October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Got my stateroom number today - 6145. We got a Cat 11 on Deck 6. It is in the aft section - our favorite. Plus Deck 6 is great. Near the theater and Topsiders. Woo Hoo

I had thought I got added to the DIS Tag game. Is it too late?

Hey all! I have a question regarding the door magnets. Do you just pack your magnets in your regular suitcase and put them up once your suitcases arrive to your rooms or do you put them in your carryon case. And, if you put them in your carry on case, do you pull them out before they go through the security check? Just checking! Thanks! Kristi

I have a hard three ring binder with pockets to pack in my carry on, but I am a over the top packer.:lmao:

I don't want my magnets crumpled and ruined.

Last time I flew it appeared luggage handlers drizzled jet fuel and oil on my brand new suit case set, threw them on the tarmac and for good measurer and ran over them a few times with their shuttle. (Sounds like a recipe for a haute cuisine dessert.)
:rotfl2:
Anything I value goes in my carry on.

A hard 3-ring binder, Bev??!! Wow...! You are a heavy packer ;)
I don't even want to pack a hard envelope to bring the navs and Shutter pics home but I will lol

Congrats, Kevin to your M/FIL on their 50th ~ WOW! 40 more years for me & DH until we reach that milestone ~ hope we'll both still be alive!

I, too, heard the cruise docs usually arrive around 2 weeks before sail date. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Happy Tuesday everyone....

3 weeks 2 days until we head to MCO :yay:

Hi everybody

Our family is deciding by Friday if we are on this cruise or not :woohoo: We are definitely cruising the week of the 13th, but we are not all together on what cruiseline...I say DCL, but my hubby is not totally convinced, yet..

I really hope we do. It has been 3 long years since we have cruised Disney...

I will keep you updated. :)

WOW bevtoy! I'm not sure I'll have the space for a 3-ring binder but will think about taking them in something that won't allow them to bend. As for the airport doing all those horrible things to your suitcase, shame on them. Hopefully that doesn't happen to us. We have brand new suitcases that we bought in preparation for our trip to Vietnam. If they wanna make them a little dirty that's fine with us but they'd better not completely ruin them. :) Anyway, thanks for the idea for the magnets. :) Kristi

I think it will help keep our photos nice for the return trip and keep all our documents in order. We once left our photos on a airplane and didn't get them back. I don't want a rerun of that trip. :confused3

Awesome...I've always wanted to sail near the rear of the ship - your also sooooo close to the 2 secret verandahs - some of my favorite places.

I had thought I got added to the DIS Tag game. Is it too late?

I apologize...you did place your interest well before the deadline...hope you will accept my apology for this error. I've edited my post from last night adding you to the list (You’ll have to check my ‘reason for editing’).

We have FIFTEEN (15) playing DIS-Tag...great turn out - THANK YOU...this is going to be fun.

I also wanted to know the time and place for the DIS tag meet. I typed up an itinerary for us and need to fill in that slot.

I believe we've discussed meeting on Sunday between 2 and 3 - on Deck 9 – port side – just aft of the Cove Café. During this get together….I’ll need ~5 minutes with those playing DIS-Tag to pass out a list/magnet to all participating. Plus…we will need to verify everyone’s stateroom numbers…as I am hoping there is still some pixie dust out there for upgrades while checking in at port – good luck to all. Also...I hate asking...but, do we want to use name tags during our DIS-Meet? I frequent the printers for our office and can pick some up....thoughts - comments - discussion???

Thanks for the kind words about M/FIL’s 50th celebration. They are awesome people…I am so blessed to be their SIL.

This vacation is starting to get too real…too fast. It's hard to believe we leave for Florida in 18 days and I CAN’T wait. I’ll be taking my laptop with me….so…I’ll be your weather person – park crowd patrol….hopefully reporting nightly.

all for now.....k

Thanks Kevin for everything. I know you've been working hard to put the DIS-tag together and such. It is truly appreciated. :) I've got the date, time and place marked down for meeting up with all of you. I'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to possibly meeting some of you on the day of boarding. I'll have my mardi gras beads on (as will the DH and the DD) and, if my DH does what I asked him to do, we'll have shirts with our Cruise-A-Palooza logo on them. :) As far as your idea for name tags is concerned, I'm terrible with names and so I think it'd be much easier for us to be able to talk to one another. Maybe we could have our DIS name below our real name? Just an idea. :)

I think 15 people playing DIS-tag is a great number. I'm looking forward to picking up my goodies. :)

Have a great day! Kristi

I think thats a great idea, I am terrible at remembering names.

Anyone bringing wine onboard? Talking about water earlier reminded me about bringing wine onboard. We want to enjoy some wine w/the cheese platter on our verandah. Too cheap to order from DCL.

We have to keep the wine w/us in our daypack during embarking, right?

We pack our Champange (sp?), wine and liq. in lg. zip loc bags and pack them in our suit cases...we have never had anything broken:wizard: I also roll them up in a couple of my t-shirts to give them extra protection. Let me go back and clarify, we only take 1 bottle of Champange, we have a favorite that I get at a discount in B'ham. I know they charge a cork fee at Palo's, but with the discount, we save almost $100.00 a bottle than what DCL charges!:scared: Every cruise we have taken, the ladies always set up their own wine tasting event, everyone brings a "LOCAL BOTTLE" of wine to share. That is a good way to meet other cruisers and yes guys are invited, but some of us do not drink wine so its usually more ladies than men.:confused3 :rotfl: Plus, it's a great way to try other wines, if your like us in AL, we are limited to what we can get. My wife usually brings a bottle of Muscadine Wine, she does not drink it on a reg. basis, but other people like to try it. If anyone one is interested, let us know, it is not hard to get a group together....

Hope this helps.

We are either going to bring wine or spumante on board or I will have it put in a basket from the Perfect Gift. Just don't forget the corksrew. :) :drinking1

What a great idea! That sounds like you guy's had a lot of fun. :goodvibes

Every one has a great time, plus not to mention they get a little tipsy:cool1: :rolleyes1 :cool1: They usually do it on a sea day so as not to take away from family time.

Thanks, Keith & Jenmack!! Your posts definitely help.

We'll have a rental car and since we arrive a couple days before the cruise, we'll make a pitstop at the store to pick up some wine (probably water, too!) and a cheap corkscrew to leave behind when the cruise is over (cuz you know how much room corkscrews take up :lmao: )
