October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Hey lawhit88! I'm just thrilled I'm actually doing this trip as well. Not worried about an upgrade. Just as long as I have a room to sleep in (on occassion) and to leave my things in. Other than that, I'm good to go. :)

WOW Kevin. You certainly were busy writing everyone back. :) I'm glad you approve the no grass skirt thing. :) My hubbie is very content with the beads, both the day of boarding and the day we meet. :) Thanks for the kind thoughts as well on the adoption. I'm praying we hear in the next few weeks. We went to the agency today to pick up the papers we need to fill out and we signd 5 originals of another document that headed to Vietnam today. They are very busy making sure everything is updated so this is a VERY good sign. :) Deck 9 works perfect for me, and 2pm or 3pm works just fine as well for meeting. I just wanted a definite piece of information so we were all on the same page. As far as the tag thing. I say just give the Sept. 15th deadline, leave the database as it is and just ask those that said they weren't sure to make a yes or no answer. That will give us plenty of time to put our gifts together (we've been discussing ours off and on for the past few days and we have a GREAT, unique idea!). :) Thanks also for the night light idea and the power cord idea. I will put those on my list. Actually I had bought some of those glowsticks as well as glow necklaces. I got a great deal on them! However, my wonderful loving hubbie reminded me that we couldn't take 10 large glowsticks in a tube container as well as 50 23" necklaces (also in a tube container) onto the plane. They would most likely pull us aside as they would think we were terrorists or something. Sooo, he canned the glowstick idea for me. :( Now I've got glowsticks coming out my ears. Guess my daughter will have a blast with them. :) Heee Heee

For everyone! We've got our pirate costumes, our crocs (just ordered today), and I'm going to try and have a t-shirt made for all of us. So I'm ready to go! :) Heee Heee

I probably won't get a chance to get online this weekend as we're going to my in-laws for the Labor Day weekend. I'll be back home late on Monday and will check in with you all then. Sooooo, have a safe and fun weekend all! Kristi

Kevin: The 15th is a perfect cut off date.

Hey to all...(all says hey),

OK...more info on DIS-Tag – (a little disclaimer first...I will try really hard to offer an explanation...please be patient with me --- I have a challenge with written communication)

I suggest we choose a date that people need to make a yes-no commitment. Early to mid September would probably work well [edited - appears Saturday, September 15th...is our registration deadline]. We all need time to prepare ‘our gifts’ and I’ll need a few days to create/copy the participant list and assemble the magnets (DIS-Tag magnets: I’ll shrink ‘our logo’ down and adhere it to a magnet...they will be ½ the size of a business card).

At our DIS-Meet...I’ll pass out to all participating; (1) magnet and (1) list of participants. – after our meeting....THE GAME IS ON (as they say)!!!

The ‘list’ will look similar to this:

  • No Name Stateroom number
  • 1. Mickey Mouse (dis screen name) 1060
  • 2. Pluto (dis screen name) 2120
  • 3. Donald Duck (dis screen name) 2251
  • 4. Ariel (dis screen name) 4021
  • 5. Goofy (dis screen name) 4580

Post our meeting....AND....when convent for you/yours...deliver your ‘item’ and place the magnet toward the top of the recipients stateroom door. For the purpose of this explanation...using Ariel from the above participants....”Number 4—Ariel” would deliver to Goofy at stateroom 4580. Then....Ariel would wait for Donald Duck to deliver her an item. After Donald tags Ariel...she...will --- at a good time for her and her family...and tag the next person. In this example...she would move to the top of the list and tag Mickey Mouse at stateroom 1060. She will continue until she tags the person listed directly above her name --- Donald Duck.

Now...it is possible you’ll be having too much fun (my sincere hopes) and the game might slow up a bit....no worries – cuz...this game is to enhance your time aboard the ship...not be a burden. There is no need to treat your last ‘TAG’ as a ‘hot potato’. If by Thursday morning (my suggestion – am open to others input), you still have an item(s) to deliver...when convenient --- deliver the remaining items to the persons left on your list – by end of day Thursday.

I really hope...all have some great experiences playing this game. We (the whole family) have some fantastic memories playing DIS-Tag---the anticipation of – “did we get tagged”...”what got delivered”...”hurry Dad...open the door”...etc. Here’s a short story – one participant, a young Grandmother, did not want to ‘get caught’ tagging another person...she and her husband would sneak around the hallways like they were in a Mission Impossible movie. Every time I think of her...I can’t help but laugh. Well...this couple would not be in Mission Impossible...maybe more like the comic routine of Agents 66 & 99 in “Get Smart” (tell me you all remember Get Smart ---- cuz...I’m feeling a little aged right about now).

Again...I’ll try hard to answer your questions. Please be patient with me...work has been very demanding...and...I promise to be better in responding. Keep in mind...this is our time...this is our game. If those participating want to change a rule...make a change...go for it. This ‘game’...is to enhance our time during what’s going to be a fantastic vacation.

Please sign up on our Yahoo Groups web site - or...PM me with your information and I'll add it to the 'play list'. if you need an invite to our site - just message me...

Me too, what a great picture!

Kevin may I post this over on the cruise graphics threads for folks to use as a back ground for their magnets?

By jove I've got it! Using some highly sophisticated equipment, GPS - Satellite recon as well as NASA I do believe to answer in the form of a question: "Where is The Heads Up Bar." Frozen Speciality Drinks, Cocktails and BEER!:cool1:

Absolutely...some that I've posted are ones I've taken...others are pulled off of the 'Photo of the day' thread off of the DCL boards. I don't think anyone would mind this being offered/used for that use.

Although I've never been there, it looks to me like somewhere in Castaway Cay?

yep...sure is...your getting warmer. Anyone know 'where you are standing in taking this photo?'

Hope all are enjoying a long weekend...I sure am. Just finished up my responsibilities at Church...were headed out for to enjoy brunch...than a long NAP - yee haw!! A happy and safe Labor Day to all...those leaving their homes - SAFE TRAVEL TO YOU!!!

September 15th sounds good for a drop dead deadline fo participation. Do we need fish extenders? I guess I'm worried that someone will swipe our Dis Tag goodies if they are just left outside our door. Kevin it sounds like you have not used an extender in the past and have been fine.

Happy Labor Day!

Dis Tag?

So I only need one special gift to leave for the cabin above my name? And as seagee asked we don't need fish extenders?

I think we need a gift for each person participating in the game.

I would like to know if others prefer using fish extenders or do we prefer to ask the cabin stewards to deliver the gifts?

For those who want to sign up for DIS-er Tag go to the database page on the off site and look under October 13 Cruisers.

Okay, so I was at the Mall of America today with the kids and we stopped at the Minnesota store just to check it out. Anyway, we looked around to get some ideas for DIStag gifts. The long and short of it...the kids found something I thought would be kind of cute so I picked it up ( I guessed at the # of people) and I'm all set. :thumbsup2 Otherwise with my luck I would go back in a couple weeks and they would be all gone.
