October 15, 2005 anyone?

I guess I should have warned everyone that I have a truly awful sense of humor. :teeth:

Not a problem. I come from a fine family tradition of bad punners. :)

I hope everyones teeth are ok! :teeth: How was Valentines  weekend?Ours was great....The hotel and the restaurant were very nice and the hotel gave us a great box of Chocolates, but a very dry bottle of wine! So I did not drink much of it.

Shmoogrrl, I saw you had a post about weather in October. We sailed once on Nov 2 and the Other was Oct 26 and our weather has always been fabulous!! :sunny: Very warm, but not hot!! Seas always calm and wonderful! I just hope we get that same experience this year. Heck we have been to Orlando every October for the past 3 years and it is just great! :cloud9:

Have you read those post about the people being bored and unhappy. I can't imagine being bored! I love sitting around the pool while DD plays. Sometimes it is nice to have nothing to do. I don't get into the Bingo and things like that...I am happy to eat Ice cream and lay out or swim. :goodvibes That one post made it sound like her child was really misbehaved if the club was the one requesting he be picked up. My DD was in on our first cruise at age 4 and I walked in to check on her and this mean boy was in the tunnel with her on that pirate ship and he was bending her leg backwards and she was screaming.... I ran over there and about that time she kicked him in the head with her other foot and then he was crying???? :sad2: What was I supposed to do??? She was just defending herself...I saw it. Anyway the counselers stepped in and took care of him and I checked her out. You can' avoid some of those incidents, but that kid was acting up and being mean everytime I walked in. I hope they get those kids out after a while! :confused3

I guess everyone can't love DCL!! I am glad though cause with only 2 ships the prices are already high enough! :thewave: We will just keep it for our selves!! Have a nice day everyone!

I just wanted to wish everyone a "Happy Valentines" day!!! Hope everyone has a lovely day & that everyone who is part of the "molar express" is doing well. :teeth:

I agree with you Michelle, I'm happy just relaxing by the pool, listening to the music, a trip to the spa, & a really good book. My DH & I just loved our cruise so it's sad to see that some people had a disappointing time. Oh well. :) I will say though, I am a little concerned about the immigration in St Thomas. My DH & I are thinking of maybe doing the Doubloon sail & snorkel & it starts @ 8:15am. I guess it will just be an early morning for us. We can handle that. ;)

Everyone, have a very good day!!!

Oybolshoi, self-appointed first mate of the SS Molar Express, checking in! :teeth:

My mouth and I are much happier today than we were on Friday - thank goodness. I have to agree with Michelle and Jen - I loved being "bored" on our cruise. Lounging by the pool, sleeping in the rainforest room, napping on the verandah ( I'm picking up a theme here... :p )... what bliss. Cannot wait to disconnect like that again in October.

Paul, I was wondering if it's also possible to set up a poll in the yahoo group? Maybe as we get closer to sail date we could come up with some choices for a DISmeet and then let everyone vote on it? Just a thought...

Happy Valentines!

Brenda

Good idea, Brenda!
If you guy's are anything like me. I have a graph made up in my computer of the day's that we are @ sea & the days that we are in port. I then slot in the what we want to do like we want to go to Palo's on formal night (Sunday). So, for instance... If hypotheticaly we do do a DISmeet for brunch @ Palo's I wouldn't want to have a spa appt. booked at the same time. So, I agree with you Brenda. Good thought! :)

~Jen :flower:

Am I glad Valentines day is over. A lot of work but at least I made enough money to pay for the cruise and a cocktail or 2. I have been a florist for 23 years, since I was 15 so I don't know what it's like to enjoy Valentines day. No fun for Karen either she did her own job this morning then rest of day in shop with me.
Hope the weather in Castaway Cay is better than last Oct, went out snorkelling, about 50 yards out and they called us back because of storm just got back on ship storm was that bad.

Good to know about the weather. I assumed that it would still be nice, but I remembered our cruise in February and while it was nice out, it was pretty cold in the pools and stuff.

