October 15, 2005 anyone?

Nancy,
You're also a Parrothead??!! I think I've found the perfect tablemates for sure! :cloud9:

I'm not crazy about licorice so I'll probably pass on that one. Have you tried any of the others? I thought I saw a passion-fruit one listed on the company's web site...that sounds pretty darn good right about now. :goodvibes

I can't remember what I've tried other than the Guavaberry and the Anis.:) I'm sure that it is all good, though!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

I'm really glad there will be other kids Ethan will "know" in the Oceaneer's Club....hopefully, we will have the chance to meet many of you upon departure.

I see alot of people from NJ............we're from Jersey too........born and raised in the Amboy area and now living in Mt Laurel, near Philly........maybe some of us will be on the same flight Saturday morning :cool1:

We're getting revved for fun..............did I see somewhere on here that there is a margarita tasting? I'M THERE!! :dancer:

I know two people in Mt. Laurel--one from a very prominent family, another part of a small Waldorf homeschool group.

Good evening to all...

Wayne...safe travel to you and yours. Wishing you a quick hop over the pond.

congrats to our Cardinal and Braves fans...it's gonna be great to be in the middle of the Atlantic (period)...AND watching playoff baseball is a cool extra. It would be even better...if the D-backs were still in it...OK - I can dream. Maybe we can talk them into showing a game on the "Jumbo-tron" style tv newly installed on deck 9. I can see it now.

With all the talk about alcohol...appears we might need to reserve a second person to deliver us 'adult beverages' during our Dis-meets...OK - maybe a third.

I got a pretty cool surprise this afternoon. My 'second' boss came in from Northern California for a regional meeting. Thought it was strange he wanted to have lunch at 'the mall'. Well...now I know why - when we got back to the office, he presented me with an envelope of Disney Dollars. How cool is that!!! Normally, lunch with him means that I get more work, a headache and a nasty case of heartburn. Again, a nice surprise.

Well...in only 16.5 hours til I get to start my vacation. "

This is my obligitory "ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!" post.

We are leaving tomorrow, and I am nowhere near packed!

Okay, yes I am. I wouldn't be on here otherwise!

Hehehehe.

Sorry. I just had to do that.

Congrats on the disney dollars, Kevin! I wonder if I could just convince my boss to open the vault and let me grab some cash on my way out today? :teeth:

Kathy...get off the DIS and start packing!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just about sprayed my coffee all over the computer when I read that - good one!! :teeth:

Vacation starts in...oh, let's be conservative...10 hours. Yeah baby!

Happy Friday everybody!

Brenda :goodvibes

PS - nine more wins to go (we hope!). GO CARDS :cheer2:

'Wheels Up' in a week!

Happy and safe travels to all who are beginning their journey south. I'll start packing probably on Monday (Columbus day holiday, so no work!). I hope to be there for the DIS meet on Sunday.

If they have a tasting of it at the Guavaberry place, don't miss the 'ANIS.' It is quite yummy. Kind of lke Sambuca, but smoother. I love it straight every once in a while.
I think it's "anise" (pronounced a-neece). Normally I wouldn't dream of correcting anyone's spelling in a public forum, but in this case I can't look at your original spelling without thinking of a certain somewhat icky body part and that does not make me want to sample that beverage. :crazy2:

One week from now I will probably be doing exactly what I'm doing now - posting on this board when I should be getting ready for work and tending to DS who is clearly awake in his crib but sounds like he's having fun so I don't want to mess with him. But in one week and twelve hours, I'll be in Orlando!!! I still can't believe I'm actually going to work for part of the day next Friday. I will be useless. Heck, I plan on being useless all of next week, not just Friday.

I really hope this vacation is all I've dreamed it will be. I'm afraid I'm going to go through some serious post-cruise blues because I've built it up so much (sort of like the post-wedding blues so many folks get). I guess that just means I'll have to plan another one! It would be great to go again in October 2007 when DS is 3.5 and D??? is 1.5.

