October 15, 2005 anyone?

I know some of you have done the DCL Excursions before, but I never have. 3 cruises and always ventured out on my own. This time I plan on trying one....The 5 Star St.John Snorkel and Beach day! :sunny:
When we book the trip do we have to pay it in full at that time or do you just put a deposit down??? Should we book asap or wait till we board the ship? :confused3 I saw on our Yahoo Group someone asked if we can book at 90 days out since we don't have to pay our trip off till 45 days??

I have read the trip we want is very popular. I guess if you pay it ahead of time that is just one more expense out of the way...

Thanks for any help. :goodvibes

Michelle,
when you book your excursion(s) through DCL you just call the special services number (it's on the DCL website), give them your reservation number and tell them which excursion you want. If there is more than one time available they'll ask you your preference. The cost will be charged to your room and you'll see the charges on your account list the day you disembark the ship.

We booked one of our October excursions (last year's cruise) in August and booked the parasailing for CC in September (just about a month in advance). I prefer to book excursions before embarkation just to be on the safe side, and that way you already have your excursion tickets waiting for you in your stateroom.

Have a good weekend!

Brenda :goodvibes

Then as soon as we can I am going to reserve that excursion to St.John! :cool1: :cool1:

You guys all have a nice weekend! :sunny:

Supposed to be nice here tomorrow....50's and Sunshine!! I am so ready for Springtime.... :flower:

Going to see the "Phantom of the Opera" Movie tonight!! Don't ask me how many times I have seen it!!!! :rolleyes1 I just love the Phantom!
I know.......I have issues!

We did this on the last cruise before we had kiddies. You will LOVE it. The beach area they take you too is a place out of a magazine. It is beautiful!

I would definatly book it the minute that you can. As I recall, they do it twice. One leaves in the morning and the other in the afternoon. We did the afternoon one, but if I had it to do all over again, we would switch to morning. That way, we'd have a little more time to see the town.

So has anyone determined when we can book our excursions??? Guess I could ask my TA? :confused3
Our final payment is not due till August because of when we booked. I know things have changed since then and final payment is due sooner now. I like paying these trips off early. Then you have time to save for spending money!
We have a huge change jar we are filling up!!

I am definetly going to book the St.John trip for morning. Sounds great!

I have been looking at the Spa treatments. :cloud9: I think I want to try the Lime and Sea Salt glow..... :sunny:

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I haven't done that one! We always get the couples massage, and I've done the facial. It was nice, but I hate the whole 'selling products' thing.

I did that Ocean Wrap once, but I didn't get anything out of it. Other people seem to love it though. Same with the Surial Bath. It seems that my husband and I were in the minority of people who thought that it wasn't the greatest thing in the world.

That lime and Ginger Sea salt thing looks nice!

I have to admit - DH and I loved the Surial Bath (we went over our time limit - ;) ) and are definitely planning on doing it again in October. I am a spa junkie and I love to try things that aren't offered at the spa I frequent here at home. We were also big fans of the Rainforest and spent at least an hour a day in there - I want one of those heated loungers for my house!! :teeth:

I will offer a caution on the lime & sea salt glow - with any kind of an exfoliation treatment your skin will be extra sensitive for a few days, especially to the sun. If you're a sunbather be extra careful if you decide to have this treatment.

I was just at the spa yesterday... I wish I was there right now. :cool1:

Have a good day, everybody.

Yeah, I totally know that we are in the minority! I just thought that it was too hot and uncomfortable! The other stuff that happens there, we could do in our cabin without paying for it!

Ahh well, we are freakish, I guess. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yeah Brenda I think when I had the Aroma Spa wrap last time they told me that I should stay out of the sun for 24 hours. If I do the Ginger and Lime Salt glow I will do it in the afternoon and then use some sunscreen. My skin tans pretty easy and so hopefully I won't have a problem. I will be sure to ask questions before I book it... :flower: I was also looking at the Spa Tester package. That sounded good. :goodvibes I want to do something!!

We did the spa taster as part of the REAS last year (they actually give you a choice of the couples massage or the spa taster, so we took the taster) and it was quite nice. We did ours around 4:30 on the Friday we left Castaway Cay, so it was a nice way to end the cruise and very relaxing. :goodvibes

Schmoogrrrl: The other stuff that happens there, we could do in our cabin without paying for it!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I can't disagree with that!! :teeth:

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
You guys are cracking me up! :rotfl2: Yeah, I'm just jealous 'cause DH wont try the surial bath. I think he agrees with Schmoogrrrl! :rotfl: The only spa I've done is the facial and I agree, the sales pitch was a pain. Although, I really liked the way my skin felt afterwards.

Changing the subject...to book excursions, I think you you can book 90 days out if you are paid in full. I've heard good things about the 5 star sail/snorkel, too. We will probably do a day sail in St. Thomas and beach it on our own in St. Martin. (St. Martin is my b-day :earsgirl: )

Welcome, Busymom! In the past, we have used Tiffany Town Car. (two years ago) More recently, FL Tours, the one that sponsors the DIS. No complaints with either. I think we will be taking the Disney bus this cruise. Having never been on it, the kids may enjoy it. Speaking of kids, I'm trying to come up with a clever way to tell them about the cruise. I think I'll wait until summer...if I can keep my mouth shut!!!! ;)

Have a good week!

