October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

By jove I've got it! Using some highly sophisticated equipment, GPS - Satellite recon as well as NASA I do believe to answer in the form of a question: "Where is The Heads Up Bar." Frozen Speciality Drinks, Cocktails and BEER!:cool1:

Kudos and 'mickey claps' go out to - DisneyFamilyTX. Yes...this is The Heads Up Bar. If you find time to 'sneak away' from the family beach...it's worth a walk to take some photos and refreash your beverage.

September 15th sounds good for a drop dead deadline fo participation.

thank you - this offers all ~2 weeks to decide if they would like to play.

Do we need fish extenders? I guess I'm worried that someone will swipe our Dis Tag goodies if they are just left outside our door. Kevin it sounds like you have not used an extender in the past and have been fine.

I've seen examples of fish extenders - some are fantastic and I need to 'tip my cap' to the creativity of others. My personal opinion - I will choose not to use one - if this is something you want to put the effort into - GO FOR IT. I hate saying this - if you leave something outside a cabin...frankly...it's 'at risk' of someone not respecting anothers property. If you are concerned....you can always find a Stateroom Host/ess and request they take your item into the cabin.

Dis Tag?
So I only need one special gift to leave for the cabin above my name?
Bevtoy is correct....it's one gift per participant...so...if 17 people are playing...you will need to bring 17 DIS Tag items

I am going to need to search my photos (borrowed and owned) to find a tough challenge...you guys are too good. but....Sunday is my night to cook (ok...grill)...I've marinated chicken in Jerk spices...hoping for a flair of the Caribbean in tonights dinner --- and need to get off the computer and start - cheers, K

I am so looking forward to this trip. It's been rather crazy here. Will have to re-think the tag thing. May have zero time to get stuff together since we have my Mom in hospital with a knee replacement and hands full with this side of life. One thing for sure--We need a vaca! I love that we can say next month!
:yay:

Hey all! I hope everyone is having a great holiday! I certainly am. It is soo cool to know that come tomorrow we'll be out of the 40's and into the 30's in days til our vacation. :) YIPPPEEEEE! As for the DIS-tag, I won't be using a fish extender. I'll either ask the stewards to take care of it or just risk it. We're going to try to make it small enough to put in the "mailbox". We'll see. Have a great day off all and we'll be talking with ya tomorrow! Kristi

DW and I are looking forward to the Dis meet to get to thank all of you in person for all the valuable info leading up to the cruise. We are cruising with 14 family members so we will be sitting out the Dis Tag, maybe next cruise!

40 days left!!!! :cool1:

Tiger Lily--Good luck to your mother on her recovery.. my MIL recently had her second knee replacement and she is recovering well. I've had three operations on my left knee alone so I feel for her.....

Wanted to pop in and say "HI"...Ok, I said it , I'm done.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I hope everyone is having a good labor day.
Don't forget to watch Fat March. Tonight on ABC @9/8C

We are looking forward to it!:thumbsup2
Its fun to tell people that we are acquainted with you from the DIS board.

My good friend Lily just booked a single cabin to join us on our cruise. I am counting down the days. I don't think we will be joining in on the distag but would definitely like to meet everyone. Our schedules are so hectic up until we leave that I'm hoping I can just get packed and to the airport on time. Anyone else flying in on Friday? We arrive Friday afternoon and are staying at the Four Points Sheraton Cocoa Beach. Has anyone stayed there before?

GO DIAMONDBACKS!!! I'm hoping they make it to the playoffs so I have a good excuse to enjoy a few cold beverages in the sports bar:banana:

Question, do they have the Character Breakfast still on board? Do we need to reserve it? Also, what are the possibilities of reserving Palo once on board? I would really like to enjoy a dinner with just the hubby at least one of the nights.

Looking forward to meeting everyon once on board.

Jodi and the rest of the Cody Gang!!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great and relaxing holiday today. I know I did.

I have a question for whoever created the Cruise-A-Palooza logo. Is there any way I can get a higher resolution of that logo e-mailed to me? My husband and I want to create t-shirts for the family and he asked me to see about getting a higher resolution version of the logo so he could play a little with it. We want to be creative in our t-shirt design. If this is something that can be done, please let me know and I'll send you an e-mail so you have my e-mail address. Thanks muchos! Kristi

:thumbsup2 OK...I can't find this answer anywhere so I'm hoping someone with experience knows :)

Is it OK for boys (he's 4) to wear jeans & a button up shirt to dinner on the casual nights? I know no shorts allowed, but he's only got 1 pair kakhi pants. I either need to do (more) shopping or just know the jeans are OK.

Thanks in advance for a reply...

