October 15, 2005 anyone?

Congratulations on the upgrade, Brenda! You probably received it as a reward for being such a strong dental-care advocate! :teeth:

Hey, everybody...Another milestone today:

 125 Days and Counting!

Well we are all set now - we booked our flights!!!! :cool1:

Leaving out of Buffalo on 10/13/05 going to Jacksonville for an early visit. Then off to Orlando on Friday to the Saratoga Springs and party in the HooHaa Suite!!! :sunny:

124 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!
:earsboy: :earsgirl:

Man, there are so many of us going on this trip that we should get some sort of group discount! At the very least, we should be given our own floor! *laugh*

Think the Disney people would have a heart attack if we ALL linked our reservations for dinner? :)

I can see that conversation now...."Hi! We'd like a table for 80, please? :)"

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Katie turned three on June 1st, and we had her party last weekend. We had 12 kids, three years and under (and their parents!) at Build-a-Bear and then at the Rainforest Cafe. It was a lot of fun, and Katie had a blast!

This weekend, my best friend had a ocean theme party for her son who turned one, so we did that then the whole group went swimming at their pool (well, except for the birthday boy, who needed a nap!). I swear, if I eat anymore Cake, I am likely to explode.:)

I would love a veranda, but we also are not in the room too much at all. I booked one of the SPR rooms on deck 5. Probably won't get an upgrade since I requested a certain room #. That is ok.

Very good for you guys though! Cat 4! I can't even imagine! :cool1:

Hope everyone had a good weekend! :goodvibes

Thanks everybody! I hope the upgrade fairy pays a visit to more of us sailing on the Molar Express.

So, now that we are edging ever-closer to our sail date, has anyone thought about the best way we can have ourselves a DISmeet? I'd love to get together and compare dental work with the rest of you fine folks. :teeth:

Brenda

Brenda,

Someone had mentioned meeting at the pool the night before at the Radisson? We are actually staying at Port Canaveral the night before now instead of WDW so that would work for us. We will probably go to dinner at Grills and then we could swing by the Radisson. :confused3 There is also a nice little park area next to Grills that you can watch the Cruise ships sail. Maybe some of us could even meet there. I know a couple ships go out that Friday evening???

Deck 10 at the Sail a way would be fun,but busy I am sure. One of the Sea days would be good too?? I do hope I get to meet some of you. Heck we may all be in line together if we all get to port early that day. I know we plan too.

I just can't believe how fast this Summer is flying by.

We have to figure something out before we all leave town.

Michelle,
DH and I are going to be at Universal Thursday and Friday, so we won't be able to meet up with you guys before the 15th. Too bad, sounds like Friday night would have been fun.

We have a pick-up scheduled for 10AM Saturday morning, so based on our experience last year I am assuming that we should be in Port Canaveral by 11AM unless something unexpected happens.

Maybe we could all wear something that would be recognizable to the members of this thread so that we could pick each other out of the crowd? At least then we could say hello to each other.

B.

That would be a good idea to wear something like a colored ribbon on our clothes or something??

You will have fun at Universal. We were going to do WDW 2 days before, but decided not too since I just got back and we have a 7 night trip planned for next May with Neice and Nephew. So I will be ok. :goodvibes

We need some ideas folks.... :cloud9:

Bye

STL to MCO shows a $99 internet sale one way.....hmmmmmm...I just think I may wait it out a bit longer and hope for $79??? :cool1:

Atleast things are looking better concerning Airfare. Some of you waiting for Southwest better check. Other cities start from $29 to $99 and it is only a limited time. Sale started today!!!!! :wizard:

Good luck all! :goodvibes

I had the chance to BUF to MCO for 97 or 99 last week and decided to wait as well....

how about we all wear full body suits shaped like a tooth?
me, I'll just look for the RedBird hats... :earboy2:

Later,
Paul

Speaking of airfare... I booked Delta round trip out of Kansas City for $183. I thought it was a good deal. We would prefer to fly out of Lincoln, NE - but the price almost doubles. We will arrive in Orlando on the 14th at around 11:30 pm. Yikes :earseek: I booked the airport Hyatt for that night.
It's been so long since I was on the boards my grandma just passed and we've spent every free minute this last month with her.
I can't remember if I posted that I got an upgrade to a category 5 room 7118. We were originally booked in 7120, which I had requested. But we'll take the upgrade. I also booked rooms at Coronada Springs for two nights following the cruise. Wish we could stay longer. I wanted to stay at the French Quarter, but my DS chose Coronada Springs because it listed two arcades. I told him that with only three days at Disney, we wouldn't be spending much time at the hotel. Also, I wanted to ask if anyone has attended the Halloween event at the Magic Kingdom.
Thanks,
Marnie

Marnie, ~Just wanted to say "Congrats" on the upgrade & that I'm sorry about your Grandma.

As far as airfare is concerned. We are still looking. My Dh leaves for Guam July 9th & that should maybe give us enough frequent flyer miles if not for the both of us than maybe just for one of us. We will see. :confused3

We have never done the the Halloween party, but I have heard it's alot of fun. :)

I'm sorry about your Grandma, Marnie.

