday...did I get my floss tangled with another thread?

Welcome to the Molar Express, Traxbycat! As first mate I'd like to extend my hopes that your membership remains honorary rather than official...too many of us here have experienced broken teeth this year. When you stop and think about the number of crowns on this thread...why, we're practically royalty! And most importantly... four out of five dentists surveyed recommended this cruise for their patients! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hello Everyone. I found this board about a month ago and started reading it. It was so interesting we ended up booking our first Disney cruise for Oct. 15th. I just found this thread and have read the last several pages. There is SO much to learn and so little time to do it in. I will go back to page one and start catching up. Thanks to everyone for all of the great advice you have posted for newbies. :)
