October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Hi all!! After reading through some of these posts I started to wonder about the "clubs" for kids...Peyton will be almost 6 in Oct. and Mia will have just turned 3 in August...can they be together in the same group (Oceanears) or whatever one it is for that age group?

You others are impressing me with talks of spreadsheets...I have everything written out on a rather crowded sheet of paper...so I guess I have my own primeval spreadsheet going...

Just waiting until the end of the month to make some reservations!!

Yes! Your 2 kids can be in the Oceaneer's Club together since the age group is 3 -7 years old.:) :)

Hello All! We lost phone service to our house over the weekend  - so I could not book our reservations at Palo's. I We have DSL but our internet connection became iffy at best. I was up at 3 am hoping it would log on but nooo. Luckily I had a short window when the internet worked on Sunday midmorning and was able to book a dinner but no brunch - all booked up. Still deciding about excursions. I booked some "banana boat" time for Cataway Cay. My husband said, " So much for being spontaneous!" He just does not get it!

Great for you APOOHFN on your passport! We are still waitng for ours
(12weeks and counting).

Take care, Cathy

Congrats to all of you who were allowed to book your reservations early.:woohoo: I hope you got the times and days you wanted. My DW, DGD and myself are like the, it seems, the majority here who have to wait until the end of the month to book ours. I hope Disney has set aside a block of reservation spots for usn' first time cruisers. :cool1: :thumbsup2 And, of course I hope it is a BIG block!!!:lmao: Like everyone here we are excited. Can't wait to get on that ship and start enjoying ourselves. Of course then time should come to almost a stand still so this cruise lasts a very long time!!:thumbsup2 We're thinking of driving over to Disney World on Friday and spending the night. And, then drive from there on over to the Cape. As I said we're thinking about it. Ok who am I kidding we will probably do that.:dance3:
Well got to go. Talk to ya'll later!!! 86 DAYS, AND COUNTING!!!!!

I am sooo worthless at work today. I have cruise on the brain. I know I still have nearly 3 months, but booking my excursions makes it seem so close.

the porterfamily. Unless things have changed recently, while your kids will both be in the Club, they will be in separate activities. It has been a couple years since I paid attention to the two age groups in the OC, but it was 3-4 and 5-7. Age appropriate activities are planned for each group. It is possible to have a child "move down" to a lower age group, but they may be bored with those activities. Talk to the counselors if you want to have your 6 year old in the 3-4 group.

Glad to hear I am not the only one - day 2....still Caribbean dreaming. My poor co-workers are about to toss my ipod in the trash - I've been playing steel drum music for the past 3 days.

Well...to helps others recover...or...plunge in the deep end with me - here is a photo I thought you'd enjoy. This is only part of 'the spread' offered during Palo Brunch....one word....AWESOME!!!

That pic is HILARIOUS, Bevtoy & would make a great door magnet:rotfl:

I'm sad the Palo brunch is already booked!!!! That pic looks so yummy:sad1:

Thanks for the compliments.
I just found 2 reasonably priced Pirate costumes for DH and DD17 on Amazon.com so now I only need one more costume for myself.
The date seems just around the corner, 85 days left on the countdown!

Now that is a princess shirt I would like to have. :)

About had a heart attach last night. Sent hubby to fetch the passports from the fire-proof box. He came back and told me they were missing. (Panic Attack). I woke up at 4:00 this morning fretting over it and trying to figure out how to get to Nashville and Vital Records to get another Birth certificate. I decided to start tearing up the office. I knew that we had them last Christmas. I checked the fire-proof box first. Lo and Behold right there they were. (Sigh of relief) I will have to kill my hubby when I get home.

I'm cleaning out DD's closet. Would anyone like a Minnie dress size small? I bought this off eBay new for our last crusie. She wore it once. Of course! It's a pink jumper style with large flowers (dark pink and blue) with an embroidered Minnie Mouse and the words "Minnie" on the front. There is a white knit shirt with pink trim around the sleeves and neck that you wear under the jumper. DD wore this when she was 7 (average ht and wt). I'd be happy to pass it along to a Cruise-A- Palooza" friend! PM me. Cathy

It's cute =I know my descrption is not the best.

Robin: Kill your DH lol

Cathy: That's so nice of you to offer...too bad I don't have a girl:sad1:

We have been so busy, between surviving a week at Girl Scout Camp,
going thru an acquisition at work
and countless swim lessons, karate, book clubs, etc... :scared:
that we have not even had time to THINK about the cruise. I about had a panic attack when I saw how many days were left until the cruise! We are meeting with our cruising friends this weekend to strategize and pick out all our excursions, etc... It is just coming up so soon! I am not ready to let go of summer, though - I am just getting into the swing of it. Winter comes far too quickly here in Wisconsin!!

Hope we can do the excursions we want - the Dolphin Encounter in St. Maarten and the Doubloon in St. Thomas. The girls really want to swim with the dolphins, despite the fact that we won't be able to eat for a month after paying for it.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Off for a shopping day! JC Pennys, Sams Club, Kohls here we come!
The preschool sales are on and OC we have to eat lunch at Red Lobster. My DD Anna loves kids menu now that it has crab legs.!

I am the only one left in the family with out a pirate costume at this point.
I can't wait to see the family picture when we all dress as pirates!

For those of us who are not repeat cruisers, would it be Sunday, July 29 or Monday, July 30 that we can register for excursions? I have a DD 17 who wants to experience the "Wild Side" excursion. I think we will para sail at Cocoa Beach the day before we leave.

When does school start for the winter or are your children on a rotating schedule? My college and the kids school star at mid to end of August.

Hello Everyone!

We just changed our reservation to this cruise. We were originally going the week of thanksgiving, but in the end it was too expensive. This cruise costs half the price for the same amount of fun!

My wife (Pam) and I have two daughters, 5 and 7 (well, she turns 7 at the end of the month) and live in Nashville, TN. This is our third Disney cruise on the Magic (All easterns). We were on the "Molar Express" in 05 and the 9/30 cruise last year. There were a few hiccups on the 05 cruise (as an aside - I would recomend not being the first cruise after a dry dock.) but the 06 cruise was flawless. I'm sure this one is going to be just as awesome, if not better.

Can't wait!

Jason.

HEY JASON - welcome to you and yours --- from another 'Molar Express-er'. Regardless of the challenges with sailing after dry dock...we had a great time. Am in agreement - I would not book another cruise directly after.

HAPPY FRIDAY to all!!! Hope each has great plan for the weekend. thought I'd also pass a photo to help all count the days....getting closer

Hi to all -

I just found out the sex of the reason why we're not going this year but next year.
My wife and I are waiting for our new SON!!!
We are so excited about it.
thats the best news and some more pretty good news is ABC started to run the promos for Fat March in the prime time hours.

Welcome Jason,

I work in Nashville (live in Franklin). Where are you guys from. There may be another set of Nashvillians joining us. I was talking to a girl at work and she said friends/family of hers was going on a disney cruise during Fall Break for Metro. (Are you related/aquainted with Lauri Hoenig)