Sara

I was on the boards today during "My Lunch"!! That's right...my lunch! LOL
I was reading about two stables that offer horseback riding on the beach and even a swim with the horses in the Sea on the 2 hour ride. :rotfl:

We have horses and can ride everyday, but not on the beach like this! I may have to check this out.... I looked at one website for Lucky Stables and it looked great and the offer different rides for experienced riders. That is good they take that into consideration... I think this would be a great experience for us... We could do the 2 hour ride in the morning and then go to the beach for the rest of the day....

I added a photo of Josie and her horse Toby to our photo folder...That Yahoo group is a fun idea...Glad Paul did that! :goodvibes

So Brenda you liked the Spa Taster.....That is a definite option.

Just glad February is over!!! Spring is almost here!!! :flower:

The spa taster was great - 30 minutes of massage (just the backside - legs, arms, back, and neck) followed by a 30 minute facial. Just the right amount of time when you don't really know what you want. :)

I wish they offered a hot stone massage on board. I've been wanting to try one of those for the longest time - a friend of mine went to an Arizona spa in November and had one as part of her treatment plan and she's still raving about it. I guess I could have DH heat some rocks in the fireplace one night and try a homemade massage, but something tells me it wouldn't be the same! :teeth:

Back to work - lots of stuff piling up this week.

B.

Michelle, horseback riding on the beach sounds like alot of fun. I always wanted to do that & we almost did when we were in Cozumel, but we decided it would probably be to hard to do with the 3 kids so we opted for the beach. :sunny:

We also had the REAS package & did the spa taster. My DH has had a massage before as a gift I gave him @ a local spa, but it was my first massage experience. I really enjoyed it along with the facial and want to do the spa taster again along with trying the surial bath. :) They gave us a "sales pitch" too, but they weren't pushy at all. I have heard that they can be, but our experience all around was very nice.

Brenda,
They offered that stone massage on the RCL cruise I was on in Jan. Sounded wonderful!!

I like the idea of the man warming the stones in the fireplace!! :goodvibes Let us know if this works!!!

I remember them pushing the products, but I just took their suggestions and said I may come back later...NOT! :rotfl:

Jen,
I looked into the riding in Cozumel too,but found out that they no longer let you ride on the beach. Only through the jungle areas. So I passed cause I can ride in the woods anytime... I want to ride on the beach and taking the horses for a swim sounds awesome. I looked at the website and the area looks so beautiful. :sunny: I may check prices..They were not listed.

I am making another payment on our cruise with my Disney Visa this week. I have almost 100 points earned..I plan on paying for our St.John excursion or my Spa treatment with those points.. :cool1:

Ok, I better get working too...

Hello!...Boom...Boom...Boom....Is this thing on?

Whew, that was close...we were about to drop back to page three on the cruise meets board.

Yesterday, I wrapped up a week's worth of business in Anaheim. Prior to my return to NC tomorrow, I felt obligated ( :teeth: ) to take a day away from work and spend a day where it all began. There was a bit of rain this morning, but even a rainy day at Disney trumps a day most anywhere else.

To stay current in my skills as an officer on the Molar Express, I did take the opportunity to put out to sea while I was there. My ship had a run-with some rather unsavory characters ( pirate: ), but everything worked out OK in the end. (Now that bobsled ride was another matter... )

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Bueller...? Bueller...? Bueller...? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was out of town on business during the later part of last week...were the rest of you as swamped with work as I was? Our thread is beginning to dangle here on page two.

I just came back from my coronation...unfortunately this crown didn't come with any precious gems and it was not a pleasant experience...ouch!! No pain relief - just poking and pushing and scraping and gouging. Right about now I could use one of those DCL drinks of the day...with extra alcohol thank you very much. :teeth:

Hope all is well with the rest of you (and your teeth!).

Ouch! I hope you are better soon! That reminds me that I need to make myself a dental appt. Of course, after reading here, I am terrified to do it!

We've been pretty busy around here. Katie has reached the terrible twos at 2.9 months, so I am praying that it ends at three. *laugh* She is still the sweetest girl, but a little nutty! My husband is in bed sick, and playgroup is at my house this week, which means cleaning, cloroxing the toys, and cooking for lunch! Busy, busy, busy!

:wave2: Spring is almost here!! :flower: :sunny: :flower:

We have been busy too..This weekend we are headed to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson Mo...So that will be nice!
DD is off school Thursday and Friday this week. :rotfl: We are going to "Finding Nemo on Ice" :fish: Thursday night. I can't wait! :cool1: Then we leave for Branson Friday morning.

I have some friends in Florida that want DD and I too book a Wonder sailing for October 2006. So I guess I will be booking another cruise while on board the Magic. Hope they give us some deals to rebook. We are looking at booking the 10-15-06 cruise. :goodvibes I think I will also take DD to the MNSSHP while down there. Ok...I am getting ahead of myself~~!!~~ I still have to finish paying for this years cruise. :teeth:

Bye! :wave2:

Molar Express update:

So DW Mollie just happens to be the 1% of people that have problems with their root canal. Dentist did the prep work last Wednesday... she had pain all weekend and up to this yesterday's appointment. Dentist looked in and discovered that "Aha" instead of 3 roots she has 4 and he deadened only 3 so one was still in there.... ouch.... so tady she still is in pain.. she got a script for acetaminaphin + codiene (yum)... oh and the Dentist is a bit of a new guy, and when it comes to numbing, he isn't as gentle as our previous doc who had perfected the technique of numbing w/o trauma pain after it wore off...

anyway... how are the other Molar Express members doing?

Later,
Paul

BTW: gotta love the thread about: "Can I bring my Gamecube and plug it into the TV?"