Brenda and Marnie, congrats on your upgrades!!! Anyone else doing the upgrade dance? :cool1:

Sara

Marnie,

We did the Halloween party on Halloween night 2003 and it was a blast, but next time I would not pick October 31! It was SOLD OUT,but we still had a great time and by 10:00pm things really thined out.

I would say any of the other parties would be great. :cool1: 2nd Parade is much less crowded than the first one. Make sure to get your picture taken. You can get into the party early at 4:00 pm. Loved the whole atmosphere and the "Headless Horseman" running his horse down Mainstreet USA! Gave me goosebumps!

Wish we could go this year, but no party on the Friday night before the cruise. That is what I was hoping for. Won't get into town on time for Thursday's party. So we are just heading to Cape Canaveral for the night before.

You should go to the party if you can. :goodvibes

Marnie,

What a coincidence! We were originally booked in 7118. When I added my grandmother to our trip last month, it put us up to four people in the room and I guess 7118 only accommodates three, so we were moved to 7098. Our move must have been your good fortune! Of course, the fourth person in the room is our 18 month old, so he doesn't really need a bed of his own, but whatever.

Sara & Jen - Thanks.

Michelle - What exactly takes place at the Halloween Party? Is it similar to MVMCP? We've been to that twice. Did you dress up when you went? I have a Maleificent costume, but that would be just one more thing for me to pack.

So, I've missed a few pages or two... Have we decided if we are going to wear ribbons, buttons, or maybe mickey heads? :earsboy:

Anthything else I've missed out on?

Paige - Thanks for the upgrade!!!! :rotfl:

It was so fun. There was 10 of us and we all dressed up...Adults and kids and we had the best time. It is similair to the MVMCP. Several different things going on at different times. You will get the info when you go in. 2 parades and a picture just like the Christmas party. It is decorated so well for Halloween and the music is perfect. Special Fireworks and Parade.
I think Tomorrowland had music and dancing in one area and the kids have different locations to get candy. Lines for rides are never bad,but seems like the mainstreet area stays pretty busy all night long.

We are all still trying to decide where to meet. I think we should wear maybe a Red ribbon on our clothes to let others know we are from this thread?? Someone talked about pins and if we get them designed I will buy a couple.
Have any ideas on a meeting place for all of us?? Sail a way party may be to hectic? What do you think about one of the SEA days?

Do you guys see that a child has died on Mission space at Epcot? It happened yesterday?? 4 year old little boy! How sad... :sad2:

I can't even imagine what I would do? :sad2:

Marnie, congrats on the upgrade; so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

The Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom is a blast - DH and I have gone twice in the last two years. The whole place is decorated for Halloween with spooky lighting and music - the amount of work and attention to detail that goes into this production is just amazing. The most popular rides are open until midnight, kids (big ones too, like me and DH) can trick or treat through the park, guests wear costumes, there is a Halloween parade with everyone's favorite characters, there are fireworks, and other stuff that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

If you have a chance to go you really should attend...it's loads of fun!!

A note of advice - it is more crowded earlier in the evening. Last year we went on a Wednesday evening around 8:30 and the place was practically deserted (this was the 19th or 20th of October, I can't remember which).

Brenda

Are the decorations for MNSSHP funny spooky or a bit scary? Is a timid three year old going to be scared? Katie isn't scared of much at all, but one of the other kiddies going with us is.

As far as meeting, in the past we have had meets during the sailaway party and it was always very hectic with very little time. I'd recommend against that. Everyone wants to be with their families, etc..... What about lunch at seaon Sunday? I wonder if we could actually arrange to have a few tables on hold for us with Disney? I've never tried that, so I am not sure.

As far as recognizing each other....In the past, we've gone with the lime green ribbons, but depending on where people wear them, they can be hard to see. I think a pin is a GREAT idea. If we can't get one made, doesn't the DIS board have a lime green one that they sell?

Another thing that we have done in the past, is that we've made a list of people who want to participate, and everyone who does has brought enough post cards for everyone who wanted to take part. THe post cards were local to the person bringing them, and some people even wrote some fun facts, etc, about the area that they lived in. They are just passed out at the meet! Did that make any sense? Kind of a cool way to see where everyone is from!

DH and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary today!! :cloud9:
He sent me 25 long stem roses to work today. All different colors. I also got an ivy plant yesterday "just because". Actually, I go for my cancer check up in another month and I've been a little sad and worried, so he's just trying to cheer me up a bit. :love2:

This cruise is our gift to each other. We went out for a long lunch today and talked about our wedding. Can you imagine....we paid only $3.75 per plate for the dinner back in 1980. We had 350 guests including kids. We had chicken, Hungarian sausage, ham, turkey, swiss steak, and stuffed cabbage. Along with soup, a salad, rice, mashed potatoes/gravy, stuffing, corn, peas and carrots, rolls with butter and fruit salad. We had 40 different tortes for dessert and the wedding cake was cut up at midnight and the guests took it home. Oh yeah....open bar all night!! At midnight we had another meal of leftovers. I can only imagine what that might cost today!!!

Told our kids about all that tonight and DD said she wants the same.

Ok...gotta go and buy those lottery tickets.

Later friends,
Nancy & Chuck :love2:
