Looking at those dates, the deluxe resorts appear to have essentially zero availability, with the exception of a few high-end rooms at the GF.

That seems quite odd 6+ months out, and there's nothing obvious on the calendar that would fully block out so many hotels.

On the phone, a CM speculated that it might just be a glitch - other thoughts?

October is an uber-popular month at WDW, so it's not surprising that there is so little availability. Call and see if they can get you something on the phone that you can't get online.

OP did you try 7 nights instead? Often Disney limits short stays to prevent orphan room vacancies. I rarely can get a value or mod for less than 5 nights (but I'm usually looking under a sale promo, so probably even more limited in the short stays permitted). HTH.

On the DVC side only Saratoga Springs Preferred has studios available.

Some rooms MAY open when Gartner releases their exclusive room blocks back to Disney. But my understanding is that they turn back very few.

They use 5000+ rooms that week, on and off campus.

We have given up on our October trips; it is just too crowded anymore. When we've done deluxe in October, we book a year in advance because it fills up so quickly. Especially at the Epcot resorts (Food & Wine).

October...its the new July. We used to go every year in October, now we go every July4th. Less crowded, no problem getting the specialty room we want and no problem getting said room with a discount.