It's OK for little one to wear shorts...Just not bathing suit shorts. My son (6) usually wears shorts to every restaurant except Luminiers (sp?) He could wear shorts, but we try and dress up for that one. He wears shorts and a polo type shirt. I have worn dress shorts to Parrots Cay....

Oh, DH will be so happy to hear that our little one can wear shorts. That means no more shopping needed for DS...dang:lmao:

Hi everyone! Hope y'all had a great Labor Day weekend.

Can't believe our trip is next month! It's gonna be surreal when the ticker countdowns say "3 weeks such & such days..." and no more "1 month....":) :) :)

and when we get our documents....that's when it'll be really exciting!

DH got a pirate tshirt this weekend and DS got a cute little one, too. Then we went to a friend's for dinner (they've been on the DCL a few times) and said they would loan us their DS's Capt Hook costume. Probably will be a little big but what the heck...it's free;) ;)

My outfit is almost complete so one thing to check off our to-do list.:cool1: :cool1:

My 9yo nephew wore khaki pants with a button down shirt for formal and semi formal nights, khaki shorts with a clean ;) tee shirt the other nights.

I have a question for whoever created the Cruise-A-Palooza logo....

That would be me! I can give you the higest resolution jpg I can - it should be enough for a tshirt. The background I started with wasn't that large, so it's not a HIGH res photo... but it should do. Just pm me with your email address, and add any customizations you want (names on it or whatnot).

:goodvibes

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. It's been kinda quiet here. I'm guessing everyone is relatively busy with school starting back up, etc. Just know I'm thinking about you all and I can't wait to see ya on the Magic. :) Can you believe it's only 38 days away! YIPPPEEEEEEE :) Anyway, take care and hopefully we'll all gab soon! Kristi

If it were I then the shopping trip would just happen to have to include someting I found for me...isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

Thanks for asking about my Mom, she is in rehab now and definitely improving. We expect her home on Sunday.

We've not had any time to get the cruise mode going here, but I'm so ready to make this trip.

O.K....we have 39 days before the cruise, so my wife and I are going to take the Jenny Craig 20 pounds in 30 days for $20.00, **plus the cost of food** challange. I know we are starting late, but we are always on a diet!!! It's not really a diet, but we watch what we eat and try and exercise as much as possible. Once you hit 40, it's hard to keep the weight off.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 We both want to look good for the wedding renewal...

We both know we will put on anywhere from 8 - 10 pounds on the ship...you pay this much, you have to enjoy it!!! Plus, Palo's chocolate soufliee (sp?) and Tiarmasue (sp?) will put 5 pounds on you each...:scared1:  :scared1:

Wish us luck...

Us too, we decided to just jump in the car and drive from Nashville. We are at SSR this weekend

Hey TnRobin, Did you have fun at Disney over Labor Day week-end? I know we did. :cool1:  Just took it easy and let Disney take good care of us. We laid around and played in the sand at one of the beaches at the Caribbean Resort. I laid out in one of the hammocks and had a lovely beverage while watching DW:love: andf DGD:love: build sand castles. (I was the supervisor of the building project. AHHHHHH........ if they'd only listen to me it would have turned out much better!!!!!):lmao: :rotfl2: My lovely beverage was tomato juice with a little splash of something extra to give it some kick. I'm on a health kick now. Gots to stay healthy!!!

Also, while relaxing and supervising..... which by the way kept me pretty busy. I saw two small boats, you know the ones you can rent at the resort to drive around in the lakes at the resorts. Anywho, I was watching these two small boats almost hit each other not once folks but two times.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Boy oh boy what idiots!!!:confused3 But hey folks one good thing, I learned some new words!!!! (Some I still don't know the meaning too.) When they almost hit each other the second time I almost fell out of my hammock and spilled my drink, I was laughing so hard.

Well, I hope everyone had a great & safe week-end. This back to work thing ain't much fun. Would rather be sunning myself at Walt Disney World or on our Disney Cruise!!!!:thumbsup2

:sad2: Poor Jeanne, she has a pulled groin muscle. The dr is hopeful she will be able to sail with us. I want to know how my Mom got a football injury :confused3 , she is 88yo, legally blind and has limited mobility!!! Wonder what she has been keeping from me  . Right now we are using advil and a heating pad, if no improvement in 2 weeks then dr will try a cordisone(sp) shot :scared: . CodyJ and I agree, she can be just as miserable on the ship as here at home!!! Jeanne told me yesterday she is practicing for the cruise (since I am waiting on her hand and foot).

Thanks for listening, i am making lemonade and chicken salad rather sucking lemons and chicken #*@%.