Brenda,

I watch Dave(My personal Weatherman) on Fox 2 last night and we said the Tropics are going to be VERY ACTIVE through the next 10 days!!! :confused3 So I figure when he said that we were 9 days out from our sail date!! Dang it! This better end!!

We want sunshine!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :wizard:

I should just quit watching the weather and looking at Hurricane central! I torcher myself! :rotfl:

Do all of you have trip insurance????? I usually do and did not buy it this trip..I was thinking about calling today??? :confused3

I am jealous of all of you leaving this weekend!!! My last day at work is next Thursday..Have a nail appt Friday morning and then off to the Airport..
Have any of you been tanning??? I still have some color, but am going a few times this next week. :p

Hi Brenda.
We bought the trip insurance....mostly because my Hubby had gone through some medical issues a while back...(He's fine now) anyways, I specifically asked about weather and hurricanes....It's not covered!!! so if that is your reason for purchasing trip insurance...DON'T Waste your $$$. :confused3

Woke up this am realizing this time next friday we'll be on our way to the airport :cool1:  :cool1:

Thanks Diane,

I figure DCL will take care of things if there is a Hurricane..Which there is not going to be! :goodvibes

Next Firiday I will be headed to my nail appt and then to the airport!! :cool1: :cool1:

I just can't concentrate on anything right now!! I am just ready to go!

Normally I would agree, but I just went and looked at the bottle and it is, in fact, spelled A-N-I-S. :)

Hehehehehe. I am leaving tomorrow, and have my nail and Pedicure appointment today at 3:00. :) We women have to take care of the important things. :)

I am a nice pasty white color and usually avoid the sun (it hates me!) so no tanning for me! My nose is still peeling from a little sun that I got last weekend at a local Pumpkin patch!

I am meant to look like Casper!

to anybody going to "The World" (MK) could one of you please pick up a pair of Golden Mickey Ears from Chapeau? Think they are like $12... DW is hoping to get the VMK code that comes with it...

Thanks,
Paul

At this point while I'm hoping for calm seas and sunny skies... as long as we don't have monster swells at sea I'm going to go with the flow. We did buy insurance from DCL when we booked just for this scenario (that and my Crohns issues) so I'm not too worried about cancellation, which I don't think Disney would do unless they absolutely had to (see last year!).

I'll keep checking the weather channel and NOAA because I'm anal like that and I want to be prepared, but it's crunch time now...nothing to do but move forward and enjoy the trip, regardless of where we end up.

But, man oh man, I'm going to be disappointed if we don't make it to St. Martin! All this discussion of guavaberries has me pumped!! :teeth:

Have a good one - I must be productive today so I'll be avoiding you all until tonight (no hard feelings!).

Brenda :goodvibes

Happy travels to all of you that are leaving this weekend :sunny:

Looks like alot of us will be on planes this time next week!!!!!

My boss had me on the schedule to work next friday.... I think NOT!
I'm gonna be on a plane... I hope NWA has those kinks worked out.

At least at work they are not running the video that had all the parks and scenes from the cruise line anymore, that was killing me!
Everytime it was on that big screen, I was thinking...gonna be there soon...gonna be there soon.....aahhhh, I wanna be there now!

Got lots of funny looks yesterday at work, our DM was in the store and insisted that we all wear tiaras.... yes, I was a princess for the day princess:

I stand corrected, but still an unfortunate name, don't you think? Or perhaps I'm the only one with the gutter mind. We're starting potty training with DS, so I have an abnormal focus on those body parts right now.

So one of my friends suggested what I thought was a good idea. She said if there's any risk that we might have to go to other ports because of weather, I should take a Caribbean tour book with me so I will have info on the places we might potentially go. I think I'll hit the Half Price Bookstore this weekend to find one. The only place I really don't want to miss is Castaway Cay because I can get to the other islands other ways, but the only way I can get to Castaway Cay is DCL.

Oh, another question. How much is beer on board? I got another gem of a comment from DH last night about how mad he was going to be if he paid $5K for a vacation and then they jacked up the price of beer. Boy, he's going to be a joy on this trip.