DH and I have made October our official vacation in Florida month because the weather has been ideal. And the weather on our cruise in October 2004 was, dare I say, perfect. Warm, but not hot, even in Mexico. Very little rain, amazingly calm seas, and only one really windy day (that was at sea). The water at Castaway Cay was very cold, however, and I can only assume that was because the island is in the Atlantic stream and at the end of October is pulling down cooler water from the north atlantic stream. The water in Mexico was glorious...like being in a warm bath that never grows cold... :cloud9:

I hope I haven't jinxed us now with all this talk of great October weather, but I think we'll be OK. Besides, my birthday is in October so the weather has to cooperate! ;)

BTW - anybody here know what the water temps are like in October on the Eastern intinerary?

water temps: when your from the north, does it matter? anything above 50 degree water temps are warm! :rotfl2:

I think I've decided that we're going to try to fly in on Friday night.... read the poll thread about night before or day of and changed my mind.... I have almost enough Marriots rewards points to get a night at the one of the MCO Airport Marriott family hotels... and can get a non-stop from BUF to MCO in the evening... in the end it saves me some money because we would normally drive up to Buffalo the night before and stay at a hotel near the airport... of course we'll still have to pay for parking in BUF... there is some reasoning to my madness... I think :)

BTW: the poll is up on the yahoo group.... bring your water skis??

have a good day!!

Point well taken! But I'm one of those weirdos who's always cold, so I guess I'd better bring my hot water bottle just in case. :)

Have a good day, everyone. I guess I'll catch up on Friday night - I've got a work retreat scheduled through Friday afternoon (no more goofing around on the net for the next 48 hours... ;) )

That is one reason I don't really like the CruiseCritic board. They are so snotty sometimes. :guilty: I don't know why people have to be that way? :confused3 These boards are supposed to be helpful. That is a shame, but like you all have stated we have a very easy going friendly group!

I told my Mom I have found people as crazy as me!!!! :jumping1: She just shakes her head.... My BF told me again that she may cancel if they decide to build a new house! UGH! :sad2: At this point I don't even care...I told her she is the one that will miss out. I told her I won't be lonely. :grouphug:

Have a good day everyone! :sunny: We had 74 degrees yesterday in St.Louis! It was incredible............. :sunny: :cool1: :sunny: I am ready for Spring! :flower:

I hate to hear the DIS members turning so mean!
The sad thing is that I don't think that the "combatants" are really mean-spirited. The lack of facial expression (despite our emoticons :earsboy: ) and vocal nuances leaves more room for misunderstandings with email communications. And when sitting behind the relative anonymity of a keyboard and internet connection, many people tend to quickly throw out opinions that sound a bit more judgemental than things they would be likely to say in a face-to-face conversation. The next thing you know, emotions get out of control... :(

I told my Mom I have found people as crazy as me!!!!
But are we the crazy ones, or are they? :crazy2: ("Yes, we are going to Disney World again this year. Yes, we did go last year, and the year before that, and ... What's your point?"...Stop me if you've ever had this conversation with family, friends, co-workers, etc. :earboy2: )

:cold: I'm sooooooo jealous Michelle! We are a balmy 21 degrees here in a cold, windy Minnesota. I'm so looking forward to 230+ days from now. me, DH,up on deck 9 or 10 w/ a tropical drink, a book, soaking up the rays. Wait a minute. It's Wednesday, We will be somewhere on a tropical Island called St. Thomas soaking up the ray's. :sunny: :smooth: :cloud9:

See I'm just as crazy! :crazy2:

~Jen :flower:

They are the crazy  ones! They just don't get it....... :cool1: That's ok........Guess I am just a kid at heart. I even cry at the Disney on Ice shows!! We are going to Finding Nemo on Ice March 10 and I can't wait! :fish: :fish: :fish:

Well Jenmack,
We cooled back down to the 40's today and that is where we will stay for a while,But that 70 degree was a nice treat for Febuary. :cool1:

Just think it won't be long and we will be under 200 days!! We will have to celebrate! :cheer2:

 Could someone help this (me) computer illiterate person with the yahoo site? I would love to see pics. I'll try to post some of our family. DH will obviously have to help me!!!

We had nice weather yesterday, too. Didn't last long. :(

Have a great week!

Sara

well - hopefull you all won't flame me...today was a cloudy 70+ degrees. We are expecting rain....so, will expect our temps tomorrow and the weekend to be in the 60's. Yes, I desirve to get my "dig's" in during the Winter...you all will have an 'open shot' at me during our hundred-teens summer.

Hey Sara...please jump into the Yahoo groups. The first 'Adult beverage' with a paper umbrella to Paul...on me. His hard work on setting this up is much appreciated. I believe...I heard cheers of...Paul's the man. You need to click the below link and register with Yahoo (yes, this is painful)...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCL-October-15-cruisers

After you register, you will be pointed to the web site to input info on yourself and to upload photos of you/yours. we look forward in welcoming you...

Take good care, Kevin

Happy Friday everyone! I just got home about 15 minutes ago from a management retreat that started yesterday around noon. I am wiped out - thank goodness for three-day weekends (I bow to the genius behind federal holidays). I don't know if anyone else on this thread works in banking / finance, but I've been in the industry now for about 13 years and I've yet to see a thirstier bunch of lushes...especially when senior management is footing the bar bill. :teeth:

Hope all is well - I had to post something because we were in danger of dropping back to page three! Can't let the SS Molar Express sink out of sight, can we?

General question for the board: Would anyone else be interested in adding something to the Yahoo Group about excursions? I was just thinking it might be nice to know who's doing what in case some of us are doing the same thing at the same time - sometimes it's nice to see a "familiar" friendly face on those excursions. Or maybe someone has sailed this intinerary before and can offer some advice about an excursion - it might be nice to have it all in one place where it's more accessible than this thread.

Sorry Paul if I'm creating more work for you - are you a beer man? We'll hook you up with some suds on the ship. ;)

Brenda

Happy Friday to you too!

Before I had my Daughter, I worked at a Non-profit and I have never seen such a bunch of lushes. They were getting drunk at any given opportunity!

I am so glad that it is Friday! I rear ended someone (a Mercedes! Just my luck!) on Wednesday and tore up my car. It is fixable, but it is going to cost moe to fix it than the car is worth, so the insurance company is probably just going to write it off. Since it is fixable though, we will probably just pay to get it fixed, get rid of my husbands horribly old and falling apart car and tomorrow we are going Minivan shopping! I am finally going to live my Soccer Mom dream! :rotfl:

On the cruise front, I think an Excursion list would be great! I don't have a clue if we will take any since we have little kiddies, but maybe we'll do some kid swapping with our other friends to get to do something! My Daughter is obsessed with the Mickey boat. When we were on the boat on 2003 (she was 10 months old) we got her the little Matchbox size ship and she carries that thing around all the time. She also likes to watch the planning video!

well... here's the scoop.. I added links to www.shoretrips.com for the 3 islands.. I'm not shore (ha ha) if they are Disney sanctioned excursions... Actually from reading posts on their site, it seems that they aren't... they may be the same excursions but you can book either Disney or this website.... the positive of shortrips might be you don't end up with 100 people in your tour.... but I'm not... shore... :teeth: I just kinda ran onto the website... I also found the order form for the disney excursions and will put that in the file directory... and you'll also find a database set up for excursions.. not really much to it... but it's a start... please tell me if there's anything else I can add to it...

BTW: I shore am that I am not a lush (or in any way lush-ess)... In fact, the before mentioned brewski's or "adult drinks" may be replaced with something of the specialty coffee family... ;)

gotta luv the topless thread.... couldn't help but think about the new Teen hangout being in the stack... overlooking the Adult pool (maybe I'm wrong.. it may be overlooking the goofy pool)...

Glad SouthWest finally released dates out to August... now the saga will be continued going out into the Fall...

Hope you shore have a good weekend!
Paul

Paul, I'd be happy to join you at the Cove Cafe for one of their coffee confections...addicted doesn't begin to describe my state of mind when it comes to their mochachinos! Keep it up with those awful puns and I may buy a second round!! :teeth:

Thanks again for helping us all with this - I think it's been a great extra tool.

Shmoogrrrl - good luck on the vehicle front. Sorry to hear about the accident but I'm pleased to assume (from what you posted) that no one was injured.
